Got a call just a few minutes ago on my cell.  Didn't answer.  Googled the number and came to this website.  Good thing I looked it up before calling back.

got my call 5 minutes ago and i didnt answer cos area code looks new to me. anyway the 401 area code is from rhode island

I dont believe that they get your number through these services. They go about it a different way. I have a brand new cell phone with number. I have never used this phone for anything other than calling friends. Somehow I am in thier data base with this number? It wouldnt surprise me if the phone companies sell your info out.

I just got a call from this number on my mobile. I hit the 'ignore' button and googled the number out of curiosity.

I don't care if it is their job, I hope these people get rabies.

I got my call at 9:38am PDT and it's worrisome because my landline gets these blind calls all the time, but until now, my cellphone has been free of them.

just receieved a call...didn't answer. I guess we now have to deal with cell phone SPAM. "Do not call" lists do not work. They scramble the numbers digitally.

they buy the numbers from car dealers, then try to sell you additional warranty coverage after your normal warranty expires. they just called me, i never answer. they usually call about once a week....and i'm already on the do not call list.

My phone rang.  I didn't answer, but I did eat some brownies.

Received call at 3:43 PM CDT, didn't answer, called back and it said "We apologize for the inconvenience, but you've just been added to the..." I didn't let it finish.

I got the call at 11:27 am on August 18. Didn't pick it up.

Missed call at 11:17 PST.  Didn't pick up because I don't know anyone in that area.  Had no desire to call back.

401 is a Rhode Island prefix. Do not know who this call is from.

I tried to call back but the line was busy.

These guys are random calling.  I got phone calls from them before I owned a car, and now I'm getting them after having bought a car.  They don't know anything about the people they're calling.  The fact that they have to ask for your vehicle information should be a clue..

Just got a call from them and they call me every couple of days. It's totally bogus because I don't own a car!

I received a telephone Monday @ 12:35 pm on my cell phone.  Recorded message saying, "You're warrenty on your vehicle is about to expire..."

I clicked 1 to 'extend my warrenty' to which I was placed with a male telephone operator--english speaking (no accent).  He said, may I have the year/make/model of your vehicle.  I asked, what company is this?  "This is Warrenty Services" I asked, "how did you obtain my telephone number?"  He replied, "we populate our telephone numbers from a wide range of databases with people who purchased cars between 1998 and 2008"  

I did purchase my vehicle in 2006.  The '3 year' anniversary date is approaching this december.  Acura (Honda Financial Services) must have forwarded my telephone number to them.

I asked to be placed on the do not call list, to which he said "done" and promptly hung up.

Just got a call from this number, no message left. weirdos!

p.s.  I will file a complaint and will include all the unknown numbers i've been getting !

I have been receiving calls from different unknown numbers, but I just ignore.  Today I changed my cell # greeting to just say my 10 digit tel # instead of saying my first name.  Reading all these comments reminded me of a similar call that I got last year, I picked up then and answered all their questions.  I never gave any credit card info though and the caller stated I would get something in the mail (never did).  That same year my debit card had fraud activities about $1000 plus (4 different transactions under $300) on New Years Eve located in Las Vegas NV (when I was no where near NV).  I have no idea how they got my pin #.  Luckily my bank reimbursed me and changed all my info.  NEVER AGAIN WILL I ANSWER UNKNOWN NUMBERS !!!

This number called me then i answered it and said hi but no one answered back it was weird. so then called it and was put on the Do not call list.
