A few things I have found out and that you should know:

Their fist call is a survey on allergies, which legally is NOT considered a solicitation. At the end of that call, they ask if they can call you again if you are selected to win something...and if you say "yes" they will call and KEEP calling until you either let them come out and do a demonstration, or you insist that they place you on their do not call list. They WILL try to talk over you...just keep at it...and call THEM back if they hang up on you! (They have stopped calling me since I did this)

My neighbor however actually let them come out. She went through the whole demonstration and actually had a lot of fun with the sales rep. She even loved the product despite it's high price tag...and bought it. Yes, it's very costly, but she says it's still worth it to her.

A couple other things....yes, the economy sucks and we're all trying to pay the bills....including the people that work for Coastal Aire. The rep wouldn't give my friend numbers...but they don't get paid much....not much at all. Just think....why are they always hiring?

I thought it was a UPS post it stamp so I called them and gave them my address and now I went into this website I felt stupid. I told them I don't want a free delivery and a vacation and hung up. Will anything happen after this?

Their website is http://filterqueen.com/coastalaireconcepts/index.html and it lists the e-mail address coastalaireinc@yahoo.com. That might be a good way to contact them for complaints to avoid giving them your number on the caller ID. That said, you'll likely get e-mail spam instead. :(

I live in an apartment complex that has a large sign informing salespeople that solicitations are not allowed here. However, a "Now Hiring!" ad listing the numbers (360) 373-2001 and (888) 373-2001 was placed at my door. The initials "RJE" were handwritten on the back. I'm sure, whoever "RJE" is, he or she likely gets a bonus if able to recruit gullible job seekers to aid in the door-to-door campaign of annoyance.

I can't imagine anyone would apply to their job post. It seems pretty obvious that it isn't legit. The tag lines "$900 Bi-Weekly+Bonuses" and "No Layoffs" screams out that there must be a catch. Also, what honest employer only requires that you be "...clean in appearance," "At least 18..." and "own reliable transportation?" We're in a recession. Honest employers do not need to maintain such low standards for employment or go door-to-door hanging help wanted ads. Also, they didn't bother to make sure their ads were securely attached to anything so there was help wanted litter all over the complex for the poor groundskeepers to collect. Also, I was home all day and nobody knocked on my door. I guess they knew what kind of response they would get from most people.

Question: If a salesperson enters a complex that has a "No Solicitations" sign, can they be charged with trespassing? If so, can I make the call or would the property manager need to?

I went into their office today to talk to them and have my name removed and make sure of it and the manager was really nice. He even apologized for any inconvenience they caused. Who the hell says that. He must be new. Maybe they are cleaning up their act. I he gave me my gift I won and everything and all he did to even get close on selling anything was give me a pamphlet. I threw it away but weird. I expected way different.

I called them back today after getting a survey done two days ago. The Manager picked up the phone and I told him I wanted to "Cancel my appointment" He actually canceled it without trying to talk me into keeping it. I was shocked maybe they have new management or something.

Survey
I was contacted by Coastal Aire, AKA Coastal Air Concepts Inc. May 7, 2009. I said "I was not interested in doing a survey or buying anything." Amber immediately said "I am not doing a survey or selling anything. I actually have really good news for Tammy, is she there?" I said "This is Tammy." I was than told that because I had done a survey a week prior my name was drawn and I won a prize. Amber named off 4 items, the last one was a trip for 3 days 2 nights at a 4 to 5 star hotel. Amber said "That the trip was absolutely free, that I didn't have to pay the tax, that I was not required to spend any money to redeem." I than asked if there was any type of seminar, sales pitch, ect. once I arrived for the trip. Amber again said "It is a absolutely free stay no obligation to sit through any type of seminar or sales pitch." I than asked if the air travel was paid for. She said "That she was not quite sure, but there was plenty of places to choose from in Washingon, that it could be a weekend out with a girl friend or who ever, that it didn't have to be my husband." I again asked that I was not required to do anything once I arrived Amber once again said "that it was an absolutely free trip and promised me that it required nothing from me once I arrived." I give her my address to mail me my certificate. Amber said "To keep it totally FREE that they do not ship out the gifts, that she would like to hand deliver it to me." So than with a little more questioning, I find out that once they get here they want to show be a air cleaning system. I said "No thank you never mind" She says "It is really quick it only takes 60 minutes, you make me feel like I am a Kirby sales person, it is a real nice trip and that I wasn't required to purchase the air cleaner." So I decided for 60 minutes of my time it was worth a absolutey nothing else required of me trip. When the salesman showed up May 8, 2009 he showed me an air cleaner, than pulled out a vacuum cleaner and we had to fill up many I am guessing 30 or more paper disc full of evidence that he had showed how the vacuum works. We had to sit through a very boring sales pitch on how all the different vacuums cleaners do not work. This presentation took 3 hours, because after he is done he has to totally take apart the vacuum and clean it , wash and dry before putting it away. I am pretty sure he got out of my house a little quicker than norm because after I received the trip information I was not happy. He said "He did not know anything about how the trip works or what is said on the phone call to me and offered me his managers number." I was given an incorrect telephone number for the manager. May 11,2009 I try calling the number on my caller ID, Amber answers the telephone, I asked to speak with the manager she said "He was not there, could she help me." So I told her why I was upset. While I was talking with her I recognized her voice and commented on the fact that I felt it was her that had called me, she denied it. The manager called me back I did not get his name the first time he told me and when I asked for it he would not tell me, he refused his name and address stating that if I continued to harass him and his employees that he would sue me for harrasment and that he had the right to hang up on me at any time. He did not call to hear my concerns he was not interested at all on answering my questions about lying about the trip. He just wanted to treat me like I was 3 years old and try to intimadate me to not take it any farther. I made one phone call to talk to the manager, how would that be harrasment? But it was ok for him to scream at me? I hung up and he called me back, he than offered to send me a different item I said no thanks do not send any thing to my home and do not call again, that all I really called for was to get my needed information, it wasn't until I told him I was contacting the bbb and attorney's general that he offered me a different gift. I did not want any of the other gifts they did not compare to the trip, I would not of given up even 60 minutes of my time for them. Ok here is what is wrong with the absolutely nothing required of me free trip. 1. $50 dollar reservation fee that is refundable after you stay. 2. If married have to travel with your spouse. 3. Must be gainfully employed, and have a credit card, not debit card. 4. Possibly required to listen to time share speech, depends on where you are going. If you do not attend than they charge your credit card for the hotel stay. You do not know if the time share speech is required until after you pay the $50 reservation fee, that is refundable if you stay at the hotel. So therefore they get to keep the $50 if you find out that there is a sales speech, and decide not to go. 5. There is one spot in Washington. A place called "The Coast"

