This number called me today, no name on caller ID, only wireless 3608686716.   They asked for my daughter by first name, when I said she wasn't here, he then proceeded to ask for Mr. X my deceased husband.  When I said he wasn't available, I asked who was calling, he said Pete and quickly said I'll call back later and hung up the phone.

I seldom answer the phone anymore but I answered the "wireless caller" 360-868-6716.  He is "Alex" from "Washington State Troopers Association" wanting donation for fallen troopers etc.  I declined.  I also like to research organizations before I make a donation.

Update to my last. I talked to the caller/ boilerroom caller. They're NOT representing the WSP, and as I suspected LESS than 7 % goes to the actual WSP. He wouldn't say actually where the rest is going, and hung up when he realized he was talking to a 'dry well'.

Just a tip you're kdding yourself if you think the WSP is calling you.It's most likely a telemarketer that gives less than 5% to the organization. That way they can avoid the"DO NOT CALL" restrictons

Just got a call from the number DuJour. Called back and got the ' I'm away from my desk' answer, so I popped off about 100 '#' tones for the voice with no body to listen to. It might be nice if the voice would be out doing WSP stuff instead of asking for donations. With our tax rate and all the extra fees Olympia dumps on us there should be plenty of money for the State Patrol.

These jokers caught me unaware - had a Washington number and I was expecting a call so I answered it.  A fellow asked how I was doing, then proceeded to tell me he was from the Washington State Patrol.  I interrupted him and said that we do not accept calls like this, and he interrupted me and said "You don't understand.  I'm not selling anything."  I said "I know you are not selling anything.  You are calling to ask for donations and I just told you we don't accept this kind of call.  We never donate to requests that come through phone calls."  He began to say something else, and I hung up on him.  What part of "no" don't they understand?  Even if this was legit, which I doubt, research shows that most of the money goes to the outfit making the calls and little goes to the charity they say they represent. For this reason, we donate only to charities we have researched.  If I wanted to donate to Washington State Patrol, I would send THEM a check.

Several calls from this number.....never a message.

Got several calls from this number over the past week.. I don't answer and they don't leave a message. The caller id says Washington State, however the caller id just says "868-6716" with no area code. I tried to block this number through centurylink call rejection and it says that number can't be blocked? Wth??

I'm afraid this is the kind of thing to expect from this state. If I was blindfolded, and some of the recent things were
described, I' d figure we were talkng Illinois (Chicago corruption/ Detroit privation), or Mississippi.

Constantly getting calls from this number and have no idea why.

I am also getting phone calls from this number, no one is on the line then it clicks off, if you call the number to ask to be removed you get a recording.  

Same issue here, answered because local and friends in that area, hung up when I answered. Hate this stuff?

Also got a call from this number. Have caller ID saying from Shelton,WA. On DNC list. Do not know anyone from Shelton. Picked up phone and hung up right away.

What kind of scam is this...when we answer does this open a door to use our phone line? Or checking to see if someone home? Creepy!

4/16/14 6:20pm - caller disconnected when I picked up - no idea who caller is.

Someone called my business from this number which its caller ID showed as "WA State". He left a message with nothing except loudly and rudely YELLING "hello? hello! hello!!" WTF!! I called the number back and went straight to his voicemail: "I'm not able to answer the phone or away from my desk. leave you name and phone number"

Got a call from this number (360-868-6716) at 12:17pm on a Tuesday. Tho it's a "local" area code for me, they left no message and I didn't pick up (didn't recognize the number). Number doesn't come up in any searches, so maybe it's another telemarketer? I get 'carpet cleaning' scam calls from the 360 area code all the time so wanted to post this in case it's a new one. Caller ID said "Washington Stat" (state).
