Anyone else getting calls from this phone number?

This may not work for everyone but, I have been leaving my phone off the hook all the time at night and during the day,and the few times I was expecting phone calls from friends and put the phone back on the hook,these people started calling again.I do to them what I do on my cell phone when getting calls of these type-Pick up and hang up on them all within a second or less.my friends do this too when they receive calls like this!
I also believe these people are calling me with "Blocked Numbers","Private" and "Unknown Caller" also.EVERY  single time I do the pick up/hang up in one second,literally 30 seconds to within a few mns, I get a call from one of the "Unknowns" mentioned above.They usually give up for a few days when I do both things I mentioned.I hoping they eventually bore of me and stop when they realize they are never going to get through.Plus, I'm thinking it irritates them too!

They call 10 times a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These people will not stop calling our house! They call from dawn until 10:Pm every day.The few times we have answered,after a few seconds, they always hang up.We can't afford cell phones and having a home phone is much cheaper for us.We have been keeping the phone off the hook all day but it's at the point, where we will either cut our phone service or change our number.I almost think what is the point of changing our number if there's a chance they can get it again and continue calling?

So, annoying, these people started calling bright and early again this morning,every few minutes.I,too have been taking my phone off the hook every day.We have been discussing cutting our phone service all together [which we did with our cell phones due to the same problem] since we barely use our phone any way.We got behind on our phone bill last month so it will probably be shut off anyway.

Has called 6-times on 31Oct, and now once on 01Nov2010...the first time I talked to them they said they were National Wildlife Foundation...they are obviously using Nebraska's Directory Assistance telephone number to spoof/scam. Proper authorities are now aware, and Neb Directory Assistance has said they have received many phone calls about this. They laughed when I asked to be on Do-not-call list from this number, and said she doesn't have the authority to do that...

Same thing here. Every 15 minutes these people are calling...from around 10am to 10pm. I've had my phone off the hook since 11am yesterday. I've reported them to FCC but I doubt there's anything they can do since it's obviously a spoofed number. I've reported it to my carrier, Comcast, and that's about as effective as reporting it to a stuffed animal.

The same Number keeps calling me.When my sister called the number back earlier,a man answered and said,"Sprint 411,what information can I help you with?"[From other complaint I left earlier].However they still keep calling all the day,the latest was near 10:00Pm.My sister called the number back several times tonight and she keeps getting a recording that says It's Sprint 411,business hours are closed and to call back during business hours." There is something fishy about this number [re-routing the calls somehow?} after reading other complaints.If it's Sprint, why don't they respond when we answered the phone?Also dug around on the Sprint site-Sprint 411 is directory assistance,the customer calls them,[- 411] they don't call you.It says customers are allowed to ask up to three questions and they are charged 1.79 a mn.

555-1212 is directory assistance.  It works in every working area code and applies to that area code.  

If someone is calling you from that number they are spoofing the number.

The calls from this number started on 10-29-10.  I've received up to 6 calls in just a few hours until I had to unplug the phone.  It shows up NEBRASKA and I don't know any  one who lives there.  I looked the number up in white page search and it come back to a Sherry Sheery.  Who ever this is is a pest to say the least.  How can I stop them from calling me.  I can't leave my phone unplugged all the time.

I got tired of the same number calling (7 times today so far) so I decided to answer and find out who it was. The usual few seconds of silence, then some idiot asked for me by name. I told him to stop calling, all he said was, "thank you sir" and hung up. No, "ok sorry to bother you, we won't call again" just "thank you"

Is there any way to track these f*ckers down? I am seriously pissed

Keeps calling,caller ID says it's in Nebraska.My sister came over today and asked if she could answer the call.The several times she answered it,after several seconds the person would hang up.Finally she got her cell phone,blocked her number and called it.On the second ring a man answered,"Sprint 411,what information can I help you with". Not sure why it would be a phone call from Sprint.We haven't owned a cell phone for over 3 years,never have done business with them.

They have been calling all weekend as much as every 15 mins at times.  The DA should know by now I'm not going to answer the phone.  Gotta love that caller ID it shows up on my TV.

This DB has called more than 10 times in last three days. Amazing.

Called twice today (sunday) before noon. Googled the number and "Sherry Sheery" came up, probably a fake name. I don't bother answering if I don't know the number; they can leave a message if it's that important. but no message was left. I guess they are not important ;)

Has called twice in the last hour and has called several times day a in the last three days.  Comes up Directory Assistance NE, then the number 402-555-1212.  I googled it also, and a name of Sherry Sheery in NE came up. I answered it once and didn't say anything and waited for someone (something) to speak-Nothing!  I hung up.  I'm sure they will call again.

Getting phone calls from this number too.I googled the number and it looks like it may belong to someone who does online marketing and/or website domains.Not sure how they got my number since, I am not into this.

They have been calling all weekend.Today they have been calling every 10 mns.I have been digging around on the internet and there are quite a few sites [they look cheap like someone didn't put a lot of time or effort into them] and companies that say their number is 402-555-1212.Also,went to white pages and saw too, the number belongs to Sherry Sheery- name sounds fake and lists a PO box as the address.Sounds like some sort of scam.Which the police put several articles in local newspapers in my area  saying there are a lot of out-of-state phone scams going through my area right now.This number from Nebraska has been calling only on Saturdays and Sundays and in between every phone call, I get an "Unknown Caller" that calls-that stops calling when the Nebraska Number stops calling.I don't know anyone in Nebraska,nor do I answer the phone for anyone I don't know and we don't have voice mail or an answering machine so, they are just wasting their time.

This number has called six times in 2 days. 3 Times before noon alone today.

Same thing here.  They called a couple of times in the last few days. And today are calling about once per hr. GRRRR.

yup shows up from nebraska. called my home phone twice in last 2 days. tarred and feathered would be good result for these jerks

I've received 5 calls from this phone number just today.. I don't answer calls that don't give a name.  I have also received quite a few calls that give no name no number also.  Probably from the same person.  I love my caller ID lol  I looked the number up in white pages and it says it's from a Sherry Sheery.  I don't know any one in Nebraska so I don't answer the cals.  In the past when these people call i tell them I am disabled and not to call again but they still call.  So far they haven't tried my cell phone so but I don't answer calls on that either if I don't know who is calling so they are just wasting their time and mine.  They are a pest so I may have to have my number changed.

Calls our house phone,don't know who it is.One site I put the number into came up with a company called "Geniska Technologies" Didn't really say what exactly they do thought.Other sites I have went to says callers are having problems with repeated calls from this company and they have been reported several times to the FCC.
