Actually, I think this is a general number for Citizens and could be anything,
For me it was them calling in response to an online application I filled out.

This could be NCB(debt collector) related because Citizens Bank have different number now(800-92*-***) which IS listed on Citizens bank website.

Keeps calling at least monthly - never a message.  When i called it back it says its a Citizens Bank Number no longer in service (6/4/2009) and to call their 1800 number

Call from Citizen's Bank to see how satisfied you are with them.  I was satisfied, so that was the only question he had for me.

They called three times in a matter of a few minutes...we didn't answer but they never left a message...I called the number back and it said it was for Citizens Bank but the line was no longer in use..then it said to call their 800#.

They called me again today and I picked up. They said they're doing a survey to see how satisfied I am with Citizens, from Extremely satisfied, very satisfied, satisfied, not satisfied...  It was the the only one question asked and then told me to have a good day. It was an older lady calling and it did seem a bit shady.

Have gotten lots of calls from this number -- early in the morning and in the evening. Today received a call at 11:20pm from this number. When I answered, there was nobody there. I don't know how to stop the calls. I'm on the Do Not Call list.

There was a call made to my cell number today at 4:21 p.m., and when I anwered, no one responded.

Citizens Bank uses this number for a lot of reasons.  I've heard of calls from the same number for surveys, collections, bank errors, and a lot of other things.  If you have an account with them then you might want to answer when they call - if not then don't answer.

I got a call from this number this afternoon on my cell phone claiming "It's Joanna from Citizens Bank - it's very important that you return my call as soon as possible."  When I called, it was supposedly after hours, but I'm concerned this may be a scam.  I have no Citizens Bank accounts.

Received a call April 14 at 7:30PM no message was left.

This number has called me several times in the last week or two. I have not responded, nor do they even leave a message. I will probably respond next time jsut to see who it really is and what they really want. I have a business account with Citizens if it is them, but its not much.

they called me at 3pm on april 10th. no message was left- so I called back and it was a recording saying the number is citizens bank but the number is out of service.

I just got a call at 3:35 pm it's from Rhode Island. I'm in RI.

I got a call today 5/4/10 from Citizens Bank and it told me to call 800-720-2443.  We have multiple accounts with them and husband works for them.  When I called it was identified as the asset recovery department. I spoke to someone and they said that there was not a problem.  It sounded so unusual.  Has anyone got a call to contact this number?

they keep calling me too! i did a reverse lookup and it said it was unlisted. then i did a google search and found this. very frustrating and scary! i have nothing to do with this bank.

we get the same  darn thimg wish they would get real jobs..

I got the same exact call on 6/4/09 @ 2pm.  I never answer unknown numbers but they keep calling over and over!

called and didn't identify self or company, just hung up.401-282-2000 cid said rhode island. put them in donotcall.gov for a starter....

got call from 401-282-2000 at 8:10 pm.  When I answered I got no response
from other end.  When I called the number I got a message saying it was no
longer in service.

401-282-2000. I called back this number from my caller ID. A Citizen Bank recording said the number was disconnected and to call 800-922-9999 which is the same number on my bank statement.  Customer Service said the 282-2000 is a scam.  Beware.

smartass is 100% correct. you can change the number that shows up on caller ID to anything you want with the right technology. get a clue the rest of you. just don't pick up the phone. like Citizens Bank is gonna prank call you? morons.

Got a phone call from this number again this morning. I called citizen's bank customer service They said they would remove my number from their list

Hi--I got a call from this number at 621AM (I am on the west coast) and I missed it---I listened to the message and the woman called my husband and I by name and asked us to tell a Todd Overbeck (neither of us know anyone by that name) to call them at their 1-800 #---which she did not give.  I called the number (401-282-2000) and it said it was a disconnected # of Citizens Bank--I called the 800 # supplied and talked with a rep there---she and her supervisor think it is a scam of some sort, as they do not leave msgs like that one.  Neither my husband nor I have ever had an account with Citizens.

This number keeps calling my cell and leaves a long message of weird music. When I called the number back it said it was a non-working number previously from Citizens Bank.  I am blocking that number.

I should say, too, that I tried to call back and received the same "non-working number at Citizen's Bank and to call Customer Service at (800)229-9999"
