caller hangs up when I answer. then i call the number back and there's a disconnected message that seems phony, then an immediately busy tone, which also doesn't seem normal.
just filed a complaint against the DNC registry.

they are calling about an "automotive warranty" -- left message stating that this is my final courtesy call before my vehicle is reclassified, and to press 1 to speak with a warranty specialist. I called back within 10 minutes and got the standard recording that the number had been disconnected or is no longer in service. Apparantly it's not really my "Final" courtesy call because they keep calling me.

A call came from this number with an automated voice. She said to press one if you want to reclassify your car. Out of curiosity I did so. When a man answered the phone and I asked who he was, he immediatly hung up.

Like "Lee in California" I got a recording saying that this is my last chance to update my vehicle warranty and to press one to speak with a representative. I was pretty sure I hadn't heard correctly but was concerned, so I dialed "1" and waited a good long minute before someone picked up and said he wanted the make and model of my automobile. I said I first wanted to understand what it was all about, and he just hung up on me. Somebody stop these guys!

At 5:30 tonight, 10-30-2008 I received an annoying phone call from a woman with a threatening voice like she was admonishing me saying, "We've been trying to contact you about your car warranty expiration.." This is not the first time and I am very upset about this. I do not have a car warranty with them. I told her not to call again and she hung up.
Steve 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
Just received the same. Pressed 1, got a woman who hung up on me. I just reported the # to the national do not call list.
Sharon 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
It was a recording saying that this is my last chance to update my vehicle warranty and to press one to speak with a representative. My car is brand new and the company that I bought it from doesn't have my unlisted number. I think we ought to file a class action suit
Jade 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
Call was an automated message that said that the caller had been trying to reach me multiple times (yet I never had this number appear on my phone before today), and that this is my last chance to update my vehicle warranty. I was instructed to press one to speak with a representative, and two to be removed from the call list. I did neither and the line went busy.
Both of our vehicles were purchased from a private seller, so neither has an actual warranty.
I am on the National Do Not Call Registry, but that doesn't mean anything these days.

Got a call from this number; caller ID showed "unknown caller". After getting the recorded spiel, which I had heard on a previous call, I punched "1" to talk to the telemarketer. I had tried that before but got hung up on. This time, the guy hesitatingly answered my demand to know the name of the company and where located. He answered "Warranty Services" and "Ohio". I didn't figure he was about to give up any more info, so I hung up.
Erica 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
On my caller id it says Deland, FL - I didn't answer it and they didn't leave a message!
Victoria 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
Just got this call and filed a complaint immediately after reading this. They didn't say anyhting this time but now that i've read who they are. I get this call at least twice a week.
Olga 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
These people called me too and when I spoke with the guy he wanted to know the make of my car. I asked him why he was calling my cellphone and which time he hung up on me.

386-736-8732 got a call from with recorded dire sounding message that said this is your last chance before your vehicle is going to be reclassified. I stayed on the line and a woman answered. I politely said I had no vehicle and she hung up with no politeness whatsoever.
I called 386-736-8732 and the message says: "you have reached a number that is disconnected or no longer in service".
The business owner and workers need to do some jail time for conning people.

Got a call from 386-736-8732 this morning. Automated recording telling me that it was my final chance to renew my veichle warranty - press 1 to talk to a rep. When I did, they asked for the make & year of my car. When I told them, I was put on hold while they "accessed my information". That's when I became suspicious (I have an extended warranty). When the guy came back on the line he knew my name and address and kept telling me that my warranty has or was about to expire. When I asked which one - has it expired or not, he did not know. When I asked who he was calling for, he just replied "Chevy". He also said that they have tried to contact me several times via postcards in the mail ... I never got anything in the mail.
He was in a big hurry to set me up with a payment plan to purchase a warranty. I told them that I wanted a chance to look over my veichle purchase paperwork and asked for a number to call them back, that's when he hung up.

These losers are just that. Losers, oh, and con artists, sociopaths, and people whose contribution to this planet is so negative that were they to disappear the condolence cards would all be forwarded to Satan.
vicki 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
Called me to say my car warranty was just about up when I ask which one they said give me your newest car . I said if you don't know what car it is how do you know the warranty is up they hung up.
Katie 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
they call 3 or 4 times a day so i got sick of it and picked up. there is a recoriding talking about your car warriant so then you get to a live person and she says the year of your truck or car. Then i was like which car and the B**** hung up they are rude rude rude. It is some joke or something.

Just like the rest of ya's. Got a call on my caller I.D. with the number 386-736-8732 so I went and google it and this is what I found. What is up with who ever is doing this and what kind of scam is it ? I am on the do not call list so I will report this number. Why aren't the feds going after these people if there are so many complaints ? If you do not know a number then don't answer the phone, or at least wait until they leave a message. This is solid advice.
Bill - San Diego 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
Caller ID can be spoofed and this is definitely a scam. I'm just not sure how to stop it.
My call was also regarding "last chance to update your automobile warranty"
ronzo 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
Do yourself a big favor and use caller ID and an answering machine. If you don't recognize the number, let the machine answer it, the solicitor will hang up once they get the machine. Some will have the nerve to leave a message and try and make you think you'll be in some kind of trouble if you don't return the call which I find amusing. The do not call list isn't going to stop scam artists, and any legitimate company you do business with will leave a courteous message.
I have my caller ID show up on my tv screen and all unknown numbers or out of state, any number I don't recognize gets answered by the machine. Nothing thrills me more than hearing them hang up. The calls are gonna keep coming anyway so I find this method a bit more satisfying and a lot less frustrating. than trying to push back the tide with a spoon.
Thomas H. Edwards 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
I answer, but there is never anyone there.
I just get some weird tones, then an extremely loud busy signal.
Texas 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
They called and I let the machine pick up. No answer left.
Trina 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
I filed several complaints about them on donotcall.gov and every forum such as this one, but they just keep calling. Same pre-recorded message regarding auto warranty renewal. If you press 1 to speak to someone they just hang up on you when you ask them to remove phone number from their solicitor list. I just wish somebody could make them stop.
Vancouver Washington 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
Called and hung up when they heard that we were a Non-Profit when we answered.
David 2011-06-06 20:46:55 Unknown
This is another in a long list of false numbers being pushed through by this group. They are actually not calling from this number, but are pushing that number through to your caller id. That is a violation of FCC rules, but good luck trying to track them down.
I've gotten the same calls from 321-729-9349, 386-447-4875, 877-642-7156. Don't press any buttons, just hang up. Unfortunately, they never stop calling, once they have your number.
