I get this call at all hours of the day, it is very annoying.

Did not answer, but I've been getting strange calls from various numbers. This is the latest one.

just got a hang up from 401-973-3393

Have been getting calls from 401-444-4444 (Rhode Island), but got one from 401-973-3393 at about 6 p.m. today.  No person, then hang up.

Woman asked for my husband by name and would not speak w/me, after I said why are you calling my husband? She said Alarm systems? I then said please take us off you calling list, she said NO, I'll just call him back later, I said please do not, she then cut me off and kept saying uhha, uhha I will call......what a bit*h!

It kinda a weird because I first got a call from 994-578-4007 which I didn't answer than this number pops up. Scam I think.

There are two  possible scams here.  First it could be someone trying to figure out if you have an alarm system (or what kind) so they can break into your house or business.  Second option is you get a "free" alarm system, but then they make money off of the monthly monitoring fee.   Either way, don'y give ANY ifo to these people!

I have been receiving calls from this number regularly for several days now. Whenever I answer, the caller doesn't respond and then he/she hangs up on me. It is aggravating.

Just got this call. Shows up on Caller ID as "Name Unavailable." They wanted to speak to my husband and I said he wasn't here so they asked if I was the wife. They said that one of us answered a survey and we were going to be awarded with a free security system which would be installed for free. We would just have to tell our friends about how much we loved it after the fact. And we would be responsible for the monitoring which would be "oh about a dollar a day!" They went through all would be included and wanted to pass me through to the person who would answer questions so I could make an "educated decision." I told them I wasn't interested and hung up!! Bet they'll call again!

Yes I go a phone call 3 or 4 times a day...WTF!!!  I want it to stop...  we need to find a way to block these kind of phone calls..

this number is showing up on my caller id and is calling at least once a day and hangs up on us when we answer. i dont want this company or people to call me anymore.

My caller ID said it was from Rhode Island but also from Alarm Systems. They had sent me a survey to fill out and paid me $10 CASH for my troubles. Too much private information required. I just mailed it back when I got the phone call that said I had won a FREE $1200 alarm system and wanted me to set up an appointment for installation from a local company (???). We have plenty of alarm companies here, why don't they call me themselves? Besides, NOTHING is free. They haven't called back ... yet.

401-973-3393 has now gotten hold of my phone number, as per your advise, I called FTC to file a complaint, they seemed very interested when taking my information. I was given a reference number to use if I had other information to add on to the complaint at a later date, I was also given an email address to file a complaint if I didn't want to call it in spam@uce.gov.

The calls are coming in more frequently, I have a cable phone line that gives information as to where this call is coming from  401-973-3393  location is from Romania.

As per another blogger's post I took his suggestion to block the calls....It's an easy fix for me to block unwanted calls now....thanks to people like for helping remedy this problem.

I get a call from this number two to three times a day and they always hang up.  I tried something the phone company told me to do to trace it and got no where - unless I will will to report it to the Police.

The only way to stop these calls is for everyone to call the Federal Trade Commision and nail these guys!!  The more reports they get the better.  You can actually talk to a person and it only takes a few minutes.  DO IT!!!

I too have been getting these annoying calls.  The phone company said to call the Federal Trade Commission at 877-382-4357 and report it and the company can get fined for doing this. It's easy to do and I think it is worth it for all the aggravation it's causing.  Good Luck!

Multiple calls per week from same number.  No reply when picked up.

This number calls up to 4 times a day and I am registered with the do not call list.  They let the machine go on and then hang up.  Scammers!

Why would you tell them anything instead of just hanging up? After blowing a whistle in the phone perhaps.

Just got a call from this alarm company telemarketer! Just say not interested, and you are part of neighborhood watch, if they ask if you have elderly family members living, just tell them you have family members in the medical field that stay with them! Get yourself registered with the do not call list!

they keep calling and NEVER leave a message.

I receive a call from this number at least 3 times every single day for the past 2 weeks. Whenever I pick up they hang up and when I try to call back it says the number is no longer working. One time they called and we did not answer the phone and we heard them say DIANE when our answering machine was on but by the time we could get to the phone they had hung it.

I've received 7 calls from them over the past 3 days. However, hopefully they are over. I discovered that FiOS Digital Voice has a way to block calls from a certain number, so I put them in that list. Unless they get upset and switch to another outgoing number, I should not be getting any more calls from them.

Got a call on Feb.24.2011 from a company called Alarm Systems.
I told them I was on don't call list and they don't care at all.

It's an alarm company telemarketer. First they call and have you do a pretend survey about home security then they say you are entered to win a free security system. A month later they call back and say yoou won the contest. They offer to install the system for free. The catch is that you have to sign a contract for their monitoring service. Just a marketing scam.
