There is NO need to call anyone...especially someone that doesn't belong calling you to begin with. Don't let the scasmmers like the one that posted just above (Alice) this one fool you. He's trying to harvest numbers and then will try to say that you called them first.

Dead aor when I answer the phone started today with 2 calls.

called no message left  Says  "Protect U  CO"

99.9% of the time an unknown number to me with no CNAM is a telespammer.  So just hung up on it (hook flash).  Then I look it up online later to see that it is indeed spam, so I blocked the number.

I've received multiple calls from this number without a message or identifiable caller ID reference.

Got a call from this number and they started asking information about my neighbor across the street.  I told them I only know he lives there and I don;t know him well then hung up.  Sounds like some kind of phishing group to me.

When you callback, you get a chance to select '1' to be removed from calling list....but they keep calling.

Caller I.D. says this is Protect U Co. I've copied and pasted what someone on this blog said a year ago:  Did not leave a message.  I do not answer calls I do not recognize; just let them go to my answering system.  If it is important and legitimate they will leave a message.  I have started keeping a record of these kind of calls and if they call repeatedly without leaving a message, I will report them to the Attorney General.

Guess he's either too cheap to get his own local phone number to make the calls.....or very thrifty....which isn't a bad thing as treasurer!

Just got the call and let it go, left no v/m. Found this website and thread, called back and hit 1 to be put on the Do Not Call list.

it was a call from the Democrats to vote for their candidate for State Senator.

Strange number of 401-515-0261 with  "Portect U Co" on the caller ID- I don't answer calls I don't recognize-

I got another call from this # today  8/24..  I posted on 8/10/10 that I called the # back and pressed #1 to be put on the Do Not Call List.  Apparently, that did not work the first time.  Tried it again today.

8-10-10  Got 2 calls from this # thi afternoon.  I sent it to V/M and no message was left.  I called the # back.  The first option you get is to press 1 to be placed on their Do Not Call List.   I pressed 1.  Hope this works.

JUST CALL THE NUMBER BACK AND PRESS 1 TO BE PLACED ON THEIR DO NOT CALL LIST.

It's some scam for a stimulus package.... Sounds way to commercial and VERY VERY bogus!! If you answer you'll notice that its an automated recording!!! Waste of time.
