"final" chance to get an extended car warranty!

Called to say that my car warranty was about to expire...  When I asked what company he hung up.

we recieved these on our cell phone now as well as our home phone. Same scam with different phone numbers on the caller ID.

In Responce to the post about the guy claiming to be from the FCC.

We got a call from this guy about 6:am our time in Ca - His number comes up private caller. He called 3 times back to back not leaving a message and then called back at 7:00 am left a message and said his name was Gary Jones from the FCC and we were to call him back imediatly! So we called the FCC direct and got the answering service . So our message to them was why would the FCC call anyone at 6:00 in the morning from a private number when we have to disclose ours? There responce was , they would have Mr Jones call us back, havent heard back yet and it is now 8:30 hmmm.I'll let you all know if they every call back.

Do what I do and just make fart sounds until they hang up!

Welcome to my world, I've been saying for the last year that these people are scammers.However tonight is the last straw, I finally decided to do anything and everything I can to stop this and that's how I found this site.It started at work, I would find messages on an after-work emergency pager constantly 2/3 times a week so I kindly called, pressed 1 for a service member and informed them this was a business # please stop calling, for a moment they did then it started again so I just deleted and ignored the messages.Now that it's happening at home Ive had enough,here in VA they seem to start around 7:30 or so,my wife never answers but I get sick of it.I request service to speak to someone, greeted with the same request for info, I ask "if you're calling about my warranty exp. shouldn't you have this info?" he replies"stop b/sn and give me the make and year" interrupted by my demand not to call here again to which he says, "f#@% you A$$#@%$! On my own phone can you believe it? I guess you can you're on this site, welcome to my world, something has to be done, so trace any #from them , call the Better Business Bureau, the F.C.C., the police, news station and your phone co., refer them to this site and maybe with enough calls enough will finally be enough!

Just a thought... I want to annoy these people by keeping them occupied on the phone only to find out that I'm spouting meaningless drivel.. Some ideas... give them a make/model/year combo that doesn't exist ( and of course some random credit card number that can't possibly exist.. too few digits... too many.. see 'my blue heaven' ( "oh. just take off the 5." ).
it is, after all, their dime.
next time i'll act shocked and say 'my BENTLEY warranty is about to expire!?  oh heavens no!'  and then when they fish for the model/year i'll be sure it's one that never existed.   it's a vintage 58 R TURBO CONVERTIBLE!  how could you have never heard of it!?!

these people should be set on fire.

Called me at work on a US Government phone...

this is the third time i have had this number show up on my caller ID. don't know anyone in new smyrna, beach.  After reading the other messages one stuck out and caught my eye. I did answer one call it was about care warranty. Wanted me to get a new contract.  I DIDN'T EVER HAVE A CONTRACT;;;;;FRAUD DON'T YOU THINK.

This number had left 2 messages so my wife called it back and it was disconnected.

I have been getting the same phone calls from them about car insurance and credit card rates. They keep saying that its a final notice but it's never a final notice. When I got sick of them calling, I pressed 1 to talk to someone, they asked for my insurance information, and when I asked them who that call was for, they just hung up on me.

This phone call is def. a scam...they are trying to collect personal information from people.

I too keep getting these calls.  So tonight I wait for the guy to say,"This is Mike.  What is your make and model?"  Of course I told him if this truly was about my car he would already have that information so take me off your call list.  His response was "Nope"  I asked for his supervisor and he said, "Nope."  I wish I had my whistle close by.  That jerk would have a broken ear drum now.

Received several calls, no message.

these comments are great..helpful &funny too. i get calls from this number but they get filtered first & go straight to voice mail, so i dont have to take the call.

Vehicle warranty about to expire. I told them I had no idea why they were calling and he just hung up. Sounds like a scam to me.

about i have to pay car incarin or they will repo it and i do not have a car

hey i just got 1 on 3-23-2009 at 7 25 pm i live in alabama i made up a make and model and then he said i can do it for 5 years for two thousand dollar and then i ask for his name he told me his name is sam myer  then i ask for his number to call him back then he hung up i new he was lying cause the way he talk he had to think a minute about making up a name i wish i could put them in jail tell all your friends not to get involve with phone scam

I just got a call from that number about the final call extending my warranty. I pressed "1" because pressing 2 won't get you off the list---poor guy barely got his name out when I told him the phone calls have to stop....he hung up on me. (Now only if I could catch the idiots leaving the recorded messages on my cell....)

If anyone figures out how to get these phone calls to stop, let me know. (I'm in central ny)

Got the call that my warranty on my car was up and this was my final blah blah blah. My car is 20 years old, the warranty was up a LONG time ago. I pressed the "1" to talk to the operator - and asked the dude to remove my phone number from the call list. He said, "No." I was, like, "No!?!? What do you mean, you legally have to remove me if I ask you to." He said, "I'm not going to do it." I said, "Why not?" He said, "I don't have access to the call list." I said, "But you just called me." He said, "I can do it." I said, "Well, you must work for a company, right?" He said, "Yeah." I said, "So give me the name of your supervisor." He said, "He ain't going to remove you either." I said, "He ain't?" He said, "Ain't is a word. It's in the dictionary." I said, "So how are your kids?" He paused, and said, "I don't have any kids." I engaged him in a nonsensical conversation long enough to place a formal call trace. Just have to follow up on it tomorrow, and hopefully something will get done. If they call again, I'll give them all the personal information they ask for, but it will be tied in to the local police department as far as address, phone number, names... I can make up social security numbers and account numbers. It's a scam, not even a company I bet.

Have no idea who this guy is, but he's called several times. most of the time leaves a message about our car warranty expiring and we don't have any warranties...today they just hung up, but call id caught him.

I am also located in N. CA.  Started getting calls last week and they have continued.

I actually submitted a claim to the FCC about these creeps and the FCC couldn't do anything about it they said.  I talked to Josh today, I asked to talk to his boss, he said I am the boss, and that he makes $80,000 a week.  I said I had filed a complaint and he said it won't do any good, and that he could do what he wants as he has paid off a congressman.  What a creep he used some pretty terrible language.

Also from Northern Cali and receiving calls from this phone#.  I plan to report them, as well.

They are a sham, I asked for a 800 number and got 800 429 4897. Maybe its time to get them back?

I got a call from this number as well.  Its a message saying my warranty is expiring and its my final call.  I pressed #1 and the guy asked make and model of my car.  When I said, "you called me" the line went dead.....

I got the call and they asked me to choose option 1 or 2, but I did not press any # and they hang-up on me within 5 seconds.

Please help, they are ruining my life. Lots of complaints on here, but anyone have a solution as to what we can acutally do about it?

I get this call all the time.  They are complete scum.  Some car warranty scam.  I would love to have the gov't nail them but I don't know how.
