Have been receiving calls from this number almost every day.  When I pick up, no one is ever there... I just get hung up on.  When trying to call back, a creepy sounding recording says "Call Back Later".

This is NOT a "legit fund raiser" - It's a scam! Ignore and report it.

Got a call tonight from this number they said they were calling for Warwick FOP looking for a donation wanted to give me tickets to a comedy show at Roads on the Pawtucket (I have never heard of a comedy show there and my parents live right there on Roads on the Pawtucket) when I told them sorry but no they asked again for $15 telling me the tickets were worth $30 I said sorry no we can not , not right now the guy on the other end was extremely rude and said "Ya ok whatever" as he was moving the phone from his face.  SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM I am so sick of this crap and these calls

Call came in 5:33PM, ID showed RI as caller.  To voice mail, no msg.  Thanks to previous poster DaB, will not answer if they call again.

Calls several times a week...I finally answered , and  they hung up...when I called the number back a male voice recording said "call back latet"   I am on a do not call list  .the number was -401-209-6731   (Scammers)!   So tired of all these calls

Annoying calls same as others of you complaining.  Will seek to "block" incoming calls from this number with our phone service provider.  Good to be able to access info re what others are also experiencing.

I have also received 2-3 calls daily from this number, no one answers when I pickup.  When I call back I get the same message 'call back later'.  We stopped answering any calls from this number.  If anyone has been able to identify this caller I sure would like to know who it is so I can place a formal harresment charge against them.

called last night asking for a donation to North Smithfield Police department,  I called the Police Department to verify the information, No such fund raiser !   The man said he was Mr. Murphy.  He asked for a $35.00 donation in return for tickets for the Bruins game in Oct.  Be careful,  it is a good idea to screen your calls before answering.

Called five times in one day!  Beyond annoying!!!!!!!  Call number back and it says "call back later" in a fake voice. I am on the Do Not Call List!!!  When you answer, no one is there!

I am getting calls from 401-209-6731 several times a day.  When I answer, no one is there.  I am on a no call list.

Do not answer the phone. They say they are calling from a particular local police department - often the town where you live. If you agree to give them money - they tell you to leave the check in the mailbox. The other caller said it was a legit call from the Smithfield Police. Totally doubt it. The newspapers in Rhode Island have written about this scam. It think the Smithfield RI poster is on the scam.

Total scam. Say they're from the RI Fraternal Order of Police. They often even say the name of the town like "I'm calling for the Cumberland (or whatever) Police Department."

Just don't answer the phone.

I have had repeated calls from this number.  They never leave a message.  I didn't recognize the number, so I never picked up.  This is annoying!  Now that I know it is a scam, I will pick up just to take up their time!!!

I answered this call after ignoring several the last few Sundays.  I verified with the Smithfield, RI police dept and it is a legit fundraiser they are doing for the town FOP.  I would double check with your local police before  contributing though... seems like a generic number ....comes up as FOP not specific to local police dept.

Was not available when they called. Left message which consisted of a dial tone, then operator stating "if you want to make a call" then the beep-beep-beep that you get when the phone is off the hook. This went on forever until I picked up phone and then hung it up again. Never seen/heard anything like it. We are on the "do not call" registry.

Got a phone call from this phone # today...they have been calling for weeks and leaving no message...this time I picked up and the woman said my name and I said yes...they said it's the Cumberland RI Police Department and I said what do you want? They then hung up. I called the police department and they said it is not them. What was that about? When I call back the message says Call back Later....
