It may sound like a real person (as the people here have referenced), but it is actually a recording that sounds very conversational. Try not speaking, or asking the guy to stop to clarify something.

Seems like a scam.

You broke the **FIRST RULE** given by the BBB for handling telephone scams.
(from http://www.bbb.org/blog/2013/04/fake-employme ... ith-scam-calls/ ):

(1) "Hang up, don?t press any buttons and don?t call the scammer back. We all like to have the last word, but returning the phone call may just give the con artist information he can use."

(2) "Never give out personal information such as credit card numbers, bank account numbers, dates of birth or social security numbers to unfamiliar callers."

(3) "Never give a caller remote access to your computer."

(4) "If you do want to make a purchase, always ask for the salesperson?s name, business, phone and address (and verify this information!) before handing over money. Legitimate businesses understand that you want more information about their company and are happy to comply."

(5) "File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission to help track down scammers."

Some effeminate-sounding dude (no name given) claimed that I filled out some survey for a company a week ago, which I did NOT. couldn't understand the company name, so I asked him to repeat it twice and he kept ignoring my question and asking me to answer some more questions for a job opportunity. I hung up after he didn't answer my question a third time. Seemed like a phishing scam... DON'T GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFO!!!

I missed a call from 402-216-0158 so i have been in the habit of googling numbers i do not recognize. I called the number back and a recording indentified them as WN Positions stating that I had somehow shown interest in job opportunities via the web, which I hadn't. Then the recording had an option 9 to remove my number from the call list. We'll see...

If you reached "WN Positions," that has been widely reported as a scam, and the "person" at the other end is nothing but a chatbot that transcribes what you say, as is evident from recordings of people trying to talk to it.  Yes, I do mean "it."

Here are some scam warnings:

http://www.9wsyr.com/content/news/real_deal/s ... Tr3RujcsWg.cspx

http://www.bbb.org/blog/2013/04/fake-employme ... ith-scam-calls/

If you want to hear someone trying to talk to their robocaller, or just want to hear what direction a call might take with them, check this out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHpKwrQYnRo

There's no real person answering their phone.  It's just a bunch of prerecorded snippets made to sound like a live caller and and a rudimentary voice recognition program that records what you say and controls which snippet plays next.  You might be old enough to remember when a fake psychoanalysis system called "Eliza" became popular about the time personal computers for everyone first came into vogue.  It did pretty much the same thing as WN Solutions, but on an old-fashioned text-only terminal and without the larcenous intent.

You can actually try it out for yourself here:

https://apps.facebook.com/eliza-chatbot/

Telling your troubles to Eliza is much more fun and considerably safer than talking to WN Solution's chatbot, however.

Actually, I do not have MetroPCS.  The call arrived on a Sprint cell phone on a regular contract.  As far as I know, the number has never been serviced by MetroPCS.  At least, not since I've had it.

I checked the MetroPCS web site and it looks like they use the AT&T system, not the CDMA system that Sprint uses.  So MetroPCS probably have no access to lists of Sprint customers, nor do the scammers.  They're probably just randomly or sequentially dialing numbers.  That's easy to do, and they can easily target cell phones specifically if they want.  The ranges of numbers controlled by the various carriers, landline or otherwise, is easy to get.

Eventually, if they call enough numbers quickly enough, they will generate a commotion on this site, and people will ask, "How did they get my number?" and others will say, "The do not call list is a joke,"  often in precisely those words.  Quite predictable, really.

Don't get me wrong - your is quite legitimate and worth asking.  Unfortunately, the answer doesn't seem to help in this case.

Telemarketer
Called my cell for the second time today. The first time was July 1st. Robo-calls to cells are illegal. The number goes straight to my blacklist. I don't give my cell # to anyone other than friends and family. I never filled out an online firm as claimed by the caller by previous posters. No message was left on either call.
I called back using *67. I got a recording for WM Positions asking to call back during normal business hours. I wasn't looking to speak to anyone. Just to confirm the offending caller, before reporting it.

Do you have Metropcs.? I only get these calls on phone #'s that originated  from metro pcs. I have two #'s that I purchased from metropcs and I only receive these types of calls from metropcs derived #'s. I'm beginning to think that metropcs probably sells/shares customers phone #'s.

I get calls from WN Positions on my Metropcs #'s. Very fishy.

This caller called my cell stating that I had participated in a survey about employment. I've been at the same company for 20 years and have not taken any surveys. This is a scam call asking for personal info and needs to be stopped.

FINALLY - I received a REAL JUNK PHONE CALL on my cell phone.  It arrived just over 15 minutes ago from the number reported in this thread.

I really wanted to play "you are a bigger fool than you take me to be" with a scammer someday, but I couldn't bring myself to answer the call.  I have actually trained myself so well that I CANNOT pick up calls from unknown numbers, no matter how hard I try.  I ALWAYS let them go to voice mail first.  (I suppose that means that someone else will get to have all the fun of playing the game.)  Of course, my caller did not stay on long enough to leave a message.

In any event, I'm glad I didn't choose this particular caller to fool with, because it is likely just a machine.  I scanned the Internet to try to get more information (after coming here first, of course) and found the usual complaints.  However, I also came up with an article by the BBB entitled, "Fake Employment Agency Fools Job Hunters with Scam Calls" by Emily Patterson, Apr. 5, 2013.  The article is found at
http://www.bbb.org/blog/2013/04/fake-employme ... ith-scam-calls/
and starts out:

"Don?t be fooled by a new wave of fake phone calls. Scammers are posing as an employment agency and fooling job hunters into parting with personal information."

The article continues:

"You receive a call from a business named WN Positions. The caller is supposedly an employment agency wanting to interview you in response to a job survey you allegedly completed online. The caller sounds very natural, like a real customer service agent, and it takes you a few moments to realize it?s actually a pre-recorded robo-call."

You can read the rest by clicking on the link above.  If you do, you will notice a number of comments appended to the article.  A few of them report that the number indicated here is a "WN Positions" number, as does at least one other comment posted in this thread.  The other comments appended to the BBB article report some of the other numbers that they use.

Anyway, I hope the information I was able to find in 15 minutes of Internet searching is helpful to some here.  If nothing else, please read and internalize the information in the BBB article on how to protect yourself from phone scams, and try not to pick up the phone when you see that it is from a number you don't recognize.  I have taken steps to block their calls.

To all, this number is not a real person, it is a recording that know what to ask based on your answer.
If you do the legwork you will find out that the company standing behind this, is Degree Finder or finders.

The whole idea is for you to give you info and for them to try and sale you a new degree.

I just got a call.  I was looking into integrated nutrition and as I was taking a survey it called.  I didn't answer. But it definitely Is not an issue. If I don't wish to speak With someone,  I simply do not answer Until I am ready.  Good to know people are doing their jobs correctly.

They called my cell number. I never give out my cell number so right away it seemed phony. The person tried to make it seem legit by saying calls would be recorded, but I quickly opted out and by saying,  "I choose not to participate" and then hung up.

A guy from this number called me yesterday morning while I was at work. He said he was calling because I indicated interest in job opportunities during an online survey that I had completed recently. I told him that I have not completed any surveys recently but when I do I do not give me phone number. I told him that I have a great job which I was at and told him not to call me back. He repeated what he had already said. I hung up and blocked the number.
