Ouch! Just now got this call which woke me up from a much-needed nap, and while I was tempted to pick up because it said "Wireless Caller," (and I didn't think these horrible people used cell phones to hawk their wares), I repeated my mantra to myself: "If it's from someone you know, they'll leave a message."
   I am so glad I did not pick up. Thank you everyone for posting--it is such a help to be able to tell which  numbers to block.

Scam. Wish we could put telemarketers out of business. We cannot stand these harassing, annoying calls all times of the day.

Scam selling Medic Alert. Many calls for past month. One caller called me twice from New Jersey (selling Medic Alert). On the second call I told her I would report her if she did not stop calling me.  She called me all types of names ( unacceptable language) then she said I have your address and I will hunt you down and kill you.

I just block all the calls now after I listen to the message.  I am in business and have to  really listed to the messages from the caller. A real problem when you are expecting calls and you have to  monitor your incoming calls. I am on the Do Not Call list but this does not make a difference. I keep receiving calls.

Got a beep for call waiting.  Did not take the call.  This number showed up on my caller ID.

Saw as wireless caller on id. Answered the phone it was for a medical alert equipment. Hung up. Called back. I heard an automated message that this was a disconnected Verizon cell number. Ok now time to notify Verizon about their numbers being used for scams!! Somebody has to take responsibility for these calls. I also get them on the cell phone so getting rid of home phone would not help. Block all you want. They switch numbers constantly to keep from getting prosecuted as scammers. Is there anyone out there with legal advice on how to report this to someone who will actually do something about it? DoNotCall list is useless as we have all ascertained.

called by name and started with "you bi***" ... unacceptable caller, immediately blocked and reported. Shame on you!

Just received call saying I would get free medical device.  Had already been warned of this caller by friend in Seattle.  They seem to be hitting San Diego market now.

SCAM!!!

Caller ID said "Cell Phone  WA."  I was expecting a call, so I picked up without checking the caller ID first.  [Note to self -- DON'T DO THAT AGAIN!]   :-)   Anyway, it was a recorded message telling me that I had been selected (Wheee!) to receive an alarm system.  I hung up before she even finished that sentence.  SO IRRITATING!

They are correct, charities, market surveys with no solicitation for sale of goods or services, political calls and collection agencies are all exempt from using the DNC list to screen numbers to be called.  And of course scammers never cared about any laws to begin with.

I was told that organizations asking for donations are exempt from from DNC list.  My phone #'s have been on the DNC list for several years and I do not get telemarketer calls.  Organizations asking for money...I do get those calls.

this needs to stop..isnt there a lawyer that can help with a class action suit

Harassing us constantly, pretending to have a "free" offer for something. Really tired of paying for a personal phone service that is used mostly by 3rd world criminals.

This number has been calling our house for weeks.  It's some sore of sales calls.  Obviously, the DNC list is useless since we continue to get these types of calls all the time.  Very aggravating!

Called and now blocked!! Usual scam of hang up so you will call back!! Instant block!!!

Spam call trying to sell Medic Alert equipment.  2 calls within 15 minutes of each other.

scam soliciting magazine subscriptions at 200% more than renewing directly with publisher. Also they ad other mysterious charges for mystery services.
