This phone number called me 5 times in about 15 minutes yesterday. Really pissed me off. After the first call, I did a look up on google, which I pretty much always do for random, unknown numbers from out of state. Glad I didn't ever answer it. I went straight into my Verizon account & blocked it right away. Regardless of who they are, that's borderline harassment. No legitimate company is going to call you in this way, either. I am 95% sure it's a scammer, along with all the people who have posted comments on this number saying it's legit. Well they can go die in a fire. B*****ds.

This number showed up on my caller ID.  I have an app on my cell phone called Who Are You.  It is showing that this number belongs to PayPal, Inc in Omaha, NE.  It also has a pic of a person.  Not real sure if this person is male or female.  Hard to tell from the pic.

I made an impulse purchase on eBay and paid for it by credit card through PayPal. They were calling for authorization because the purchase was out of the ordinary for me. The notes on this site were helpful because I don't answer calls from phone numbers I can't identify. They obviously aren't going to leave a message so I am glad that I found out it was them and answered the third time they called. It was an automated call that was verifying I made the purchase before they would clear the payment.  So, if you recently made a purchase and paid for it through your PayPal account make sure you answer that call!

for my german friends (in german):  Hallo Freunde,
Die Nummer ist völlig seriös. Wer abends seine Kundendaten bei

I believe this phone number could be legit, but it is definitely also associated with unauthorized charges.  When receiving phone calls from strange/unknown numbers ALWAYS refrain from giving out personal info, and call back the company on a main line associated with the company in question, to verify why you are being contacted.  In my case I received no phone call.  Somehow my cc info was obtained and my account was charged $635 via paypal with the 402-935-7733 number in the transaction info.  Contacted Paypal and was told they would refund my bank account.  Here's the problem,  for many people, paypal charges like this can be legit.  But there are low life's out there that pull this crap.  I haven't done any business in the recent past that should charge through paypal, especially for this amount.  Good reminder to check your bank activity often and act quickly to keep from becoming a victim.

The same thing is happening to me. It's a scam. The link it takes you to doesn't even allow you to click other links on the page it's all fake. Just keep junking the emails even though I keep recieving them from different comcast addresses with the same scam, different money amount. Quite annoying.

I didn't receive a call, but I received an email referencing my PayPal Debit MasterCard that I had used.  They wanted me to verify - by responding to the email, that the charge was good.  And if I didn't respond, the charge would be verified and go through.  Thing is, I DO NOT have a Debit Card!!!  And I've never heard of Speedyshare Inc.

If that is "indeed you phone number" and not a "scam number", I am VERY curious to know how everyone seems to be getting charged without having purchased anything. I don't even have a Paypal account! So when I Google the number and this forum comes up with all the same complaints...well, it's kind of obvious there's a problem dude.

A Freakonomics podcast earlier this year said you're dead on about why the charges and interest are so high.  I think they estimated CC fraud at 3% of the US economy.

XXXX VISA PURCHASE PAYPAL *ALEKSANDERS 402-935-7733 ,CA Complete -$ 261.20

This transaction caused US Bank to shut down my card on 4/25/14.  When I talked to the fraud prevention guy, he made it sound like he was going to block the 261.20 transaction.  Six days later I discover that US Bank let the transaction go through.

Talked to the PayPal folks at the number listed on the transaction (402-935-7733).  Was that a mistake to not directly look their number up?  Anyhoo, guy said they would look into it and I should see a credit on my account soon.  Feels like this isn't the end of this.

Just got my visa statement today and there is a charge on there from paypal * Rebelsrule 402-935-7733 Ca.  The charge is only for $6.50 but I certainly did not make it.  I have used PayPal only once in my life and that was about 2 years ago.  Anybody know what is going on here?  I guess I should be happy with such a small amount.

These guys are selling stolen merchandise on Ebay.  They are buying from merchant's using stolen credit card numbers and having those stores ship to people who purchase from them on Ebay at fire sale prices.  They are not legit.  And the comments above coming from so-called Paypal Informed also do not appear to be legit.

If you purchase from them on Ebay, you may be in possession of stolen goods.  They are counting on people not looking at their credit card statements to pay for it all.  I wonder if you buy from them if you could be compromising your credit card information as well?
