To Caroline: Hope this helps with your problem from bad redials.

I have been getting a string of calls from various numbers in Washington. Reports indicate that they are all advertising a cruise trip. If anyone gets a call from the numbers below, they are probably the same people that called you from this #, using a different phone line. These calls tend to be masked by a fake Verizon message saying that the line is not in service, or a busy tone. Here is my list so far, but I'm sure there's more. Stay on the alert with your caller identifiers and NEVER answer these calls. They are tracking when you call, and collecting data about your number after the first call.

I am trying to post this on as many of these # pages as I can. As I said, they are probably all the same person looking for a cheap way of either advertising, or siphoning money from someone.

unfortunately now people can make calls and make it look like it came from somewhere else which is why some people may actually be calling the right number but yet not the right number.  I would explain to the phone company why you are changing number they may not charge you for changing the number.

I keep getting a phone call from the number:  441-8036 . This is exactly how it shows up on call display. Try and call it back and get a busy signal. I answered and a man said hello but I hung up before they kept talking. I am confused on this number.

Who is the proper agency to report these phone calls to?..........!?............!? Please reply to this comment if you know.

I have T-Moble and when I get these telemarkers call me I have an option to block that phone #. If one company can do this why can't all phone co.'s do it?  Put those b*****ds out of busness.

Asking or begging telemarketers to stop calling does not work.
Attempting to contact them is impossible.
Filing a complaint with the FTC takes years.
Getting angry or upset just makes it worse.
Complaining  on message boards accomplishes nothing.

You have two options:

1. Ignore the calls and continue to be harassed.
or
2. Answer the call, pretend you're interested and WASTE THEIR TIME.

Wasting a telemarketer's time is the most effective thing you can do because it disrupts their scam.

I get a call once a day from this number!  I never answer it and they don't leave a message.  I tried to call it back and it's always busy.

360-477-0875 Called me 5 min ago- I didn't answer and it left no voicemail.  I immediately added it to my cell phones rejected numbers list.  Heh!  I won't be hearing from that number again!

This number called my cell phone last night. Didn't answer.

I realize they chose it randomly. Unfortunately some call it back without using redial and switch the position of the two numbers on the area code.  I left a message explaing this on my voicemaiil yet still have received threatening messages.  Someone has listed my actual number on a thread based on their error.  Peolple should pay more attention.  I shouldn't have to change my number.  Thankfully I haven't received any mew calls in the last hour so hopefully they have been shut down or switched to another number.  Good luck to the next lucky recipient of a one digit different number...

I got one of these calls on a cheap, pay-by-the-call phone I only use for talking to my wife.  No one else even has the number!  Didn't answer. The spammer likely has a database of active cell numbers and is just dialing any number.

Isn't it likely that the spammer is just spoofing Carolyn's number (listing it as the callerid number when it, in fact, is not that number)?

Carolyn's only solution may be to go through the pain of changing her own number.

I also received a call from this number! Two calls in two mins! Of course, I did not answer. I did a reverse number search thru white pages and it said it came back to an unpublished cell number out of Washington via Verizon wireless. I tried calling back. Immediate busy signal....BEWARE!!!!!

Anyone recently closed out an overdue account with verizon wireless?  As soon as I did, I started getting telemarketer calls from numerous numbers.  This one is just the latest.
