The people at this number (386 736 78962) have a recorded message that asked if I was facing foreclosure when they called today.  I hung up as soon as I heard that it was a recording.

It really makes me angry.  I'm on my State and the Federal Do Not Call List.

Can these people be prosecuted?

Lately I've been getting calls from Florida number (386) 736-7962 that I don't recognize. That number comes from Deland, Florida and It's some sort of boiler room scam. They never leave a message, they always wait for someone to pick-up. Don't pick-up.

you are being called by one of the companies owned by Mr Ran David Barnea and you can learn about these guys who harass the entire country every day by visiting the website heatherwithaccountservices.  One post says that Mr Barnea lives at 21955 Cypress Drive apt 48F in Boca Raton Florida.  The phone number left on your caller id means nothing---these guys leave fake numbers on caller ids so the public can't take action against them.  Mr Barnea may also be contacted at some of the other Boca Raton properties he apparently owns:

21612 Casa Monte Court
444 Wavecrest Court
and possibly 33 7TH Street

Just called my phone company. They said this is a known scam boasting either extending your car warranty or lower your credit card interest rates. They said the FTC has formed a task force to shut this company down. To file a complaint call the FTC at (877) 382-4357. I filed my complaint and they said this particular scam has been getting many many  reports. I will be getting a letter from the FTC to confirm my complaint and I am to keep track of the phone numbers and time of calls each time they harass me. This is the same group that prosecutes telemarketers who ignore the Do Not Call list. He said they are always using fake phone numbers to get through caller id blocking and that they are definitely evading the law by doing so. They do not know anything so far as to who they are or even what country they are calling from, but the more people that file a complaint the better they can investigate! CALL AND FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE FTC NOW!!

The message says 'this is the last time' that they will call me.  I've heard that several times recently.  Being on my State's no-call list, I am reporting this to the Attorney General's office.

I got a call from this number and they said they were helping consumers lower the interest rate on their credit cards.  I don't typically consider doing business with someone that I have not approached first.  I don't know who these people are, or how they got my info but I would recommend anyone getting a call from this number, press 2 and hang up.

Oh, I do pick up the phone - then immediately drop the receiver back down.  I've received these calls - plus ones about my automobile warranty - from several different numbers at both my work and home phone.  So, when I see an unknown number come across, I pick it up and immediately put it back down.  If it's a real call from a viable place of business, they'll call back right away.  These guys never do.

They called me today as well; same recording, apparently. If you're on the do not call lists, absolutely they can be prosecuted.  Just file a complaint online as I did.  The federal site is at donotcall.gov.

received repeated calls from this number over the last few days. Voice spoke insistently regarding 'urgent' need to speak to us regarding our credit card interest rates.Having hung up a number  of times I chose option one to speak to a representative. When i began to ask who they were and why they were calling the female rep hung up.I tried to call the number but to no avail.
I agree with other postings.Don't answer the phone!

Love the whistle blowing idea!  I find it amazing that the offers to lower my interest rate is left by a person that sounds angry that I didn't answer their call.  I find it difficult to believe this could be a legitimate business.  Only frauds and the Obama administration treat people this way.

Received a call from this number on March 9. I pressed one to speak to someone so I could ask to be removed from their call list ( I am on the National DO NOT call list). Her response was "You need to press two to do that. That's NOT my job." and she hung up on me. Believe me, I'd press two to be removed from their list IF that would work. They continue to call no matter what you say or which number you push!

I got a call from this number today.  Uknown Name, 386-736-7962.  I just didn't answer it, and came to PC to google.  Have been getting a lot of these for some time from this number, and some calls that just say Unknown Name, Unknown Number, there was another one that had a Houston Texas area code....We'd answer these and no one would say anything. We have turned off answering machine so we don't have to listen to any of their messages and just return calls to people we know that have caller IDs.
Got one yesterday from an Unknown Name Unknown Number, a woman who said she was calling to make arrangements to receive payment for a very recent and small hospital bill. Asked me if I had credit cards. I told her I mailed in a payment that very morning (true) and the rest would be forth coming (we have several medical bills at this time, unfortunately, and are trying to pay everyone something until they are all paid off. Anyway, then she said that the hospital could offer %15 off of the total balance, but since I had sent in a partial payment already, now they couldn't.  She was very aggressive and kept trying to get me to agree to paying more than I could at this time. We finally came to an agreement and she said I would be receiving mailings to send the payments in with. But now I have become suspicious. My home was broken in to last month, and I am concerned this could be a scam.  Our bills, and other personal information was out for them to see, and how do I know she is really from the hospital. My husband called the hospital and spoke to another person who said they do not operate this way.  Well, have decided to go directly to the hospital to make the payments rather than mail them, just to make sure it gets to them and not some scammer giving me their own address. Because of the break in, we had to change our bank account number, put fraud alerts on all three credit bureaus of our information, get new checks with new bank info which took forever, in attempt to make sure our identities don't get stolen. Now I see a flip side as to how our information could possibly be used.  My husband also tried to call the unknown number ID back, and it did not connect anywhere or to voice mail.

They called me tonight as well. I pressed the number one on the phone and when I said no and to stop calling, he hung up on me. Did some research on the computer tonight. Went to IAF.net and did a reverse look up on the number. It gives you a name, address with this number 1-386-736-7962. When you try to call its disconnected. I don't even own a credit card, I just want them to stop. Plus, my number is unlisted.

These people call left and right!!!!  They have an attitude as well and I asked what it was in regards to and he yelled at me! I said that I wasn't scared of him and didn't like his attitude, so he screamed and the phone again. I told him to go F*** OFF!  Impossible to deal with these calls. AND when you call the number it says it's disconnected!

I see I've got a lot of company. My wife and I have been plagued with calls from these jerks for two weeks. As soon as you ask for their identity, they hang up. I'm starting an investigation through AT&T. I've been advised I must file a police report first. The operator I talked to advised that these scam artists are offshore, probably in the Caribbean or Nigeria, and couldn't care less about the Do Not Call list. Remember, it's a criminal enterprise; they're probably looking for credit card data.TELL THEM NOTHING! Be careful about dialing the number back only to find it's disconnected. It's possible that they're recording your phone number when you do this. Or when you press #1 to talk to someone. Criminals do this and then use your number for their own purpose. I'm calling the AT&T business office tomorrow to see if any suspicious calls have been made using my number. I'll probably also file a report with the FBI.Be careful. From now on, if I receive a call from these clowns, I'll simply hang up on the recorded announcement. I'd advise everyone to do the same.

I got a call from 386-736-7962 about interest rates on credit cards.  They also called from 772-336-8160 with the same recorded message.  I'm on the do not call registry so I'm filing a complaint on these scammers.  According to the national do not call registry they gather those kinds of numbers/complaints and use the information to pursue them for civil and criminal liability.
