This is a legitimate tech support number for APC / Schnieder Elec / Eaton.  They called a few times but did not leave a message.  Today I caught the call and talked to the guy asking me if everything was OK.
I forgot to ask him why he did not leave a voicemail.

I called "Schneider Electric" number after hours and a woman with an accent answered. I think they are spoofing the number and it is a scam.

Usually when APC calls, they leave a VM if they can't reach me. When these calls came in without a VM, I started questioning why...

This is American Power Conversion's (owned by Schneider Electric) main support callback number and they are a ligitimate supplier of computer power solutions with whom I have worked for a couple of years when dealing with troubleshooting uninteruptable power supplies, however they generally leave VMs when calling back. I contacted their main switchboard and they couldn't tell me why I have been receiving calls without VMs, but they removed me from their contact list from the white page downloads page. They (and I) suspect someone may be "ghosting" their caller ID and APC is investigating. I'll find out if this stops the calls and recommend everyone do the same.

I'm not sure what is going on with everyone.  This is a legitimate company that I deal with.  They provide the hardware and software maintenance on APC battery backup systems.  They schedule the quarterly maintenance through this number.  I don't know why everyone is thinking these are prank phone calls, etc.  They must have your telephone number mistakenly entered instead of the correct number they are supposed to be contacting.  Very strange stories here though.....

Got a call from them at work. I let it go to voice mail and they never leave a message. Annoying.

I called the number back, got connected to their custy support and got my number removed from their list. They don't know either as to why we are getting such calls!

I got a call from this number. It was and is unfamiliar, I didn't pick up, noone left a message. I have gotten calls from APC at 8:30a like this one today but I can't confirm or deny that this was or is APC. ? I was in the middle of this riddle of a dream that was so familiar and just kept going to the limits of somewhat familiar and unfamiliar at the same time though. Phone interruption ended this strange and frustrating dream. :-)  hehee!

this number calls every day. No caller ID.  What area code is 401

If you cannot identify your company on caller ID. Then dont call!

Area code 401 is supposed to be Rhode Island.

I received call but impossible to take. Impossible to know from.

This is a call from Schneider Electric.  I received one from them after I downloaded a white paper of theirs, to see if I had any questions.  Promptly, I might add.

Called my job... this a place of business with busy people here.. no one wants to talk to you!

Jeeez! Download one APC white paper off of ZDNet and now you get long distance calls constantly from APC confirming your download and wondering if they can help answer any questions. Far too aggressive and annoying marketing approach. If I need their help I will call them.

Tired of companies w***ing themselves out to shameless marketing tactics. APC should know better, it makes what I thought was a reputable company look so very very cheap and desperate.

They called at 6:52 AM!!!!!!!  Apparently their call center doesn't know that people live in different time zones.

I received a call at 10:11am. I did not answer, no message.

I received a call from this # a while ago, but it was legit. the call was from APC. i entered some promotions on their website and ended up winning 1 of them, they needed to talk to me about it.  initial contact was by email, i gave them my phone # and the call came in from this #.

and yes, i did get my prize, so the whole thing was legit. they didn't ask for anything other than my mailing address so they could send the prize to me and they haven't called me again since.

They call me several times a week.  Today, I got a message from them which was about five minutes of easy listening music...  {:{P}

Whoever these horrible people are, they've called me once/twice a day for at least 3 months.  Calling the number back gets absolutely nothing

I suspect it is as gajaybird said. I also had downloaded a white paper from APC while trying to enter a sweepstakes form their magazine.  I did not answer it. It was filtered by my Google Voice account.

Got a call just now from this number. Answered and spoke with a nice guy with APC who was following up since I had downloaded a white paper, to see if I had any questions. That was it. I neglected to ask him how they got my cell phone number, although I suppose I may have given it to them. No sales pitch, that was it.

Hey if you recive the APC Magazine and you do the Giveaways they have in there maybe you won something from them.Its not a legit thing.I dont answer the calls of numbers i dont know so yes 1-401-789-5735 is from APC.Cant they even leave a voice message I have alot of missed calles and none of them leave me any vocie messages thats so annoying.

i got phone calls from this number ,3x in a 2 days ...my caller id shows[ amer ,pow ] figure they want a donation or something ...then saw the comments above, i dont have their power service...need to stop calling

Called again 7:29 PM June 30.

Left no voice mail.

i keep getting calls from this number, and when i answer they hang up, when i try to call back i get a message saying "this number is unallocated" is it actually APC? or someone posing as APC?
