These jerks are using a string of phone numbers that show up as UTAH on caller id.  The number that called me was 7058.  Didn't answer, didn't leave message.

I received a call from this number earlier this evening about 6, then another call about 5 minutes. Picked up, and didn't say a word heard a beep, and they hung up. Blocked them just now.

Received a call from these bottom dwellers, at home.  Blocked with *60.  Filing complaint with FCC.

I have a couple of ways to deal with these parasites. First, I let the phone ring three full times before I pick up. I pick up and don't say anything for 2-3 seconds. If it is a computer autodialer, 80-90% of the time the computer will hang up thinking it has gotten a voice mail or answering machine. After 2-3 seconds, I say our company name, but don't give out my name. That way they don't automatically have a name if they call back and get someone else. If I still get a person and they insist, I tell them my name is "Richard Smith"(it's not). It is none of their business what my real name is, they are telescammers who are breaking the law. If they persist in calling over and over again, I tell them that my boss is available, and then I use a sports air horn right next to the phone. What are they going to do, sue me? "Your Honor, I was illegally telescamming and they deafened me!" Good luck with THAT argument. The judge might give me a medal. Reporting these "people"(I use that term loosely) to the Do Not Call Registry is futile, they are usually spoofing their phone number anyway. If you have the time, have some fun with them. See how long they will stay on hold or still be on the line if you put the phone down. Take your cordless into the bathroom and have an extended "deposit" at the Porcelain Bank, complete with very loud fake sound effects. Tell them you ARE the boss and listen to their sales pitch, never saying yes to anything, but always saying that you will look at your numbers and see what you can do. Some scammers will record any affirmative answer you give and then splice it into a call and bill you for whatever they are selling, using that as evidence of an order. Waste as much of their time as you can, because that keeps them from scamming other people, and it can be a really fun stress reliever! Anything that we can do to make this less profitable for these ticks on the butt of humanity is a plus. Feel free to pass this on or add to it with your fun ways of taking back your phone lines. If these idiots would get a real job, the world would be a better place for all of us.

The fact that they don't show who they are on the caller id puts them in violation of the DNC registry. I do agree with what others have said here about filing complaints with the registry being pointless and the post about it being "feel good government legislation" is accurate I believe. That being said, I recently signed up for Nomorobo and the amount of spammer/phishing calls has dropped dramatically. It's free and I strongly suggest it.

Whatever you do DO NOT answer these calls!  The are calling people on the DNCL anyway, when you answer they have a confirmed LIVE NUMBER....which they then SELL to other companies who disregard the Do Not Call List.  Report them to the FTC website.

Hung Up when I answere the telephone.  Wonder why they bother to call if they just hang-up when the call is answered.  Low-Lifes I suppose!!

I think as long as they aren't "selling" you something.....they don't fall under the do not call list. Received a call on my cell early this evening but didn't answer, they didn't leave a message. This is getting so out of hand.....telemarketer calls all day and evening! Grrrrrrr

Folks....  the Do Not Call Registry is just another useless piece of Federal Govt feel good legistlation, that has absolutely no substance, never has...  Kinda like the "Close" door button on an elevator... its there to make people feel and think like they are doing something and have some control of something... Yeah it might light up when pushed.... but its not actually hooked up to any relay or switch that does what it indicates...  the call registry is basicly the same... It gives you the impression you have some recourse because the Feds say so... but it doesnt work or actually do anything...  the thousands of posting and compaints on web boards such as this clearly shows us that....  Besides most spammers can mask their identity on caller ID's so you really dont know who or where the call is actually coming from... people call the indicated number back and many times you get a disconnected, or not in service recording... case in point... Also the fact that surveys, and political anything calls, which are usually the most annoying to us... are exempt from the registry use rules....  with the political launching of the so called affordable health care act... we can anticipate these types of political survey calls to steadily increase....

These people have called from two different numbers over the past two days. I am on the Do Not Call Registry but this seems to be a survey company. Unfortunately, political, charitable, and surveying organizations are exempt from the DNCR.

The caller spoke in broken English.  Unable to identify the accent, too much noise in the background (call center I'm guessing).  Caller asked for me by my nickname which was a little unnerving.  I verified my name and told the caller to REMOVE MY NAME AND NUMBER FROM THEIR CALL LIST.

Called at 8:17pm said that she is from SSI and is doing a survey on work ethics. I told her that I do not work and she said goodbye and hang up.

After seeing this on caller ID a few times I answered. Two short toot on a whistle, then nothing

I received a call from this number and it was a survey company that does professional surveys on behalf of other companies. Companies and government agencies contract them to conduct surveys at random. I usually do not take the time to participate in these types of surveys, however since I was out of town and staying in a hotel room with nothing to do, I decided to go ahead and complete the survey which lasted 27 minutes. However they were very generic with their questions and did not require me to give them personal information.

Quick question to those being bothered by this and other out of state numbers, Are these CELL PHONE numbers or LAND LINE numbers. I keep getting these on my cell and its very frustrating.

Got a call last Thur around 8:07 PM lady's name was Cortez from a survey company doing surveys for company ethics. Stayed on line for 1/2 hr answering ethics questions about my company. never asked for any company name or personnel info, only asked for my first name. Caller sounded either Hispanic or Indian but was easy to understand. Called my company about it later and told them what happened. Tey're looking into it.

this number 385-207-7058 has been calling my cell number every 12 hours for three days straight, I am furious, I am on the Do not call list and these idiots are ignoring that fact. Why have an unlisted number if they can just call anyways! They are now on my blocked list. TIP: if your phone does not allow you to block calls (many do not), do this trick, make an address book enry called zBlocked (the z will put it at the end of your list), then add to it all numbers like this. Now, assign a silent ringtone. It wont stop it from showing up in your call history, but you will no longer hear it ring at least!

They called, no message left. Called the # back, got a recording stating they are a legitimate survey company (www.surveysample.com). No option to have my number removed, so calling that # was a waste of time and money.

As Brian said above, you can call their toll free # (866-360-9678) and leave a message asking for your number to be removed.
