I received a call from 216-212-1703, the man I spoke with identified himself as John Osley, #1004, he even spelled his name for me, and identified the name of his company as Elite Planning. I have had calls from this company in the past, and they usually just hang up on me so I was playing along, telling him I had credit card debt and trying to get a phone number for this company. As I tried to get more information he grew more and more angry. He screamed he was too important to be dealing with me and he was going to come up off the couch he was sittin on, come through the phone and hit me upside my head. He was so enraged he could hardly speak. Not only is this a scam, but the people working there have some serious issues!
This was a call from Elite planning group at 1-888-355-2702, and I talked to a polite Christopher White ext. 1020 who said they make their money off the interest they save me from the $598.00 they planned to charge me for soliciting my credit card companies for a lower interest rate, saving me between $2500-5000 in interest charges, if not then my money back.... this sounded crazy, called up two of my credit card banks and they both said they would only negotiate with me about card interest rates and not with another company... this is not entirely TRUE either... banks and credit cards do negotiate when you debt consolidate or do the better alternative-- debt settlement on high interest Credit cards! They (Elite planning Group) called back on a 480-555-0123 number to verify or cancel my order! I admit to being a sucker at times but I said this transaction is CANCELLED! They still demand they are legit and have a website... sorry I didn't care to hear more.
Hi Wendy. It was comforting to me to read your message- I have reported these people, but I too spent around 30 minutes, which I was naiive to do. I did give a lot of my personal information, and ended up with a rude man who sounds like yours and got stuck on the part of not wanting to pay without written materials from them. Have you had more fall- out since? Did they charge anything on your card? I have reported them to my credit card company. I felt like they were credible until they refused to send me written materials before I would agree to pay. They also told me it was recorded for my protection, however they would have that recording, not me.
Yes, Elite Planning Group called me today- I have to say I never received a call before from a soliciting company so wasn't "with it". First they tell you they can lower your interest rates on your cards. They get information to check to see if you are qualified- they then turned me over to an extremely nice, professional person who both answered all my questions, had a script, and then told me I'd be needing to pay to get this service. That's when I was highly suspicious, and told "Michelle" who had an 888 3552702 number, which is also featured on their website (a vague site about lowering debt- ) that I would NOT pay, I would need papers- then I was transferred to a 3rd person who basically told me I was stupid not to do this. That was when it got gross. Don't talk to them as long as I did- like 20 minutes- the one woman, Michelle Brantley is very sweet and convincing. I called my credit card company, who immediately told me that they are fraudulent.
I got the same call too.
These people are keep change their number.
They also use international # call my house. The number begin 8620334695 and 7502840039.
What is wrong these people? They must nothing to do in their life.
I cannot believe there is no software or anything to stop these kind of stupid call.
I am so tried to get these kind of the phone call everyday.
I've been getting calls from them, but different numbers, same message. I'm on the Do Not Call and tried to report it, but my complaint can't be accepted because I don't know the Company's name or number, so the number I'm complaining about is the same as the Company's number. Not sure if I should just use one of the other numbers... has anyone been able to file a complaint that worked?? Seems pointless if that's a loophole for annoying scammers to get away with this stuff...
Taped message from credit services about lowering your credit card interest rates. Press 1 to speak to a rep. This is the fourth time I have received my final notice and am now trying to connect with a rep to tell them to quit calling. Press 1 nobody answers then it auto hangs up.
They tryed to say i had a bill. All they needed was my SS# to make sure they were talking to the rt person i simply told them if i had a bill they had my SS# already and i was going to report this call. They hung up the PH asap.
Thanks George for that information. I will try it.
It is illegal to call using an automated voice message. It is also illegal for a company to "cold call" you unless they are a non-profit or political group, or have an ongoing business relationship with you.
Please, everyone, put in a complaint with the "National Do NOT Call" list. It only takes a few minutes, and the more complaints they get the more likely they are to do something about it.
The number came up saying Rhode Island with a recording saying it was credit card services and to hold to consolidated my credit cards. They have been calling very often with a 'final notice.' I held for a representative and asked to be taken off the list, the man hung up on me.
Just got the call from Provident Rhode Island, said they wanted my S.S. number so they could help me get my Credit Card payments lowered. I don't have any Credit Cards. This is a total SCAM. I asked for the name of the person and company and they hung up on me. UMMMMM.
