New name. Same old scam. "Central Research". Called a friend of mine 3 times yesterday, and the phone rang on one occasion 20 times or more.

This business with the phone ringing 20x or more also connects in with 504-861-5879 (and many other numbers), which is the number for the spoofed ID for Loyola U. (Not Loyola University; I checked with them and they said, "We are having trouble with our new equipment.")

I am on the National Do Not Call List. I'm also on the State of TN. do not call list. These people don't stop calling me. Since 4/24/12 I have gotten 185 calls from them. Even took the Survey and got the Cruise person Brian and told him to remove me the their list. He said he was not the one calling that it was independant survey group.  I told him he knows who they are and he better take my number off the list now! You go to www.independantsurveygroup.org and you will find out this is not even a real web site that gets you to them.

Phone Number Report: This call has an automated voice stating the nature of the call is for Aa POLITICAL SURVEY & YOU CAN RECEIVE A VACATION FOR PARTICIPATING. I'TS AN ABSOLUTE NUISANCE & SCAM!!! This number is constantly calling MY private HOME PHONE that we pay QWEST for and we have also been on the national "do not call list" for years now. These scams are absolutely unacceptable and US citizens should NOT need to deal with these scams. Why are the CELL Phone Company Giants like QWEST/CENTURY LINK allowing this to happen to PAYING CUSTOMERS??? Where is our government security protection????????? I have answered this call from this number because they keep calling without leaving a message, the calls are coming in on a daily basis 1 to 2 times per day. We also receive several other calls from other numbers trying to scam too. This is DISRUPTING OUR DAILY LIVES!! We may decide to do away with phones all together because we have had enough!!!! I've started complaining about these numbers on the Do Not Call list website https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx  The few times I've answered it's always a recorded call (illegal) claiming to be a political survey. Listen all the way to the end--they're going to give you some prize--in my case a cruise to the Bahamas that I'd have to pay taxes and "fees" on--if you answer the survey. They did give an option to press 1 to be redirected to what sounded like a travel agency, or 9 to be removed from the list. But they keep calling back with different numbers. If you dial the number back, it's "temporarily unavailable." This is some kind of scam.

Survey companies are exempt from the Do Not Call list. If you don't like it, contact your legislator. Laws are written by industry and lobby groups and passed by Congress. This wil continue until we start making Congress listen. What we need is not less government, it is more effective government. Oh, and educate yourselves about Citizens United, it's the worst assault on individual rights since the 1700's.

 From what you describe this was a criminal attempt to get you to expose your computer so it could be compromised. It is a known scam to try and trick people via a phone call pretending there is a problem with your PC. In reality, you would be giving them the ability to remotely break into your PC.

 It's already clear from the other notes on this list that it's a shady number but this definitely criminal activity, or at least an attempt at one.

i received several different phone calls from the same name "IND SUR GROUP".

called from same number except last 4 numbers were 3925.  Usually it is 3924.  Problem this time is it called my private ring for the first time.  I am assuming it is just a robo call and they don't know what number they called.  I turned off my answering machine. They would love to know my number so they could sell it.  I never answer and when they hang up after 3 rings (sometimes 4) I know it is a scam...probably robo-ing to another number by then.

THEY ARE ALL SCAMMERS!!!

These scammers are under the guise of a political survey group and call our businss line outside business hours every day, which leaves a recorded message on our voice mail. Political surveys, polls, and contribution solicitations are not subject to the Do Not Call list.

Since adding my number to the Do Not Call list, the volume of sales cold calls I receive has dropped to nothing. However, scammers by their very nature don't care about obeying the law, so they will not use the Do Not Call database to filter their phone lists.

It's not the fault of the Do Not Call list; they can't stop callers who don't use it, so stop complaining about this useful free sevice.

I have blocked these numbers on my cell but have recently noticed that on my work phone(I work nights) that these a** holes are calling me and as well.

Got one call 9:20 a.m. Saturday morning.  No message.  They have also called from (360) 474-3915, and other numbers with a 360 area code.  Sometimes it was an Oregon based number, apparently.

The Caller ID would show a different company name every time, and I sometimes got recordings about lowering credit card rates, not a survey or cruise.  Blasted recording with a woman squawking about my card is not yet in danger and press 1 to speak to someone immediately.

I know there are legit survey companies, but you can't be sure you're talking to one of them.  Besides, I don't want to answer any questions or go on any cruise, esp. alone.  And there's nothing wrong with my cards.

They called and I didn't answer. No message was left, so I quess it wasn't important.

So far these are the numbers this supposed "Independent Survey Group" is calling from.  I have a caller ID box that allows me to block them, but they keep changing the number they are calling from, so I guess I'll just have to block them continuously (my box holds 500+ numbers so I'm assuming they don't have that many extensions).   I'm tempted to answer one day and if a live person answers to give them a taste of an air horn.
