It is, in fact, a legitimate call, from students at PC, asking for an annual donation. They typically call alumni and parents of current students looking for a donation. Most PC alumni are more than happy to make a donation, since their love for the school is a lifelong commitment. If you choose not to give, simply say no.

This is legit from PC as when i was a student there not too long ago i used to make these calls as my "on campus" job...its just students that are looking for a small donation.

It is definitely not a prank call. It's Providence College looking for donations from alumni.

It is Providence College looking for donations.

They are barking up the wrong tree if they are looking to me as a wealthy alum!

I keep getting calls from this number, with no voicemail. If it is Providence College alumni donations, they should at least leave a message.

Why does this # keep calling me and not leave a VM?

It's definitely from Providence College. The thing I don't understand is how they got my phone number. I don't even have a phone hooked up to it!

they leave no voice message, which is odd for a "legitimate" call. I've opted out of Providence College's Alumni emails, so find this particularly annoying if it is from them. Do students do the fund-raising? Is this a scam rather than a legitimate call from the College?
Lady 2012-02-17 21:23:31 Unknown
I've received several of these calls, but whoever is making them leaves no voice mail. That's odd, if the call is legitimate.
steve 2011-06-06 20:46:59 Unknown
might be Providence College alumni donations

Every college and private high school does this. Don't think that it is only PC. And 'Phone Abused' get off your high horse - all you have to say to them, (in a polite manner) is "No thanks, not this year" It's not like they are trying to sell you some crappy product or service.

I also received a call. I currently have kids there. Always makes me chuckle. As if my tuition isn't enough of a donation already...
John 2010-05-05 00:54:07 Unknown
Yes it's those pc kids hitting up wealthy alums

I'm glad to see they can use confidential information productively...and you wonder why I don't want to give out my address, telephone number and name.

Yes, that is correct it is students from PC asking for donations.
