Well....they are at it again.  Just got a call on my cell phone from this number.  Just deleted voice mail without reading it.  Thanks guys and gals for all of the information on these scammers.

I also got a call. Tried to unsubscribe, but was just aked to enter information about my vehicle. I work in AP at my company, where this call was received. Figure it is bogus, as we are not located anywhere near RI

also incredible rich.  Macs are very expensive.  Don't destroy it next time - give it to me.  I'll have my son redo everything.  BTW - it is extremely rare (in fact, I've never known any Mac owner to have it happen) for a Mac to get a virus.  I know just about as many pc users as mac users and most of the pc users have had a virus.

If you have a gmail account (if not, you'll need to create one) you can get a phone number through them & use that in place of your real number. You can also make calls from the Google number & it'll show up on the other side's caller ID. Also, you can go online to look at incoming calls, make outgoing calls & block any incoming number you choose -indefinitely. The service is totally free & to set it up you sync your real home, cell or work numbers (or all numbers) to the google voice number. Then, you can choose which number (or all) rings for incoming calls. If you don't have a gmail email, set one up then dig into the google voice feature. Google voice also allows texting thru their service.
Using google voice as my real number has relieved a lot of stress in my life because I can easily go online & block all unwanted calls forever. :) The reason I researched getting a 'fake' number is because of what another post mentioned; if the companies say they don't share information, then why the heck am I getting soliciting calls?!?

got a call from this number on my brand-new iphone -- have only given my # out to 3 ppl so far and none are from providence, lol. so, it has to be a telemarketer or spammer.

Just got it too. To my Google Voice number... I dont live in the USA and I do not have a car in the USA.

Received call, short voicemail (4 sec) of nothing but air noise was left.

Dude it is you that apparently does not understand how computers work. You can erase , format and restore your hard drive until the moon turns blue  but viruses do make their way to the BIOS of pc and smartphones.

I got a call from the same #. I didn't answer it since it appeared on the screen as Providence, RI. I have no one who would call me from RI. And then a voice mail, but it's filled with air. No voice. Nothing. Must be a scam.

Received call from this number in the middle of a university class. In Michigan. Says the number is from Rhode Island. I see no connections here. Sounds like, after reading comments, that it's a call about auto insurance... to make it even weirder, I don't currently own a car.

Just missed a call from this number. No message left but the caller didn't hang up before voicemail picked it up. I could hear that the caller was in their car from the background noise. Oh, I'm in AZ!