Amber started the conversation with she was not trying to sell me anything, they were trying to sell a air cleaner and a vacuum cleaner. The manager still denies that it is a vacuum cleaner, it picks up dirt it is a vacuum cleaner.

To report to the BBB you use the 360-373-2001 phone number they have a "F" Rating. Also you can do an online complaint to the Attorney general
The BBB is BBB.org
The Attorney General is http://www.atg.wa.gov/

Consumers "BEWARE" they will say what ever it takes to get to your house I did say "No" and asked many questions before finally saying yes. All my questions were answered with lies.

This is a SCAM in so many ways, learn from my mistake "DO NOT ANSWER".

This company called at nearly 9:00 at night.  My husband answered.  A women asked if she could ask a few survey questions about air quality and call back if we won a prize.  Of course they called back the next day (same late time) and shockingly :-) "we won".  I was furiously giving my husband the high sign meaning "NO WAY" but my naive husband said sure, come on over ( and give your sales pitch). My hubby was then scheduled for an appointment at our house the following evening.  I got rather annoyed with my husband for ignoring my furious high signs and requested (well, actually demanded) that he cancel the home visit.  Fast forward to the following day.  My husband dutifully  tried recalling the number from  our caller ID.  Line busy....still busy...still busy - you get the picture.  Finally the line rang, and rang, and rang, and rang etc.  then an auto hang up.  I informed my dear husband that he would be turning these folks away at the door if he couldn't get this cancelled.  In search of some way to cancel this thing I went on the computer and found this site.  We were able to reach these people on the 2001 number (I'm sure they change their number as often as women change hairstyles) and hopefully cancel this sales pitch.  Dear fellow phone owners:  THIS IS A SCAM.
Thanks.

They called me to set up an appointment to come out and drop off a vacation. I didn't know what to thing so after I agreed to have them come out I decided to look up their company and I found this site two others. Some good and some bad to I decided to let them come out. They gave me a
little presentation on some air filters when they came out to drop off my vacation. Although I agree you shouldn't call people call people after eight like some others wrote. I'm glad I had them out. My son has cat allergies and thier filters have helped alot. My daughter can have her cat and my son has no problems now.(Yes this means I bought one.) The vacation is only for the hotel not he travel so that is a bummer but over all not a bad experience

I received a call from this number yesterday, and answered the brief questions (air quality in the area, any allergies in the home, if we use an air filter). She asked for my first name and I gave it, truly thinking it was just a routine survey. She also asked if she could call me back if I won a prize, and I agreed. I received a call back about noon today (a lady named Sheree) informing me I had won, and had a choice between a vacation (three days, two nights.. didn't specify where) or a BBQ grill. I chose the grill as I started realizing it was a scam. She informed me that they could be out at my house today, and we set up a time for 3. The guy, Ron, called me at about 2:30 and reaffirmed that we would BOTH be here, which really started to make me wonder. He shows up at 3:30, and as soon as my husband saw all the crap he was carrying he told him to leave.. that we weren't interested. My husband got stuck talking to him for quite awhile as the guy made his pitch, and also informed us that he didn't have the grill with him (and that makes perfect sense how....?).
If they had simply been up front and honest about their reasons for wanting to come out to my house it would have saved us all a lot of time wasted. Unless you are interested in ridiculously priced vacuums (way higher than Kirby), ignore the call, or somehow get them off the phone.

They have not called me but I wanted you to know about this-- they posted an ad on Craig's List for marketing/sales help.  I called the number listed on the ad (it is below) and when they gave me their address, I looked them up in our local phone book and it is the same address, but with the 373-2001 number mentioned in your posting above.  When I searched the internet for their web site, up came this page!  Are these people really scammers?  If so I don't want anything to do with them and certainly am not going to waste my time interviewing with them.  Below is the ad on Craig's list they posted.  Please email me at djhornick@comcast.net if you have any comments.  Thank you!

This is the new number being used by Coastal Aire Concepts, Inc. See postings under their old number for details about their scam at 360-373-2001.

The brief story is that they call and ask a few questions about "air quality". Then the call again to say you have won a prize and want to schedule an appointment to come to your house. Other reports say once they get to your house they try to sell you a vacuum cleaner at an inflated price.
