Buildings are not cheap and not everyone is able to buy it. However, loans are invented to support people in such situations.

The reason they can get around the DNC list is they are not trying to sell anything. It is a loophole that "researchers" use. Technically they arent violating the DNC. Too bad. I wish DNC meant DNC.

Go to prconline.com and at the bottom of the page on the right hand side is a picture of a phone that says "Why is PRC calling me?" Click on the picture of the phone and it will direct you to a page that allows you to enter the phone number that they are calling to have your number removed from their call list, make sure that you select submit and on the next page click on no thanks, remove me from list. it states 2-3 weeks for number to be removed.

Just got a call from them too.  So glad to have this website to avoid paying cell bills...I promptly looked it up as they were still calling and didn't answer because of your comments.  Thanks.

All of you that are on the do not call list FYI, the do not call list only applies to telemarketers.  Research firms and donations gatherers are exempt.  If you politely ask them to take your number off the list most will do so immediately.  Keep in mind these are probably just college students and professionals with a second job trying to make ends meet.  There is no need to be rude, just tell them to take you off of their calling list, or if you have a few minutes do the survey, you can refuse any question you are uncomfortable with.  Most people are paid on how many surveys they complete.  I worked for a Market Research firm for 7 years and they have been in business for 15 years, I promise you if they were "stealing identities" or selling information (which FYI is VERY illegal and WILL get a research firm SHUTDOWN).  Then they wouldn't be around very long.  So think about it the next time someone calls you with a survey, research the company and then make an educated decision based on fact but don't be unnecessarily mean, they have feelings and families to feed just like the rest of us.

These guys have been calling me almost every night.  After reading through other people's experiences, I too called their toll free number and requested that they remove my number from their call list (I am already registered on the Do Not Call list)  The lady was very nice...we'll see if the calls actually stop now.

Just called me, lol! I am at work and thought I would check it out...

Said he was with Survey company but only asked who my childs dr was.  Did not ask how I liked the service or anything.

And then he said...."OK BYE."

That is what made me suspicious!

I do not want them calling me acting weird like that....

Mommy101:  That was just someone new at the job acting unprofessional.  The reason why he did what he did is because he was supposed to ask for how your child was cared for by a certain doctor, but couldn't give you any information regarding that according to HIPAA guidelines, so he has to go off of what you give him.  It's a very awkward system, I know, and it makes things a bit confusing.

To everyone that wants to know where this company got their number from: The people on the phones don't know either.  I would call the company and ask if you're that curious.

This company is PRC, a healthcare resesarch firm hired by hospitals and healthcare systems to conduct surveys on their behalf about healthcare in the area. Seems to me they're just trying to do some good. I did the survey which I normally never do, but then again I complain about healthcare a lot and it's a subject that's close to my heart.

I think I know one place they're getting numbers.  I submitted my cell phone (which I normally never give out) while filling out an online job application.  Sure enough, next day I started getting the calls...

I just got a call and it was listed as Professional Re...on the caller ID - Thanks for the advance notice so I do not answer a call that I definitely DON't WANT.  I get enough of them now since I recently moved and have to get my new phone number on the do not call list again.

This is a legitimate medical survey company. They are hired by the hospital or doctors office you go to.  Someone in the household must have had an appointment. They are following up with a patient satisfaction survery.  It is not unsolicited as they were hired by the medical office.

Been receiving these calls frequently this week. I don't answer. Comes up Professional RE. The website posted by ME on 10/11/07 has a link to opt out of their call list. They state since they are not selling anything that the  Do Not Call List does not pertain to them.

Lots of good info here  - 800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-402-715-5380

FOR EXAMPLE:
This number is actually calling in regards to medical care quality control surveys. It isn't just ER visits, it's any visit to a medical facility who utilizes these quality control research services. I get a call from them whenever I visit my specialist at the Vanderbilt Clinic. It's just a few simple questions regarding your opinion on the quality of service you received. Things like whether or not you felt the doctor was actually interested in what you had to say.

I ADDED THE FOLLOWING:
Just got off the phone with them.  Verified they can't leave info about who they are b/c of recent HIPAA laws - they need to ensure they are contacting the patient.

My questions regarded the quality of care only during the ICU portion of my 5 day hospital stay.  The caller spent 40 minutes on the phone with me documenting the reasons behind my responses.  The questions can be answered with a simple excellent- very good - good - fair OR poor and take very little of your time.

I had some important issues arise during my hospital stay and was very glad to speak about them to someone who would use the information to improve the quality of care for others.

More info at http://whocalled.us/lookup/4027155380
1. They can't leave a message, probably because of HIPAA guidelines.
2. When dealing with children, they can't tell you who their doctor or care group is, you have to give it to them. They have the information right there in front of them, but to keep it from getting into someone else's hands, they're not supposed to even hint at it. This is also because of HIPAA guidelines.
3. The survey length and choice of questions is always the hospital's or client's decision to make. The people working the floor don't like making long calls either... it's not like they enjoy talking with frustrated and uncooperative people. As far as I know, the company itself that's doing the calling doesn't have any input on the survey they're giving aside from the introduction and ending.
4. The "Do Not Call" list doesn't apply to them. They don't sell anything.
5. If they ask for you by name, they got your number from the hospital or doctor's office you go to or work for. If not, the people working the phones really don't know either, so they'll just give you a stock answer on how it was randomly selected. Believe what you will.
