Received call from the same number with the same as above...lady just starts asking about my business. When I asked who and what she need the information for she replied "American Chamber of Commerce." I asked her how she originally got my business information she hung up. I did not verify anything other then the company name which she got when I answered the phone. I also called the number back and the same recorded message. Definitely a fishy call. I hope they do call back...

Caller didn't introduce herself simply said "Is this (our company name)?"  "Yes."  "Are you located at (business address)?"  "Yes."  "Is (former manager) still manager at this location?"  I finally asked what in the world this was regarding, Caller replied she was updating our information for The Chamber (which we already legitimately belong to the local Chamber of Commerce).  I asked which chamber?  She replied the American Chamber (WTF?)...have a good day bye....

The man on the line asked if this was the business that we just said that it was.  He then asked if our address was our address.  He then asked if a made up name was still the owner of the business, and when asked who he was, he said he was updating our business profile for the chamber of commerce.  Sounds fishy.

Caller asking for the name of our business and address.  I asked why he needed verification and he said he is updating for the Chamber of Commerce and I told him we don't verify anything over the phone.  He mumbled something and hung up the phone.

Great idea.

Two calls from this number this morning 29 minutes apart.

Load them up with bogus information.  Poison the well.  As they are probably some scummy data-broker, the best thing you can do is give them invalid information.  When they sell that information, and it proves false, it will damage their business.  Also, when you get a call for "Alfred E Newman" from someone else, you'll know who they bought the information from.

Any unknown caller that obviously isn't interested in being your customer, but just fishing for business details should be treated to a heaping load of BS.  If enough people did that, it would put them out of business, as well as their scummy customers.

I received a call from 402-509-5055. The guy asked for the name of the business and gave it to him. When he asked for the name of the owner, I asked who is calling. He told me that the call was from the Chamber or Commerce. Then, I asked him to wait a second while I googled the number. When I read that there were too many reports with this number, I hung up. I am concern about the many calls I receive which are suspicious and the emails that I received weekly with virus. Has anybody had problems with Chrome? I got an spyware/adware that attaches itself to chrome.

i have a rule don't recognize the number I do not answer. I do not care who or what they are looking for where they are from, or what is it that they want. These stupid calls start mon. at am sometimes they go till fri  pm. (I guess they are off on weekends) You never know who is the first stupid call will be from on a Monday, I press reject. The next time they call they use a different number, so I block that too, but it is a loosing game they multiply faster than rabbits. I don't even know or care who or what they are, I just know I am SICK & TIRED of them already there is no end in site or any help from anyone to stop them from calling. I had to disconnect my answering machine so they cannot leave a message the phone keeps ringing 12, 14 times till they hang up.

Called again ---no introduction--- "Are you at 123----?" I told her I am never able to update company information over the phone.

Just got a call from this number. She immediately asked if this was 'Company XYZ' without saying hello or introducing herself. She then immediately asked if your address was '1234 Random Road'. I asked her what it was pertaining to. She claimed to be from the American Chamber of Commerce and they are updating their records. I told her to hold on. I googled her number and before I could tell her off she had hung up.

They are trying to collect data on companies, and are not a part of the C of C - as I'm pretty sure any tax paying, licensed company would already have their data with the C of C and is updated annually. What they are using the information for I have no clue.

I just got a call from this number.  I willingly verified the company name, address and President's name, all of which you can easily find on the internet, and so I didn't really see the problem.  But when she asked to verify the number of employees, I started asking questions.  She said quite forcefully/brusquely, "I am with the Chamber of Commerce, Please verify that you have ____ employees" at which point I hung up.

I just received a call from this number.  I receive calls like this a few times a week at our business.  I NEVER verify information over the phone and I am shocked that so many people just give out information randomly.  It is an obvious lack of attention to detail to be so careless because you are "busy".  Every person who calls your business should get your undivided attention.  It's called customer service.  If you had better customer services skills, you wouldn't  have given out info to a fraudulent company.  Attention to detail is so lax in this country and this is why companies like this call your business.  Don't give out information EVER.  If any of you were my employees who just gave out random info, you would no longer be working for me.  Your lack of how the business world operates is evident.

The woman on the phone never identified herself, just started by asking, "Are you located at 12-----..." I cut her off and told her I cannot update any information over the phone.

just called here -- did not identify themselves or why calling asked if our company address was one of 4 years previous I said no -- asked what present one was, I asked why said they were updating the Chamber of Commerce records, I asked which COC - they said the national one -- said we don't belong and hung up

Got the same call, and unfortunately I was on the other line, and stupidly gave them updated mailing address for our company. She to identified herself as calling on behalf of the nation chamber of commerce, as a matter of fact I asked twice who she was with and that's the answer.
Don't know where everyone else lives or works but they must now be working NW Florida.
I do love the blood, blood everywhere comment I'm always so busy and smart comments don't ever seem to come to mind at that moment!

Just received a call from them.  Matter of fact two of them.  1st one they did not leave a message.  Second one I answered.  She started asking questions and I answered a few of them.  Then when I asked who is this, she said the Chamber of Commerce, have a nice day and hung up.  Wished I had not answered any of her questions at all.  The number is out of Omaha Nebraska.  I usually don't answer my phone unless it shows the name of the person who is calling.

Called (no introduction) and asked if our company address  was 1234 ----------- St.  I asked who was calling and why they needed that information.  She replied: "Chamber of Commerce".  I just hung up on her.

girl called and tried getting address and other info, asked who it was asking for it and she said the chamber of commerce.  when i asked why she was calling from Nebraska, which is where i am originally from, she hung up.

I just got the same call you did and I ask her if it was REALLY necessary she hung up on me also. Seems as thought there isn't anything we can do to stop it and I and registered with the fcc.gov do-not-call list!!

Just received a call from this number and the lady ask knew our company's name and address she said she was updating her records for the chamber of commerce, when I ask her name and if this was really necessary she hung up on me so i decided to call the number back and the recording said " this number is for outgoing calls only and to be removed leave name, company name and you will be removed with 3 business days" so I did  but i positive it will not do any good !!! i'm beginning to wonder if there is ANYWAY to put a stop to all this JUNK!!! they need a legal job and let's see how long they would last!!

Caller asked for business information, said they were from the "Chamber of Commerce". I could see from caller ID that they weren't calling from our state. So I asked WHICH state's CoC they were calling from, and they said they were calling from the "American Chamber of Commerce".  There is no such organization affiliated with US federal or state governments - they are fishing for info.

Caller just launched into questions without identifying herself. When I asked who is asking, she said, American Chamber of Commerce, is my request possible?" I told her we only deal with our local chamber of commerce and hung up on her.

Received a call from this number. Lady started asking questions about the company. I asked who she was and she said she was with the Chamber of Commerce and was updating our information.

I just received the same call, I gave them bogus info. She was very persistent on asking for company information with no real explanation as to why?

They've called 10 times in the last 8 minutes, hanging up on me the first 3 times.  I stopped answering it.

a good thing of being a loner is that no one ever calls you, much less at 8 am.

the phone did come up as a Mobile number as well.
When the person called they asked if they were calling (my business name) I just
said wrong number and hung up. After reading this..so glad I did.
