Answered my craigslist ad with a text saying that payment would be made in a certified bank check, and arrangement for pickup made once check clears. I answered with the name of Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, and the address of the sheriff's office. They wrote back saying that the check has been made out for $1200. over my asking price. I'm to pay the agent they send to pick up my car. They have instructed my to remove my ad also.

I posted my truck on Craigslist also in South Phoenix for $3000. Received text from this numer asking if it was still for sale and condition, person gave name of Richard Collins. After texting back yes, it was still for sale and its condition, I quickly received another text saying " I'm ok with price and condition, I plan to make your payment in a Certified Bank Check and arrange for truck to be picked up after check clears your bank " ...     then asked for me to give my full name and address to mail check to.....
Something didn't seem right to me since I posted truck as "CASH ONLY" and buyer asked me to give personal info ASAP without asking any detailed questions or ever speaking in person. I checked out this (401) number and you can see the rest...don't fall for it SCAM SCAM SCAM!!..someone needs to stop to this person!!

I listed my car for 2500 on Craigslist in South Phoenix. This number was the first person that texted me. After a few texts, I asked buyer to call me ASAP, and he gave me a story about being hard of hearing due to a bomb exploding in his ear during Military Career, and that was why he was retired (???) so he couldn't call me. He kept texting me something about an agent picking up the car, and a cashier check. The first text told me his name was Brandon Colins, and a day or so later when I asked his name again, he said it was Williams Benedict?????? After googling the 401 area code I stumbled upon this site. Same M.O. Same story...glad I checked it out! SCAM SCAM SCAM!

Donetta" wants to send a certified bank check UPS overnite for truck i placed for sale on craig's list then pick up truck...wants my name &address i have told them nothing really about the truck asked where they are from...they said new mexico...the ad says clearly that this is a1995 old work truck located in KY for $2000...I keep reading scam reports associated with this number sending bad checks for autos, purses, and other items listed on craig's list...SELLERS BEWARE!!!!!  Out of curiosity I asked if they wanted my bank routing number, of course they said OK...need I say more?????

Tried to buy an item i have listed on craigslist, was going to send me a $3500 refund check and i was to deduct my amount and wire some one the balance. SAY WHAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!!

Received $3500 certified check that was bad for my truck I was selling on craigslist.  Total scam and I was not fooled.

Trying to send me a check for my car to New mexico threw a craigslist ad. SCAMMER!