These guys call with an incredibly threatening message that makes you think your credit card is being cancelled. When you stay on and try to speak to a representative, they hang up when they see that you don't want to get screwed by them! And when you call back, you are "not in their database" and they won't pick up.
getting calls from them every other day, always saying this is the last time they will call...blah blah blah....always hang up, and i agree the do not call registry isn't working!
asking for credit card info
They never stop, they call all weekend. I block as many as I can and use a special ringtone for callers I know. You can always get rid of the answering machine/voice mail and just use the call id to see who called. someone said they forword the calls back? make sure you have your number permanetly blocked or they see it. use your computer to tell you.
Not entirely true. If you get a call from an automated voice (which is illegal BTW) many times you can wait out the entire message and at the end they give you an option of pressing a number that opts you off their list. Not all the time, but I have used that many times in the past 2 years.
You're not alone Wendy. They just called me (again) this evening and I pressed '1' hoping to opt off their list and was rudely hung up on by a loud woman who asked if I pressed 1 to lower my rates. I said no and there was a "click". I have reported these people before to the do not call registry (Like I have many others) and unfortunately the do not call folks have done nothing. We put our phone numbers on the list as soon as it was possible. But..over the years we are getting more and more annoying calls again. I think the list and the people who maintain it are falling by the wayside.
BEWARE!!! This is probably a spoofed number and if you press 1 and then provide them personal detail - you will be giving them exploitable information.
Same thing just happened to me. A man picked up the phone, I asked to be taken off the list and he hung up! JERKS!
My wife got a call about our credit card status. We were told several calls were made to us telling us our credit card standing is in jeopardy and if we don't respond now, all our credit cards will be cancelled.
When I got on the line and demanded to know who was calling, they hung up.
can someone please tell me what elite planning group sends you after a aprox $1000. bill to lower your your credit interest? replay ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) thanks
They called my mom last night at :8:59 telling her that one of her bank accounts was overdraft by $3000 dollars, she hung up on them. This has to be a scam! She's on the do not call list too, but that hasn't stopped them from calling
We are getting many unwanted calls from this number.
We are supposedly on the national Do Not Call list
These people called me. Wanting to know my credit card total debt. Then they wanted to know an account number and bank name and how much I owed. That is when I ended the call. They told me you are the one that needs help not me, and hung up on me. The reps. name was Marzel. What a scam.
I too am glad that with my voip phone I can forward select numbers, hence blocking them. I chose one of the many phone numbers that have called me and forward calls to them. I am just frustrated that I get these robo calls in the first place since I have always been told that they are illegal. This automated message acted as if they were a collection agency and then turned into a call about lowering my interest rate.
I just got a call from this number (401-757-3220 Rhode Island). I did not pick up. After reading many of the comments above, it seems to me that picking up the call is the real problem. Those who do are subject to a stream of further calls. The scammers know they've found a live sucker. The fact that the caller id name is a state or a city should be an immediate clue that this is a scammer. A legitimate business or friend would use their name and that would allow a certain amount of authentication to be done. The DO NOT CALL list is useless, so the only recourse is to simply ignore the call (or, if you just have to pick up, use a device such as a DIGITONE Call Blocker or similar to block further calls).
This company has called my cell and home number. Both times I pressed one to ask if I could kindly be taken off their call list. Both times (a male & female) instantly hung up on me. IT IS A SCAM!
They have called me everyday with a message about debt management and then tell me I have to have $3000 worth or more debt. We are debt free and even if we would use debt service I wouldn't from someone calling me on the phone. They are harrassing us and I am trying to find a way to stop this activity. They leave messages and when I called pressed 1 to talk to a person they hung up on me when I asked who they were. It was rude and especially since they are disrespecting people by calling in the afternoon when people are home spending the evening with the family. We are on the do not call list and I would like to know why this is allowed.
I have received many time a call from this number, but today I pick up the phone and answered. When I asked what they were calling me, he say that they will lower the rate to 6.5% in all my cards. I sense that it was a fraudulent call I just continue talking to see how far they would go. He asked me how many cards do I had and in which one I had the highest balance. I just name one randomly. This is the "interesting part" he asked me to say the account number, then I told him: I don't think that I have to give you that info," He insisted and I replied that I don't have to do that, then He yell :"you have to give me those numbers before immigration come for you." I laugh on his face and hanged up; I'm a citizen. I think he picked up my accent and assumed I was an undocumented immigrant and try to scared by saying that immigration will come to pick me up.
I laughed, but if the person responding to these delinquents happen to ignore his rights, he could be forced to give up his credit card number. Does any one knows where to report these delinquents, because that is a crime; stilling your information.
