My suggestion is DON'T answer the call when it shows up on the caller ID or if your sitting next to the phone when the call comes in just answer after the first ring and immediately hang up.

Caller ID shows 'Clothing Pickup'

I have donated to Veterans in the past but stopped after being drown with requests.

The name and number usually show up on my caller ID twice a day a few times a week.

I had been missing calls from this number for days now.  Answered today and it is indeed paralyzed veterens saying that a truck will be in my area Wednesday and could I help them with clothing or small household items.  I told them that I was not ready to do that and blocked the number.  He was nice but I don't need to be receiving calls that I am not interested in.

"you are a telemarketer, and I don't do business with any company that uses telemarketing as a form of advertising" (stolen from a comment on this web site -- I love it).  And do not answer name unavailable ever as calls are now starting to say that often.

Let me explain my idea of robo calls. Each area code has 9,999,999 numbers fyi (7 digits). The program starts calling every number that it can in succession.  So they don't need to buy or obtain lists from anyone.  I am going to copy and paste and post this info for each number that calls me for this web site.

Nothing is going to stop these scammers and lazy collection agency who call everyone with the same name instead of looking up the right one and all we can do is block them or use call forward selective..  DNC does not work when they are robo dialing all possible random numbers. The authorities can not or will not help either.

So, just block them, don't answer unknown calls, and continue using this great site for information to be in control of your own home and cell phone calls.  If it turns out that you did not answer a call from someone you know (number not on this site), just call them back.  No problem.  Its alot of work that I do (checking the number on this web site, blocking the caller, and making my own excel spreadsheet of numbers) but at least I FEEL like I have a little control of the situation. Maybe I'm delusional.

Caller ID reads, Clothing pickup.  I blocked the number.  I had unblocked it but the calls returned so, back to blocking the number.

Different name on my phone  ID.   "Clothing Pickup" followed by the the same
number 361-853-2117.  They call about 4-5 times a week then they will skip a week.
Usually within a few minutes of this call it's followed by  800-684-8429 (no name)

On 7/3  I called them back and requested that they remove my number from their robo-dialer and they said they would. On 7/7 (after 15 more calls) they finally stopped calling. Yesterday (7/30) it started again. I called them back and told them to stop calling me (permanently) or I would schedule a meeting with the city council and would voice my complaint. They apologized and said they would permanently remove my number from their list. I will wait and see. I keep a personal log with dates and times. These people are legitimate but very persistent and annoying.

Same as the other complaints.  They call about twice a day but will not say anything when you DO answer the phone.  And they will not answer when you call them back.  Getting pretty tired of it.

Last week I started getting calls from this number, and have continued reiceiving at least 1 to 2 calls every day since.

The first time they called, as soon as the phone rang I took a quick glance up onto my TV screen at the caller ID to see who was calling. First thing I saw was the word  PARALYZED  with letters  TX  in front of it and that it was a local call. Oh man My heart sunk to the pit of my stomach and I quickly jumped up to answer it thinking that something has happened to my Mother-In-Law, that she must have fallen down her stairs or something and was hurt. Just as I was about to pick up the phone I then saw that last word   VET.  on Caller ID..... "TX . PARALYZED VET."  Oh ok First thought then.....hmmm...  must be some kind of organization looking for donations.....I let out a big sigh of relief and started to feel my heart make it's way back up into my chest where it belongs, so I just as quick spun back around and didn't answer it, but for once was happy to receive that kind of call.

this number calls and hangs up at least twice a day.  When I call back they do not answer.  can you get me a name for this number

These people called at least twice EVERY day except Sunday.  Caller ID say TX PARALYZED VET so I assume it some kind of charitable organization but I am not about to answer to find out.  This has been going on for months.  Don't these people get the message?  I will not answer ever!!
