He just tried to scam me. He used a house in Fayetteville, GA. Lucky for me I did some research and found this site. If it looks too god to be true, it is. I can't wait to respond to his email!! I'm going to have fun with this.

Yep, EXACTLY the same thing, but for a home in Morgantown, WV, going by the name of Ben Riggs.  When I dug a little deeper, it looks like he just lifted a listing right from Zillow.  I knew it was too good to be true -- thankfully I noticed that it seemed a little fishy and did my research before getting too deep.  Here are both of the emails I received from him:

I am currently working as a counselor for the United States Aid for International Development (US-AID) here in Pensacola, FL. After I replied and asked for info on looking at the house, I received the following:


"Thanks for the interest in my house. You will have to go and look the house from the outside because I'm presently in Pensacola, FL with the keys right now, You can also look through the windows and I attach the pictures along with the email. Kindly get back to me after you have gone to look it from the outside so that I can send you the rental application if you're interested in renting the house. Thanks"

<lewiswachsman@yahoo.com> "Lewis" is running this scam in Decatur, GA also.  The text of his message is worded in exactly the same way as the one pasted above. He had a Google map on the Craigslist ad.  I actually drove by to check it out and it looks like the same place to me. When I got a reply by email three days later, the grammar and misuse of English tipped me off that he was a scammer. I did a little more checking, found this site and flagged him on Craigslist.  The number he used is (540) 737-8114 ( 540 737 8114 ).

he is going by Michael luscre in Marietta ga. same scheme, email and phone number (540) 737-8114

This guy is hitting wv now to. I'm so thankful I found this post before everything went any further. I'm taking copies of this post and  the back and forth texting  and filing a police report tomorrow

Here in Sacramento he is using the name Antonio Torres. And the phone number is 540-737-8114. I did a reverse lookup and was surprised it was actually a landline, which is stupid since those can be traced. I weed expecting it to be a burner cell. I'm not sure who to report this to.

I just found the same guy! He's going but the name of Michael Diamant and he's trying to sell in Los Angeles, Ca.

My husband and I are trying to find a house or apartment for rents, I been getting three replies same emails but different names all claim they work for United States Aid for International Development.  The states are listed different too, but the houses they are selling is in my state, I google it in other sites, it not the same prices the scammers listed them for.  For example they trying to sell the house for like 800 or 900 for 3 or 4 bedroom, I look it up, the marketing site listed them for over thousand for buying it.  Isn't there a law or something to stop them?  It make it harder for us to find a house or apartment without getting scam.

He is currently doing one for a house in Clearwater fl by the name of Walter maxwell

He also had a yahoo number and an outta country accent. he sent me the same add that is up there about a promotion. He said his assistant was Michael Bennett and had me send to Chesapeake VA. The rental I thought I was getting was in Tulsa ok and is actually for sale. the number he used this time was 5714030794

He's still at it, trying to rent property in Noblesville, Indiana. This time he's going by Andrew Farmer.

Also, I pretended that I was interested in the property and e-mailed him asking for more information. When he replied with a similar e-mail response, like the others, I said "Thank you for confirming that this is a scam." And that he would need to wire the money back to my family within 45 minutes and that he knows who I am referring to. I received an e-mail from him saying:

"I don't know who you're talking about because i scammed a lot of people to take a flight and be back in my country. Pakistan. Thanks to your family that helped me in getting back home."

Those are his exact words. This will definitely be shown to the prosecutor.

This man is going by the name of Juan Ramirez here in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The house it was for was 505 Bradfield Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46825. My family and I did not find out this was a scam until after we gave him the money. Please, I beg anyone looking for a home to DO YOUR RESEARCH. My parents received a call from the numbers 361-248-8871 and 540-737-8114. Do not trust anyone UNLESS they are able to meet you in person with the keys to show you the house. My family is furious and will be going to the prosecutors office with this and we will be showing everything to them. My mother also received the exact same e-mail from this scammer.

This same guy tried to scam my neice in Arizona. He is going by the name Micheal Bennett. He sent the same message as below to my neice. Very eager to get the money or "he will pass the house to another interested family". Be very careful everyone!

He has an accent and always wants you to email him. Also, when you call this phone number, a Google answering service will answer and say to leave your name and he will be reached. It will them tell you to leave a message.

This same craigslist ad is in York pa for the exact house description above and he is going by Michael Bennett in Va. Please be careful. I emailed him but that was it. I am thankful I didnt go any further. I googled the phone number and found this website.

Thank you all for the information. Unfortunately I was about to rent the property in Kenosha, Wisconsin until I spoke with "Guy Sauceda" today and he asked me to send him the rental deposit via Western Union to a Michael Bennett in Chesapeake, Virginia even though I have never heard of this guy before and the number they are calling from is a landline in Texas. Total Scam and it has been reported to my local police department! So glad I found this out before I wired any money.

This same guy is also trying to rent a house in Lincoln, NE and is going by the name Jason Peterson.

My email was exactly the same as the one above but with the name of Guy and Janet Sauceda. The property is in Kenosha, WI and is a 3 bdrm 1 bath. He lists the number as Janet's and his is the same. Hopefully no one falls for theis

This guy is on craigslist!  Look out for someone who says they are unable to show you a house b/c they are out of state, but tells you you can drive by and look at the house.  He uses all kinds of different names, he was Gary Shelton with me.
