These clowns just had the nerve to call me at 7:07 am on a Monday morning! Unbelievable nerve! Caller ID reads "Yellow Book". Isn't it illegal for them to call me this early?

They call to verify if you get them because they are paying people to deliver them.....they want to make sure that they are delivered by people they're paying to do a job.....stop being rude.  It only takes a minute to say yes or no....or ignore it.  Thank goodness for this site, though.

Call came from "Yellow Book" have been told to stop calling. If their book does arrive it will be recycled.

This phone call seems legit but I didn't think so initially. Apparently there IS a phone book on our porch and I didn't know it. I just hung up on the caller after listening to the automated message asking me to press 1 for yes that I received the phone book or 2 for no. It does seem like a waste of paper since we received 2 phone books just recently. I'm sick of phone books. They serve no purpose other than to advertise products and services that I don't want! If I want to look up a phone number for a business I go online. I can understand phone books for people in rural cities who may not have access to the internet but these days most people have some form of internet access. There is always the option to call Information which is 555-1212 I think. Some phone companies include it free with their service. There is a free Information for many cell phone providers such as Straight Talk. So it's a huge waste of money and paper to produce these phone books that most people do not need.

The purpose of the call is to ensure that the books were delivered so that the delivery company gets paid.  They call a subset of households that received the books to validate the delivery. If there are too many non-deliveries reported the company may not get paid.  Since these calls are not attempting to sell you anything, they are exempt from the Do Not Call list.

We got the same call and were requested to "press 1" if we'd received the book.  Needless to say, we didn't bother.  Why in the world would they check on delivery of a book that many people trash the moment they get it.  Mine went straight from the porch into the recycle bin.  Unless you know the caller, it seems the only other calls we get are from people trying to scam us.  Sad state of affairs.  The do-no-call list is a joke as is reporting the callers.

CID said Yellow Book. After reading this I would assume they want to know if I got my book. Simple rule at my house, if I don't know who's calling they don't get an answer. And no machine either since I don't want their hang up or their message.

+1 to that.  Hard to believe they have people who pay be advertise in them.

The Yellow Book company pays individuals to deliver their free yellow pages. And they call around to check that the books were delivered before they pay the person who delivered them.

It is a call checking on whether I received my Yellow Book phone book....which I did, a few days ago....But from Omaha Nebraska!???

Who the frak needs a physical phone book nowadays when you can get the info on the internet.

reporting to NAT DO NOT CALL, so they can see one more case of info about these people..maybe if get enough they'll go check into it if not anything else..

Got a call from these people shortly after receiving the YellowBook last week.  I was home when the book was delivered to my porch and answered the door when they (two men) rang the bell to tell me they're delivering the books in my area.  
They then said they noticed my front windows need upgrading etc and am I thinking of replacing them (??)
Seems like some businesses are now partnering up to 'bundle' unsolicited services in a legitimate-looking way to get directly to our front doors.  That's a misleading and sneaky invasion of privacy.  Scary too.
There's an ordinance against door-to-door soliciting in my area, but maybe these organizations are looking for ways around that.

Received call about phonebook. Asked if I received it and if I needed more books. I asked for one more book. They did not ask for address and later I received another book.

didn't answer, threw the book in the recycle bin. with online directories, I have no need of a phonebook of any kind. these people are doing no one any favors.

What a wast of paper. They send you one every 3 or 4 months. You can find out what you
want on your own phone.

Thought the best place for a paper phone directory is the recycle bin, I'm all for them since most phone books are made of 100% recycled paper so no new trees are cut down to make them and making and delivering them gives people jobs.

The message seem to indicate it was Yellow Book, who wanted to know if I got my recycle bin fodder.

Guess they'll never know since I only use the number they called me on for voicemail. Here's a tip on how to not have to answer unwanted calls, Originally that number was my primary land line, but I transferred it to a VoIP line and do not have a phone plunged into it, a total virtual number to use for anyone who is not my doctor, my lawyer, my friend or a family member. I got a new number that I have given to them, I haven't had to answer any unwanted calls in four years now, while still getting messages from those I'd rather just call back at my convenience like my bank.

You are dumb, obviously.  They were just checking to see if you received you phone book.  I got a yellow phone book and days later got a call asking me if it arrived.  Get a clue; not everyone is trying to scam you.

ON MARCH 6, 2012 at 4:08 a called from the above number JAMMED MY PHONE LINE FOR OVER AN HOUR!!!!!!!!  PLEASE DO NOT CALL MY NUMBER AGAIN.  I AM SENDING THIS COMPLAINT TO MY PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISONER.

Damn, now I feel bad.  I Killed that guy at the door a couple of days ago and put him in the freezer.

I only got 'one' call from this number but was not here to answer. There were no other calls from them listed in my phone log. Here is the date / time called: 11-12-11, 10:11 AM. No other calls dating from Feb. '11 to Dec. '11.

Yellow Book...don't know why they had to call me, I am on the Do Not Call registry so this was an illegal call.

They bypassed (Robocall) my solicitor rejection announcement and bothered me anyways

Here is the text from the message they just left me:

"Hi this is yellow book calling to verify that you received your new yellow book phone directory. If you have not received the new directory or you'd like to request additional books please contact yellow book at 18884928721. To speak to one of our customers service representatives. Again that number is 18884928721. Thank you for your time. Goodbye."

I got the call from this recorder today. A female voice.

CALLED TWICE. NO ANSWER.

Yellow Book robot asking my answering machine to press 1 or 2 to answer whether it got the new phone book, which came in the mail.  My answering machine was not able to answer their robot as it can only record messages, not answer questions by pushing buttons! DUMB ROBOT!

who is this?  I have a call on my caller id - yet no message.  I think they have called before.
