Same. My concern is how the hell did these people get my number? There has to be a common thread among us, I am very careful where I put my phone number. Carrier is Sprint for me, that's a good place to start. Some service we all use has either been hacked or sold our info...

Received a text this morning with this phone # attached. Naturally, not knowing the number, I didn't call it. How do I get the texts to stop?

I live in Hawaii but do not bank with First Hawaiian. At first, I thought that maybe someone took my information and opened a new account. But now it looks like a WHOLe Lot of people are having the same problem. I never called or replied to the messages.
I got two text messages from "First Hawaiin Bank"(FHB) on Oct 31:

Subject: message First Hawaiian-new message. 360 382 1791
2. From:FHB@mb-tdpdc-01.thedesignpeople.net

If anybody knows for sure what the story behind the messages are, please fill me in. Thanks and Mahalo

I received this same text message, and here is the response I got from the bank:
Fraudulent Phone and Text Scam
Alert posted by the Hawaii Bankers Association
The Hawaii Bankers Association recently provided a timely alert, warning all Hawaii banking customers of a telephone scam. The scam calls or texts individuals and fraudulently advises that their bank account is being deactivated; then the computerized message asks for your account information.
If you have received one of these texts or phone calls, just hang up. If you did respond and gave out your personal FHB bank account information, please contact First Hawaiian Bank at 844-4444 from Oahu or 1-888-844-4444 from the neighbor islands, Guam/CNMI or the mainland, or contact your personal banker.
As a reminder, FHB does not ask for your account number or PIN information over the phone or through the internet. If someone emails or calls you claiming to represent FHB or any other bank and asks for this information, just hang up.

Got a text message from this number: (360) 382-1791
Saying that it was from a local bank, and to call... IT IS A SCAM!!!
They are trying to get your credit card number!!! (IT IS IN NO WAY ASSOCIATED WITH ANY REAL BANKS OR FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS!!!)
First of all, I have NEVER given this number out to any banking institutions. And, secondly, that bank said that ANY texted messages asking for a credit card number IS NOT FROM THEM!!!

Got it as well. From First Hawaiian. I do bank with them, so they are getting info somewhere or the scam is just taking the odds that they will hit a certain number of peeps.
Report the number to the bank and also your cell phone provider.

Same here, got two messages this morning, early. I live in honolulu, are you all in Hawai'i too??
kw 2010-10-31 20:01:47 Unknown
We got it too, about 30 mins ago. Shows return # as 1410000030 which doesn't sound like a legit #. Wanted to reply with a "special" message but didn't because the # doesn't look valid.
James 2010-10-31 19:31:56 SMS
Got called by this # with the text "ent@visp.net: (message) FirstHawaiian new message. Call us 360 3821791" What the hell is this...
Ruthie 2010-10-31 19:21:43 Unknown
STOP DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER. IT'S A SCAM THAT WILL COST YOU BIG DOLLARS.
Got this text saying it was important to call my bank. The text has the name of my bank so they have the info from somewhere.
I checked with my phone provider.
If you call them they will put you on hold. You need to press different signs and numbers to get you to the next person but it also give them permission to charge you $25 or more per minute. The number is going through to Canada the routed elsewhere.
The amount will appear on your bill and you phone carrier cannot help you dispute an AUTHORIZED PURCHASE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY!!!!

I was just scammed by this. My son & I both got cell texts by non existent email account while we were still asleep. Called number, recorded message sad it was a fraud alert and requested info about our credit card - including pin number. Called the bank - their representative called the number given and informed us that it was not associated with our bank. Googled number and got this website. Our next step is to notify the FBI.
