The New Rules For Robocalls

The FCC's new rules impose clearer requirements for how a business must obtain your consent before it may make a telemarketing call or send a telemarketing text message to you. The new rules require that you first give your written consent to receive such calls or messages, on paper or through electronic means, including website forms, a telephone keypress, or a recording of your oral consent.

Another change is that telemarketers will no longer be able to make telemarketing robocalls or send texts to you based solely on an "established business relationship" with you. You may establish such a relationship when you contact a business to ask questions or purchase something from a business.

The new rules also require telemarketers to allow you to opt out of receiving additional telemarketing robocalls immediately during a robocall through an automated menu. This new requirement means that you will not have to hang up and make a separate call in order to stop further telemarketing robocalls.

I don't know how many calls I get form this number, how do I stop, I am on the national do not call list.

I filed a complaint for this number plus 16 other numbers to the FTC for this Card Services. I have 12 of these numbers blocked on my phone. This Company has many numbers they call from including cell phone numbers. All we can do is keep filing these complaints with FTC and maybe they will catch up with this Company. I have been dealing with these people calling me since 2009. I have asked them to take me off their list and all they do is hang up on me. Time to shut this business down. I'm not sure what else to do. I called my Local Phone Co., talked to the Police and filed for the 3rd time on the "Do Not Call List". The Police advised me to file a complaint with the FTC I have done that.  I will be filing a complaint every time they call. I am on the FCC DO NOT CALLIST and the PA Ofc of the Attorney General Consumer Protection DO NOT CALL LIST. This number violated my rights and the confidentiality of both lists. I reported this incident to both Agencies and they both assured me they are on it and investigating.

Got a call today, didn't answer, never do.  I leave my ringer turned off.  Once in a while I check my caller ID to see which pests were active while I was going about my business.  When I've gotten a few, I check in here to see who they were.  If, once in a blue moon, a number I recognize is there I call them back.  I don't have a cell phone.  I don't know who I'd call if I did have one.  Someone mentioned that they couldn't afford caller ID.  As I recall when I signed up for it years ago it was $7.00 per month and worth every penny.  These creeps don't bother me.  I basically ignore them.  If their computer wants to call my number several times a day and never get an answer it's no skin off my nose.  I guess they eventually give up since I get fewer calls all the time.  Maybe my number made it to a {don't waste your time} list, if they exist  They probably do.  What scammer wants to pay for a number that never answers?

Instead of listening to the recorded message, I pressed 7.  After several rings a man answered.  He asked me "WHAT COLOR PANTIES ARE YOU WEARING?"!!!

Got a call from CNAM  360-529-6169 - 3/14/2012 2:00pm - they left a message however the message was very short - I deleted it since It made no sense.

As though I had large credit card bills/loans. At this moment I have no outstandind debts. Woke me out of a sound sleep.

Got this call feb 17, 2012.  Didn't answer because "CNAM" meant nothing to me.

Called today 02-14-12 at 10:50 a.m. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize.

These calls need to go away.  They are calling it seems when we have a credit card balance.  They are even answering when I press a key to stop calling me.  They come from different area codes and numbers I constantly report them to do not call registry and nothing seems to get rid of them.

Received numerous call from this number.  Finally, decided to press prompt 1 to get a live person so that I could ask to be put on DO NOT CALL LIST.  After pressing 1, a recording said I was number 37 in line.  Waited for 15 minutes, finally was the next in line.  No such thing.!!!!!!! It started all over again with number 37 in line.

Call rejection service only tips off the telemarketers to use a different number.  If I don't recognize the number on the caller ID, I won't even pick up.  The number of calls from these losers has declined.  If they always get the machine, they'll quit wasting their time.

Caller ID shows this call to be from CNAM  which I believe to be the bogus 'credit card services' with Rachel or Lisa or Bridget or whomever is part of the robo call.  CNAM numbers also include 253-246-8518 and 971-220-1994 just to name a few recent annoyance calls from them.

Tired of getting calls from "card services" - any way to stop them?

I received a call from this number today February 6 2012. Said I was late on my insurance and if I didnt pay them my car insurance would be cancelled. My car insurace is paid yearly so I knew it was a scam

I got a phone call from this number today February 6 2012. Said I was late on my car insurance and needed money right away so Insurance would not be cancelled. Didn't do it cause I just paid my insurance three weeks ago. Then searched the number and it brought me here. Must be someone running a scam trying to get money.

call is from company named american card services. At least that is name they used when I pressed 1

I have been getting these calls for a while.  I have pushed #1 and spoken to different individuals at different times asking them to remove my number from their calling list with no luck. What can be done about this!!!  Does anyone know the company doing the calling?  I want to file a suit against them, but don't have a name to make a complaint against.
