this time around they want to speak with "the person in charge of maintenance"......idiocy

Rcv'd this scam call a few min ago, showing "Local Web" on the caller ID.  Just like Jay above, I also had the "this Verizon wireless number has been changed, disconnected, or is no longer in service" message when I called back less than 5 minutes later.

I immediately filed a complaint with donotcall.gov, and, like jetames, I added the number to my block list.  For blocking, I've been using phonetrayfree for about a year, and it's great!

The free version is no longer offered, but there is an enhanced pro version offered on phonetray.com now. Even the version I'm using is totally customizable, and allows unlimited logging and blocking by name, partial name, numbers and area codes, with many more options including the use of wild cards. For instance, I block almost all toll-free numbers, and any CID name that starts with V0.  The phone rings once, the CID records the info, and the call is blocked.  If the call is legimate, I can add that number to a "white list" to allow future calls to come through normally.

PhoneTray does need a modem (remember those?) which used to be a standard connection on desktops and laptops.  Newer models without a modem port can use a USB modem, available through the site or on Amazon or other electronics stores.  (I think a USB modem is about $30, and the software is about $30.)

Hmmm...maybe the NSA should track these scam calls (just for practice) and give the info to the donotcall.gov group at the FTC so they can be tracked and fined!

They called my home line this time - yesterday, they called my business line and were blocked.

On my business lines, I have the Digitone Call Blocker (bought thru Amazon.)  This little device not only blocks individual numbers it can BLOCK ENTIRE AREA CODES.  I now have the ENTIRE 360 AREA CODE BLOCKED.   Washington state and Oregon seem to have become the telemarketer (and meth?) capitol of the USA.  To that end, I have ALL OF THE AREA CODES assigned to Washington state BLOCKED...I believe there are 5 ? anyway, they are all blocked.  No more calls from the great North-West.  
As of today, I HAVE 36 AREA CODES BLOCKED!!!

For our home line, I recently got the new Panasonic wireless phone that blocks 250 numbers - previously we had the Panasonic phone that blocked "only" 30 numbers.

I'm certain that we have blocked at least 100 numbers so far in the 2 months that we have had the new Panasonic.  When the phone fills up - which I'm sure it will - I will simply delete the oldest number(s).

BTW these devices block all "PRIVATE", "UNKNOWN" & "OUT of AREA" calls.  On the rare occasion that we do receive a blocked call - the phones DO NOT RING!  Our previous Panasonic phone would ring 1 time to let us know when a blocked call came in.  The new Panasonic does not ring at all - same thing on my business lines using the Digitone Blocker.

If everyone gets a call blocking phone or device - we can put these a-holes out of business!

I received a call from this number on Monday, July 15, 2013 a couple hours past noon. The caller ID said it was from "LOCAL WEB." I returned the call on July 18 and received an automated message from Verizon that said "the number has been changed, disconnected or is no longer in service."

I get these all the time.  I wanted to get to the bottom of it.  Punched buttons.  Got a human and when I told him I don't want them to call  again because I know how to market my business myself, he hung up.  

These are rude, low-life thugs who harrass legit businesses and who take advantage of STUPID PEOPLE on a daily basis.  If people didn't buy into their scam, these SEO businesses would fold and we'd have no more problems.  

As long as there are stupid people, we'll all be plagued.

Sounds to me like blocking the call will do no good.  They are randomly calling from cheap free give away phones to roll off your number to avoid charges.  Creating a phantom line that they can bill anything to similar y to bridge and conference technology.  Needs to be recoursed back through bell core with telephone numbers from both ends of the scam.  
360 633-9039 was the source of the nusiance call made to my cell 205 500-6709 abour ready to change my number I work nights... All calls are nuisances if they disrupt your REM sleep.

The same Google type "scam."  A message told me how important it was to speak with business owner because our "Google Plus" listing was "unclaimed."  Yeah, right.  Message went on and on or a bit before it urged me to press 1 to speak with a "local Google Plus representative" or two to be removed.  I pressed 2 and got ANOTHER recording, telling me how our customers can't find our business through an online search and so on and so forth.  Then it said, if the number was not a business, to press 9.  I pressed 9 long and hard.  I'm sure they'll call again and again.  In the meantime, I will report them, as usual, seeing their automated message was not in conformation of FCC requirements.

Spam call about Google Listing.

Is from a company claiming that they have "...Been trying to reach you for some time as your Google Local Listing has not been claimed" then offers you the chance to connect to agent to verify if the listing has been claimed or not. (Love their immediate contradiction!) LOL! As I knew my listing HAD been claimed (some time ago) and I was not interested in their SPAM I selected option 2 to "Have your name removed" from their list. Upon selecting option 2 it then continues with MANY additional questions about your present marketing trying to continue to sell you their services. I finally reached a live agent and had my name (supposedly) removed this way... As with all of these calls... VERY Annoying.

I just got a call from that number.  When I tried to call it back I got the recorded message that that Verizon number has been disconnected.

Called on 07/12/2013 @ 01:16 PM from Olympia, WA. Caller ID shows Local Web. I ignore every call from the state of Washington. 100% have been verified as scams from Caller ID or 800Notes. This was probably just another Google imposter claiming to get you to the first page on Google. I have gotten dozens of calls from Local Web from various (306) #'s.

I keep getting these recorded calls from google plus.  They keep calling from different numbers.  What can be done?

No one there when I repeatedly said "Hello".  Then the line went to a busy signal.

They called and they were blocked.

Washington state is not only the meth capitol of the USA it is now the telemarketer capitol of the USA.

Everyone buy a call blocking device; they're inexpensive and they WORK!

SPAM Caller Trying to sigh up people for Google+, what a pain.

The message said something about Google maps before I hung up.  We are on the do not call list both state and federal.  Why are these companies allowed to harass people who have specifially stated they do not want these types of calls??

Robo call FROM GOOGLE advising my Google + Listing had not been claimed - important that I speak with Google representative.  Recognized scam but played along to get to live person to ask to be removed from list.  When person answered I requested removal from list. told him I was upset that his Robo call began with a lie.  He then told another lie that is"when I Google Virginia Beach Bed and Breakfast you do not show"   Told him to stop telling lies and just remove me from list  at which point he hung up on me!

this number is from Google+ and its band of telemarketers telling you that your business has a web site that needs to be claimed on Google+. guess it is so popular they need to call you to remind you..

being on the "national do not call registry" is a joke. Google ignores this.

Recorded message from "Jennifer," a Google Plus Local Specialist. I'm in Connecticut and the phone number is in Western Washington State. "Chris" picked up and said he is in California. When I correctly identified the telephone number, "Chris" hung up. Call ID says "LOCAL WEB"

Google listing baloney!

360-529-6920 per Caller ID  -Number that is being spoofed by unknown Party. Call back that number and you get a recording that it is in Verizon's bank as not being used.  Definitely a Scammer spoofing the number.  Beware!

Didn't answer. Said wireless caller. No message when answering machine picked up.

Call shows from Stanwood, Washington: 360-529-6920... obviously a scam/or telemarketing call.

Recording about Google+ listing has not been claimed. Urgent!  I hung up on them.

Call showing as "Stanwood, Washington".  Silence, no message.  Several calls a week.  Can't seem to block them.

Rec'd call regarding Google ads.  How do I get off this list!  I get 5-7 every week.
