My cell noted this as a recent call (I did not pick up and they left no message). I googled got both the Forentine Vellanueva name and this site (great site). Needless to say, I won't be calling back or accepting calls from that #.

They continue to call about a factory warranty on my car, my car is 10 years old, I put my # in to be removed from the list, and they still call. Has been going on for over 5 months, we are on a do not call list and I report it each time, just tired of being called

JA 2011-06-06 20:47:13 Unknown
Brittany. Info is accessible these d ays becaus they set up a computer to dial numbers at random....The computer then follows a pattern and starts dialing numbers in all area codes. It's not that your numbers are not listed, eventually, with software that can make multiple calls and combinations in not ime, we will eventually get called, listed or not.
Notice the message is inc=variably a pre-recorded one.

Same call. Warranty extension scam. Who wants to drop by Mr. Villanueva's house and explain to him that this is not acceptable?

I got a call a few minutes ago. When I asked what vehicle this was about, the guy just hung up. He just said your vehicle warranty has been extended before he hung up. Weird. Any insight into what kind of fraud this is? They got my mobile number.

Just got a call from the same number and waited to talk to a rep. because I thought I might be a victim of identity theft. When I was connected I stated the problem and my concerns briefly and was immidiatley hung up on. When I returned the cal almost instantaniously the number was already disconnected. WTF!!!
Melody 2011-06-06 20:47:13 Unknown
I've been getting this call for a few months now.. and like most people, I was worried my insurance was actually expiring. (Who keeps track of those things, right?) So I connected to their rep and got some chick in India. I was curious enough to give her my name and a few brief details, just to find out who the company was of course.
Long story short, it's most likely a scam, proceed with caution.

I got mine around 5:15 pacific time. I had my ringer off at the time and just checked my messages. I would not be hasty in assuming there is someone named Florentino Villanueva. Just as it is easy to 'war-dial', so to is it easy to spoof a ph # and then top-list it on google. The people that do this are likely selling nothing, regardless of what they say. They are likely eliciting as much information from you as they can. When you don't give them what they want, they proceed down their list. Sadly, a number of people will give out their info. Fortunately places like this site exist that we may share the perpetrating callers attack with others. My technique varies, but is generally simply hanging up on the caller. If they call back tell them the next call you make will be to the police. Then follow through if they call again. Fair winds to y'all.<br>

Just got a call from these folks myself, on my cell phone. Didn't answer, and they left no message. I know no one in Nebraska (I'm in Tampa Bay) so I googled and found this site. GREAT resource. Today isJuly 22, and it's interesting to note that the first post about these jokers was July 17. They must have just kicked off a scam campaign into high gear.

I just got a call from 4025628737 and pressed 1 to talk to a representative. He asked me if I would like to have my warranty updated. Since I am a student, and I had no clue what this was about, and my mom is in charge of my car, I asked for a number to call back because I wanted to talk to her first. They immediately hung up on me. Then I googled it and found this website, so thanks :)

I am getting the same call on my cell phone several times from several other numbers as well in addition to one in the message. Here are the numbers - 702-520-1489/1487; 484-380-3096; 918-375-2671. I am absolutely frustrated and alos hits my cell phone bill. Got the same results on Google
Florentino Villanueva (402) 562-8737 816 3rd St, Columbus, NE 68601.
Somebody needs to report this to governing authorities. This is a nuisance.

Is there any way to block numbers? I am on the do not call list and it is my cell phone they keep calling. I don't know how to proceed because when I call the f*ckers back the line doesn't work.
shelly 2011-06-06 20:47:13 Unknown

Didn't answer but came a day after the scam post card, had this before and when I told them my next call was going to be to the FBI, and that they had violated federal statutes the promptly hung up.

Got a call today, didn't answer, no message left on my voicemail. I've been getting these auto warranty calls on my cell phone periodically for a few months now. I have AT&T and so does my friend who also got one of these calls.
Frank 2011-06-06 20:47:13 Unknown
This number: 1-402-562-8737 does NOT belong to any one individual warranty company. It is a ghost number used by phone service companies that provide leads to the warranty company.
So this number could be used by multiple companies. The ONLY way to really find out who is calling you is to play along and pretend that you really want to buy their product and tell them you wish to call them right back with a credit card. They will give you their number. Call it back and you'll have your answer! good luck!
