HAHAHA! That's the funniest and best way to deal with them; as an extra touch, a commode flush wouldn't be a bad thing to add after waiting awhile. This is hilarious; you're giving me ideas.

This is what I do.  I press 1 and act real enthused when they come on the line.  They ask how much I owe and all the same ?'s that is the norm for these scammers.  All info I give is totally fake.  When they finally get to the BIG question, "Now give me your cc# so I can verify your information" or some such nonsense, I tell them I'll have to get it from my wallet and that I'll be right back.  

I put the phone in the bathroom, shut the door and just leave it there for awhile.  I do this every time they call, whether it's on my landline or cell.  Let them waste their time waiting for me to come back with what they think is going to be a big, fat, juicy, credit card number!  LOL

Same here. Rang four times and hung up. No message.  I let calls from unknown numbers go to voice mail. If it's important, they'll leave a message.

Receive numerous calls from this number supposedly in "Arlington WA" caling itself Cardmember Services.  I have no idea how to make them stop.

These people are total scammers.  They are trying to get your personal info so they can rip you off.  BEWARE!!!!

Got another call from 360-474-3977 (prior one on 8-03-12 also left info here). Strange that they would use the same forged phone number with the caller ID as "HCFA". This was another recorded message from "Card Services" which said
"This is your last call before we close out your records for the year?" =(It is August Dummies).
"We have sent you other messages and this is your last one" = (LIE=It will never be the last one with them).
"You have to have at least one credit card with $3000 balance." and to press 1 to speak to a person.
Which I did. The male with broken English asked if I wanted to "lower my Interest rate".
I responded with "Lower my rate." Guess I should have said "Yes," instead OR he read the comments from
the guy on Friday 8-03-12 who I gave the "SCAMMER HORN" to 'cause he hung up with out saying a word.

This telephone number belongs to Pacific Telecom Communications Group.  They are a public utility who's business involves facilitating telemarketing calls, a possible violation of 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

Receive calls almost daily in regard to my credit card that they can lower my interest rate.  If I don't pick up they leave no message.  I have been on the Don Not Call list since the begining and have renewed it several times.

I heard that if yalls hit the # key many times, it confuses their robo call. I havent tried it yet cause I let them yak into the answering machine.

This number (which caller id only showed at HFCA) hung up when the answering machine picked up. Since I don't have long distance on my home phone (where they called), I tried to call it from my cell. Reached a recording saying they do not accept blocked numbers and if I want to be removed, I have to unblock my number. Yeah right, like I am going to give them another number to call. My iPhone shows the city and state when I call it back, it was Marysville, WA.

They want to waste their time, so be it.

Another recorded message from Credit Card Services, press 1 to talk to a person. I pressed 1 and a guy asked '"do U want to lower your Interest rate?" I responded "yes I did". He asked "how much do U owe?" I gave him my fake "$15 thousand" answer. He asked "what was my high balance?" I said "My Main one has $5 thousand on it". He asked "what bank was that with?" And of course another falsehood back to him. "It is with Capital ONE". I then mentioned right away that "I would have to get my wallet to get U the other Bank names" = these Bozo's just luv that. He then asked "do U have any statements?" I said "Yeah I could go get them." He said he "would wait so I could get them." I said "OK I will get them." = This is right where I wanted him, waiting for me. (At this point the scammer Idiot is just salivating with anticipation of all the info I am gonna provide him). So a bunch of minutes later, I came back on the phone and said, "I got them" and before he could say a thing I blew my "Trusty SCAMMER HORN" into the receiver about 10+ times and then I went back to listen and asked him "Do U Here Me NOW". He started to say something and I immediately went back to the horn and continued to blow on it continuously for another 2-3 minutes. Went back to check again and the SCAMMER was gone.

Do not want these calls. Why do they bother to have a DO NOT CALL list when it either dosen't work or they get through the system by changing their names or selling info.

This is what I do when they call.  I engage the caller and tell him that I owe about $12,000 between three different cards.  The interest rate is above 18 percent but I dont remember exactly the amount.  When they start to ask for account numbers, I tell them that I am concerned about doing this because I dont know who they are.  They could tell me any thing about who they are but I have no way of knowing if what they are telling me is true.  Every time, they say hold for a supervisor and I do this and when the supervisor comes on the line I continue with my concerns as to how I am to know who they are.  After about five minutes of this, I tell him that every time they call I will play this game with them and occupy as much of their time as I can until they actually put me on their do not call list.  I get anything from a click hangup to a long line of profanities that simply invokes laughter from me for I know how much I have upset them.  If enough people do this, they will install a do not call list proceedure that actually works.

'Card Member Services' calls using various numbers at least 3-4x/week.  I usually try and talk to someone so I can keep them on line for a while but theyn usually hang up as they did today.  This number 360-474-3977 actually connects to a line that gives you the opportunity to 'take your number off our list.'  Which of course is bogus as they will call even more.  Obvious phishing scam to get your info.  Another popular number they use is 818-798-1988.

Recorded message to "lower your credit card interest".  Pressed 1 to speak to a representative, who started the call with "You would like to lower your credit card interest, is that correct?"  I got about as far as "Hello, I'd like you to-" and he made a coughing noise and hung up on me.

Tell them to stop calling us hard-of hearing elderly citizens. We don't use credit cards. We don't owe money. We pay only in cash for food, etc.

This is not a legitimate business, and it is most definitely not Capital One. I don't have a Capital One account and the incoming call was from HFCA. Regardless, it's the same type of scammer trying to get your credit card information. Don't answer, block or ignore as I do for all calls that don't come from known persons.

The fact alone that this number has a bazillion different caller ids but uses the exact same tactics as the other bazillion credit card scammers should tell you something.

Oh, and of course they didn't leave a message. Reported to DNC (have time to waste today and I'm bored).

This site needs a new Call Type named "Scammer".

These folks are scammers, give them no information whatsoever - just hang up.  If you have the ability to block the number go for it, but know that they change their numbers *FREQUENTLY*.  These are likely spoofed/fake numbers.  I see their numbers rotate to something new at least once a month - but the area code stays pretty consistent - they are using numbers from the Washington/Seattle area typically.

The DNC registry is useless against these types of scammers, and it's likely going to do you no good to report the number, since it's likely spoofed as noted.  Take a deep breath, and hang up, or just don't bother answering, and you'll save yourself a headache.

Same story - I received a call, pressed 1 and the jerk hung up on me before I could complete the "put me on the do not call list".  I believe this practice is actually illegal.

Got call from 360-474-3977 @ 3:07pm 30JUL2012 on [un-listed / non-published] landline phone [registered on the FTC 'Do-Not-Call' list]. Caller ID: HFCA. No voice message left on answering machine. SOP @ this house is to let all calls go to answering machine. Can choose if / when to return calls to only those who leave a proper voice message on answering machine.

Credit Card Robo rip-off call.  It calls ever month or so.  These are not telemarketers - they are crooks.

Called me 7/31/2012 at 6:29PM central time.  I answered on the second ring, said hello, after 15 seconds of silence, I hung up.  Then I went to Google and learned I'm not the only one...!

Got a call today on my landline, didn't answer it and they didn't leave a message.  Ony calls I get on the LAN line are tele marketers.  Gonna get rid of the line soon as its just a waste of money.

Robo call are illegal.  Why does my government not stop them?  I can only assume my congressmen are being paid off.
