Some kind of telemarketer asking if I am looking for a job or to further my education saying I may qualify for an educational loan...

I was just having fun with this guy... he followed me through the steps of fix'n my virus affected computer... I've only been using a computer for 20+ years, but I had so much fun acting like I didn't know what to click on when he instructed me to... You know how annoying it is when you're trying to help someone with an issue on the computer, but they are totally clueless on what's- what of a computer?? yeh, me too... awwwwwwwwwwww I'm sure I gave him a HUGE headache! *pats self on the back*

Just get a smartphone. They have blocking mode built in. No need to buy special programs or apps. Either block them as you get them or set it to where only calls from people on your contacts get through. Simple as that! One more tip...Change your outgoing voicemail to your system standard greeting. Have the recording say your phone number & nothing else. Never leave your name on your outgoing voicemail greeting & never use your own voice. By doing so you give information like your name, sex & possibly your age.

I told the dot.head that I was aware of the malware on my computer because i was usinig it intentionally so he would have a job.  Silence, then hangup

It would be great if law enforcement could provide a special credit card number to give to the thieves so cops can steal/trace their info and bust them! Idea for NSA?

Big Fraud Scam/ID Theft ?Do not fall for this?
My BoS degree is in Cybersecurity, so I know from experience that this number 397-317-7591 is a phone scam (Social engineering) where the caller is trying to trick you into letting them get access to your Windows computer OS.  They can then get (hack) either  Sensitive Personal Information like (Passwords, Bank account info, ID theft, etc) to steal from you or place a Malicious computer code like (viruses, worms, spyware, rootkit, or Trojan horse) on to your computer to do very bad MALICIOUS Cybercrime now or in the future.  Best thing you can do to safeguard yourself is to not give them any Info about  yourself over the phone and most of all do not let them have access to your computer.  Always check before allowing anyone access to your computer with a trusted computer experts  

I got a call just now from them saying my computer is reporting to them about errors and that they wanted remote assess to show me the errors. When I told him that i have a computer repairmen that works on my computer he said they dont fix these kinds of errors it takes a specialist. So i just hung up on them

Yup...same deal. My number must have gotten put on something because yesterday I got a call from someone saying they were with the US GOVERNMENT and I was randomly selected for a $8700 grant. I told them just send me the check and they hung up. Today, my windows has a virus!  Funny...I didn't realize Apple products used Microsoft software.

I had a man on the line saying he wanted to check  on Windows computer. Im sure it's a scam.

Just received a call from this number. Mythe guy said he was from Microsoft calling about my computer, I told him to stop calling me and was told to just listen to him. I said no I'm on the do not all list and now I want to talk to his supervisor. He said I don't have you on any list and it's my computer making him call. I said get your supervisor on the phone now and then was told his supervisor does not speak to "Ill-a-trait" people. Lol... I said what does that mean and he says he doesn't know. I said I was going to report him and he repied... " go ahead you black American a***ole, I will kill you". Who can we call about this?

I just got off the phone with these morons..They told me my Windows PC has been infected with all types of Warnings and Errors that could possibly lock my system up indefinitely(Keep In mind I knew this was some sorta scam!!..I just went along with the phone call to have some fun with the moron)..His name was "Kevin" with an Indian accent....He told me to go to www.advancepcprotect.net and I did...he wanted me to download some sorta Remote Connect software so then he can connect to my PC to fix it..which I didn't..I told him the link wasn't working..He then told me to go to www.ammyy.com and the same thing..He then told me that my PC was far too gone,that he'd need to connect me to the Advanced Tech...and that it's gonna cost me $79.99..I told the man that I was 15(which I'm not) and that I'm going to have to steal my parents credit card...He said he'd call me back at 5pm EST....5PM came and my phone rang,it was the same number as above,but this time his Jon with an Indian accent(He was the Advanced Tech)..He asked me to go the ammyy site again and I told him nothing is working..He then told me to restart my system and started asking me questions about my computer like..What do I on my computer...I told him I shop online,watch porn and all types of stuff..I also told him that I took my computer apart and had sex with it..And I asked if that could be the reason why I have some many errors and he said "Possibly"...He then began asking me my address and my full name..So I gave him a fake name and address..He then wanted the Credit card number so that he can bill me for his upcoming repair service($79.99) So I said "Sure,I just got done stealing my dads credit card"..He asked me the numbers and I gave him it's a Visa - 4427 7224 0423 7789 Exp 11/17 and ESC Code on back 836... He hung up and never called back.....

Got the call, from Jack that is from India. Don't matter if you have an American name. Told me I have an issue with my pc. No I don't. And your not getting into my pc. So F off.

these people to called me,the guy sounded indian but he gave me a name jack travis.i asked him how he get my number and how do he know if my computer have viruses and warning.Stay away from these ppl .I believe the are trying to hack computers

You're scam artists. I own the number you are giving crap about. I never called anyone. I own 397-317-7591. You have fake comments on here. You will be contacted by the federal government trash.

The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities and companies with preexisting business relationships, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list  is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.

I have received multiple calls from this number in just a 48 hour period.  Since I did not know the number I would not answer and then they don't leave a message.  This is especially annoying considering I have my number on the do not call registry and have had for months.  They are supposed to KEEP SCAMMERS AWAY!!

Some guy with heavy accent called me.  He told me I had a viruses on my computer and he wanted to walk me through how to get rid of them. I hung up on him.

Received a call from this guy telling me I had a problem with my computer.  I just bought the computer and have never given my number to anything on it. I asked him how he got my number and he refused to tell me. However I asked him if he knew my name and he did ,first and last. Really creeper me out. I don't even have windows either. I persisted he tell me how he got my information.  He then started to make far sounds with his mouth and laughing. I hung up and will be calling to report this guy today . So creepy.

Getting calls constantly.

Hung up when I said "hello". From reading this info, just added the number to call-blocking.

Guy with super broken English called stating that there had been some viruses downloaded to my Microsoft pc. I kept telling him I couldn't understand him, and finally HE hung up! Haha

Call came in just before 10 PM. Left no voice message. Area Code 397 doesn't exist! It's a "future" if needed area code for California but isn't functioning now.  Beware - don't give them any personal information, and most certainly not access to your computers or bank accounts.  Stay aware.

This guy keeps calling me also, I reported this number to the homeland security office.
