I have gotten multiple calls from that number but I never hear it ring. I always see later that I have multiple missed calls and they're all from the same number. I don't have the list from the days before but on 10/19 it was 7:50 pm, 10/20 it was 7:39 pm and on 10/21 I had two calls-8:25 pm and 6:41 pm. This cell phone # is on the do not call list. I think that list needs to be revamped.

Have called me four times. First time with survey that I played along with for a few minutes but it was long and pointless, so I told him not interested and hung up. Since then they call apologetically. Finally got them to hang up the last time with profanity and yelling. Hope that works, but if it didn't, it felt good.

f****ng bull s***. Number goes to a t-mobile switch. Cant get any further than that. T-mobile and cingular have a security issue for this kind of s***. Especially with SMS bots. I have some ability but not able trace. Told the f****rs that this was a Biz phone for local GOV. Dude on the other end scrambled to remove number from calling list. I have a Cell number in Calif and if we receive a 'spam' call we can report it and get out $$ back,. This could be a pre-paid connection as is possible. Still researching since I have my hand deep in the telecom world.

Notice the initials of the company which are made to order deceit and trickery "SSI" as in "social security income". It is easy to see how this all takes shape. The idea is to get by your defenses. Multiply you times a thousand, ten thousand etc. How to do this? Easy, call the consumer and have the call letters show up on the phone as SSI- many, many people will answer. Be deceptive, perhaps saying that you're calling from SSI and ask quick questions. The consumer may answer several before they realize you're not official, government but if they complain you throw your hands up and say (to the Feds) "were not selling anything we're exempt from the DNC." The especially nasty part of this treachery is that because someone is on the DNC list they figure they could not possibly be called by a telemarketer. Regardless of the garbage they throw this is a means of defeating the attempt to protect consumers.
To complete the picture politicians are delighted with themselves when it comes to toothless consumer laws. They can hit their opponents over the head with all that they are doing for their constituents and at the same time accept "legal" donations to their reelection campaigns from lobbyists desperately seeking to water down these bills before they become law.
Consider who wins-the politician has a clear and lucrative path for reelection. It's by no means a deal clincher but where else can you get votes, money and hit your opponent where it hurts? The consumer, of course, wonders what went wrong in that he's getting calls when he has DNC.
A fitting solution would be subjecting these corporate pirates to a little of their own medicine.

Someone from this number calls several times a day and they hang up after they say something unintelligible. The first time they called they claimed to be doing a political survey, now it is just random harassment phone calls.

Not a big deal to get calls from this company. I get them too. They are only doing surveys and they get hired by companies (lobbying firms, political consultants etc.) from across the country - hence the various responses you all get from them. If you don't want to answer the calls, don't! Why does it bother you all so much? It is just like getting junk mail. Toss the junk mail - don't answer what you don't recognize. Easy problem to solve.

Recieved two calls on my cell today. No voicemail left. Did not answer. Thought telemarketers were not aloud to call cells.

Nice try. No where close to the truth and this trick that you blame on Cuccinelli was bred in the mcaulife camp.

i don't know what you base your opinion on (candidate in va's gov race) but poll workers don't work thruout the nite. a misleading, erroneous satement. other comments more closely reflect the content of calls. my call came thru on a sat eve at 750 pm no message.

Got the same call in Northern Virginia. It tracks that it is a Ken Cuccinelli push poll. The Republicans in Virginia are a seedy and malicious group, and Cuccinelli, our bribe taking Attorney General, is one of the worst. Repubs were all over the phone services here in 2012 with their push polls. They also used the "unavailable" number trick where you can't block the calls. It is a long way to November for us.

Called at 9:30pm Pacific time. Said "I am not a telemarketer" I said no thanks we aren't interested and hung up. They called back 15 minutes later. The number comes up as Utah.

Got call tonight, and looked on 800notes - thanks for warning - in my saved #'s as "SCAM!"
The term you are looking for is "push poll." It is regarded as boarder line illegal, negative campaign tactic which disguises a negative political message in the form of what appears to be a legit poll. The purpose is to subvert voter opinion against whatever or whoever the ones who are paying for the intrusive calls are targeting. you can find out more @ wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_a_Push_pull_survey.
At best, this is a telemarketing company who does shady business. At worst, it's political skull drudgery funded by people who don't give a d**n about letting you think for yourself. Dirty politics!

Recd call about 1815 this evening, female did not ID herself or company, simply asked "Is there an adult over 18 I can speak with?" I said, "Yes, please take me off your call list." She said, "You said yes, you said yes!" I said, "No, I said please take me off your call list!" She said, "You said, yes!" and hung up. Pretty weird. So I called 385-207-7030 back and listened to the recording. Was directed to SSI, surveysampling.com. From their website: "To opt-out, please email us at optout@surveysampling.com (please include the phone number in the body of the email) or call 866-360-9563 to be placed on our no-contact list. If you would like to speak to someone about the call you received, you may contact us toll-free at 866-360-9678." I called the 9678 and left VM that the caller didn't ID herself, didn't say what she wanted, only cackled "You said, yes!" and hung up. Said do not call back.

Just asked some questions about whether I had heard of local charities and whether I had ever given to United Way. The survey was very brief, and nobody ever asked for money. The caller ID said Utah, and as you might be able to see below, the call really was from Utah.
Painless survey, not a scam.
They do seem to have obnoxious dialing equipment because it takes a long time to be connected with a person once you answer.

File a compliant if they call before 8am or after 9pm local time. They called me last night at 9:40. Asked for a registered voter.
