Just got a call from this number (and it's not the first time)
This time I pressed one, it went silent for quite a while, then an caucasian-american sounding woman answered, "Did you press 1 to lower your interest rate?"
I said, "No, I pressed 1 to speak to someone about not calling me anymore"
And she huffed and said, "Ma'am, that's not why you're supposed to press 1"
and I said "there was no other option given"
And she hung up on me.
WHAAAAT?
I tried calling the number back and it goes to an unactivated voicemail. This is ridiculous. (and yes, I'm on the do-not-call list)

Got a call - didn't answer; then called back and got the following message "I'm sorry, the person who called you has not set up a voice mailbox yet."
This "person" should swallow their phone and choke on it.

I am on the Do Not Call list. This should be reported by everyone on the DNC list if they are getting SCAM calls like these.

These guys had a BUNCH of my credit info and claimed they could lower all my card rates to under 6%. When I asked them how they got paid, they put a manager on the line. He said they only get paid if my rates get lowered. I told him I was not going to give him my credit card numbers and that this was starting to feel like a scam. HE HUNG UP ON ME! I tried calling the number back and got a recording saying it was not a working number. DEFINITELY SCAMMERS. For what it's worth, both of the guys I spoke with sounded african-american. Area code 402 is in Nebraska. I think I will contact law enforcement in that area, even though they obviously have software that allows them to display a phony number.

Just missed the call (darn!). No message.

Answered: nobody on the line.
This is probably a # verification call: they make sure the # is good with a legit looking prefix (instead of an 800 #). When you answer it you have just verified that this is a good number (not a fax or modem?) Now they will call with a human (from another number sometimes) and try to scam you, or they sell your "verified" number to every scammer and scum sucking "charity" that will pay for it. They get more money for lists of numbers that have been verified so they don't give a flying F&@k if it pi$$es you off.
FYI: There is an android and iPhone app that will robocall them back constantly - but it is illegal for you do it
FYI(2): If your phone cannot block calls, save them to your contacts and set the ringtone to "none" or "silent". They can call all they want and you'll never be bothered by it again.
Also; write to your state and federal congresscritters about this. Be advised that these folks give TONS of money to politicians - so don't be surprised if your's is on their payroll.

This phone number has called me ~50 times in the past three months. When I "press 1" to finally talk to a REAL person, they hang up as soon as I ask them to take me off their call list. When I try and research the company, Cardholder Servicing, or call the number back, the number has been "disconnected" and the company "does not exist" online. I have also had phone calls from 4 other numbers associated with this company from various states. I did some research and found that this scam was originally ran by SBN Peripherals, Inc. and their shell company Asia Pacific Telecom, however their operation was shut down around 09. How they were able to come back to continue their scam or create a non-existing number, I don't know. Please, if you have been called by this number repeatedly, report the call to
donotcall.gov
If enough people complain, the company will be shut down again and we will no longer have to screen our calls.

instead of telling them you want off of their list, just play along. give wrong name, but give them a name...keep them on the phone...ask them questions...then give wrong social security number...then ask questions...
they hang up quick cuz they know they wont get any valuable info from you, but keep them on the line and it slows them down and makes them angry...the longer you string them along the less calls they'll make and the less info they'll get and the less money they'll make.
seems to be the only recourse right now since Do Not Call is a joke.
