I'm so sick of these people....we've had soooo many of these calls....I've lost count. Tonight we'd had enough. We've gone from being polite to mildly ticked off and insulting to tonight we just let loose. My partner told "James" he'd be cursed and his whole family cursed. Then she hung up on "James". But then he has the nerve to ring back!! And I totally let loose on him...and he rings back like three more times. It became a game and my kid wanted to get in on the action lol. Seriously....how do they not get it that some of us are just not that stupid.
Just insult the hell out of them and maybe they'll finally start keeping records.

I got the same call in Christchurch, New Zealand. I didn't answer, but this number was in my missed calls directory. Thanks for the heads up.

Received a call today - when I picked it up, say 'hello', loud electronic sound and the call is dropped.
BTW heard of a scam used in France - when you dial back on a number you don't recognize it's a $10/per/minute call, and they try to keep you on. So, don't dial this 360 -number. Let them dial you, then hang up when you work it out.

Received a call today from an Indian guy claiming to work for Microsoft's Windows support team (!). The call says it came from Washington State in the US. In a thick accent the guy said I had a virus that Microsoft had noticed and wanted to take over my PC to fix it.
I treated this request with the contempt it deserved. It's is a total scam with criminal intent.

Just got the call @ 4:00 pm
from 13604690456
basically it's always an indian bloke who will ask you about your computer or some sort.. the only time you should get your computer checked is by someone face to face!! or via team viewer or something of the sort!
But basically it is as everyone elses response...
me - "HI THIS IS MICHAEL!" (not my name)
"Hey i am calling in regards to your computer?"
me - "Uhh which one?"
"Your Computer sir, it has viruses"
me - "Yes, which one?"
"The Computer with Windows 7"
me - "Oh Ok, what seems to be the problem?"
*Indian hangs up*

I just got a call 5 mins ago - I only picked it up because I recognised the area code of "360" - I used to live in Bellingham, Washington (which is 2 hours north of Seattle), and thought it may be a friend...
They hung up without talking, but I hope they call back so I can waste their time for some amusement. There are a lot of tech companies in Washington, but Seattle has an area code of 207. Bellingham is a fishing town. So regardless of what they say, don't take it seriously... Enjoy!

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected-corrupted scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

I receive regular calls from the same company.
Get me to go to event viewer to see all the errors and warnings which I know is part of the Windows reporting hiccups but they suggest its malicious viruses - even though I have good antiviral software.
They try really hard to get me to download a file which I won;t - they give up.
They are really trying to help!!!!!!
I'm concerned that gullible people (Including senior citizens) could be sucked into whatever they are doing.

Yes same number, although the number was from WA USA, which I doubt very much.
The best thing about these calls is you can take the piss out of them and give them heaps of grief.
There's also a donotcall.gov.au website for Aus folk.

Can't believe how persistent those people are, that same lady just called again 2 minutes ago and this time she identified herself as Natalie from Microsoft Inc. She said they identified my Windows computer being used and downloaded a damaging software that only them can remove it. Told her that I have an iPad that has nothing to do with the Windows system and then , like a robot, she repeated the same rubbish replacing the words "your Windows Computer" with "your iPad". There must be a way to bring those down!!

In New Zealand. Just got a call from that same number. This is the second time a call came from this number. In the previous call a female with Indian accent and she said there was a problem on my computer and the system downloaded a virus like code and they "fixed it" but wanted to access the computer to check it is all safe to use. I simply asked her: "What computer? We don't have one" and she immediately hanged up. This time there was no one talking on the other end other than some kind of humming and I terminated the call. Called the number hoping someone picks up to show them how outraged I was but the operator said the number is not allocated. Now I found in the previous posts that it most likely is a VoIP number. There should be a way to track the service provider and file a complaint

Got the call at 1.40pm today, Mon. May 13.
A male caller. No discernable accent. Conversation went like this:
I'm calling about your computer. [Very abrupt]
What about it?
I'm from Windows. You've downloaded a virus.
Do you think I'm a bloody mug? It's all over the internet about scammers like you. What's your number?
I can give you a street address.
Give me anything, so I can report you. (I'd already captured his phone number)
Hello? Hello? [Pretends to lose contact and then hangs up.]
NB You should have an option for 'Malicious Call' or 'Scammer'

Just had three calls in a row just now. Indian accent first call was female, other two were male. Started arguing with me that they had not called prior and stating they were from Microsoft Office and tried to give me a ABN to prove who they were! Seriously. I am hoping they call again - I have my son's whistle.

Got a call from +13604690456. Thought it must be a scam so hung up, I get at least 5 unsolicited calls a day so i can spot them a mile away now. So many scammers out there, if they are calling from an overseas country your not familiar with just hang up. I had one once that hung up for me and had my phone redial them automatically, lucky i was looking and hit the red button, those basterds are clever...
