Wow, this number dates back to 2007! Got a call at 5:23, no message. Glad that I turn the ringer off during the day as I was napping. Reported and blocked.

I just talked to this person...they said they were from Playboy and wanted to know if my daughter wanted to renew her prescription.  I answered "no" because I knew she didn't want to because it was originally a gift for someone.  He got made and asked
"why not"..I just said "she's moving away"  he asked where she was moving.  I said now you are crossing the line....he said "no I'm not" that's when I hung up.

Just got a call, they said it was Publishers Clearing or something like that.  They insisted I'm a preferred subscriber to Playboy.  Totally untrue -- caller argued with me.   I told him to take my name off the list and hung up.  Caller ID said Rhode Island caller....

Have received numerous calls from this and other numbers being used by this company. They always say they handle my ESPN magazine subscription, but I've never had an ESPN subscription. I'm on the DO NOT CALL registry but still receive calls from them. Have reported them numerous times. People working for company are often times rude. If they call you just cuss them out and hang up. If my job was calling people to harrass them, I'd expect no less.

Call to cell phone... didn?t answer, no voice mail

They're using the number again after a long absence.  It could be a DIFFERENT telemarketer after all those years or someone spoofing this number.  They call but leave no message on the voice mail.  I'm just going to block them for I know no one in Rhode Island that I want to talk to!

Just got a call. A young man wanted my husband to discuss 'his account'.  He would not tell what company he is with or what it's regarding because it is 'the company policy".  Really?  I kept asking questions and he hang up.

I, too, don't answer my phone when I see unfamiliar numbers with strange area codes.  HOW ON EARTH DID THEY GET MY CELL PHONE NUMBER is what I want to know.

Got a call from 1-401-889-9876 this morning at May 9, 2009, when I tried to answer the call they hang-up on me. I am glad I check this out in the internet. Actually, I was tempted to answer the call. Thanks for the info.

I just ended a very colorful conversation with representatives from the number 401-889-9876, I picked up and I had "won" a vacation package in Mexico. Its my day off and I get a kick out of telemarketers so I listened to the offer. Long story short- the only way I could claim my offer was to give a credit card number. Thankfully I am not retarded so I said no. My call was transferred to a manager, a slick talking moron who only further pushed the subject. I explained to him that I wouldn't give my credit card number to a stranger, and he said "We are not strangers we are friends trying to give you an excellent deal" From Mexico?? No thanks Pedro, the last thing I need is a hangover, a sunburn, and the swine flu. If they call any of you again, and you are in need of a giggle have a chat with them- but do NOT give them any credit card information because they will take your money and run (I googled their company name) I have to find better ways to entertain myself on my days off. got this call a 9.47 am 5/08/09    it seems to be a spanish scam claiming that i won some money.

is a scam they try to get you credit card # by saying you won a prize is in spanish most of the time. whe you try to call the # is disconnected.

You know, every time you call it back you are confirming your phone number and provoking further communications from this jerk.  Just put them on the blocked/screened list (those of you that can)

gota call at 1:06 PST message stated I won a prize and only for Telus customers, which I am, I did not press one, I waited instead and line closed-I notified Telus straight away

Yeah, just got called by this number, and another last night(?) that was also garbage.  Didn't answer because it said  "TN Removal Line" and that's too ambiguous for me.

Well i got a call from this number around 12:09 pm. on jan 8 i called back but the same thing as the others, it was disconected , it also said i was calling to rhode island if anyone knows this tell me

I got the same call earlier today when I was at work and when I called back, it said it was disconnected.  I wonder who it is and why are they calling....

I received this call in the evening, I didn't answer and when I called it said the Number has been disconnected. I believe this is one of those people calling using SKYPE or VOIP!

I am about to call FBI or CBI about this, because, for the stuff I do I can't really have anyone calling me anytime!

Keep receiving calls from 401-889-9876 and no message left and I never called it back.  No idea who this is or how they received my cell phone number.
