Maybe I'm too skeptical, but I'd personally be quite cautious about calling back, and trusting that my number would be removed. == Anybody know if this number's actually in the United States, or if it's offshore, somewhere?

MIRA 2011-06-06 20:47:23 Unknown
Yeah they just called me and i answered the phone, said it was some kind of survey and after you done answering some questions they promise you to give to boarding passes to Bahams cruise, BUT when you are done answering the questions they just hang up on you... and when you try to call back they offer you to take your number off their calling list. Some marketing...

Bought the neatest phone a while back. If you choose to block numbers from 402 982 0507 enter it into your blocked calls and the next time they call the phone will ring once and they get a busy signal from then till they hangup, works with any number you enter. It is $100.00 Panasonic, Love it!!!

No message left on answering machine.
They called me so often, like 3 or 4 times a week. I never answer and let the machine do its duty as assigned.
Noname 2011-06-06 20:47:23 Unknown
Don't answer. All they want you to do is return the call. Then they know your number is a working one. Expect telemarketing, plus harassing calls. Never call back on this type call.
It is the same method used by E-mail telemarketers. A robot creates sequential addresses. then calls them all. If you respond, they have you hooked. They ask you to "click here to be removed". To do so verifies your address and you are on their list.
Sarah 2011-06-06 20:47:23 Unknown
I answered and it was a recording wanting you to take a short survey and then you would win a cruise to the Bahamas.

F***ing spammer

LOTS of calls from "Esta Sol". I think they're all from this same number. We screen calls and haven't answered; so, we haven't been bothered by the fog horn. Just the annoying calls, with NO messages left on the recorder.

Call came in to my cell phone, I did not answer. I then called it back and got a message that did not indicate who they were, but it did say to press 1 to be removed from the marketing list and that it would take 72 hours to be removed. I pressed 1. Will see if they call back after 72 hours. Since the referenced a marketing list, very doubtful it is some legitimate survey. More than likely it's a telemarketer.
SUGGESTION: Call it back and follow the instructions for being removed, instrucitons told me to press 1 to be removed. Then if they call back after the period they say it will take to get you removed. File a formal complaint by filling out the complaint form on the FCC's web site.

They just called me too. They left a voicemail but it only caught the end of it. It was a steel drum playing and sounded like a cruise ship or something, then the words "Don't miss the boat, press 1 now.". Says it was from a company called "Survey RC". Didn't sound like a survey though, probably trying to sell vacations or something.

why oh why must we tolerate these types of calls when we are on the do not call registry? It's bad enough that we place ourselves on the lists and still get the calls from the local politicos, charities, poll takes, etc who are EXACTLY the folks we are trying to protect ourselves from!!
Mr. Montes 2010-10-12 18:31:51 Telemarketer
It's a telemarketing company in California calling on behalf of the National Small Business Alliance (NSBA). The telemarketer uses Citistream Communications in Omaha for caller ID, which is why there is a (402) Nebraska area code. Citistream at (402) 982-0200 confirmed that the telemarketing company is a customer of theirs. The telemarketing company has a "complaint line" at (800) 308-6383 which is also being used for websites like tollfreezone.com, dominionsales.com, dominionparties.com, findmyyatch.com and tollfreetexting.com, and Michael Montes is listed as the president, address is 26961 Via La Mirada #100, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675 which is a residential address (Google it). Mr. Montes has Calif. broker license #01016135. So, there you have it...I recommend if you are being annoyed by calls, call (800) 308-6383. Or, tweet Mr. Montes through his Twitter account http://twitter.com/michaeljmontes. Or, call Mr. Montes at his office at (949) 683-0498. You can have a look at Mr. Montes at http://www.dominionparties.com/aboutus.html. Call often :)

File a compliant to the FCC so if enough people complain the FCC will have to do something about it
deb 2010-10-12 16:55:14 Telemarketer
these are telemarketers from HLA. They want you to answer 10 survey questions and the they will issue you a free cruise voucher to the Bahamas. I personally think its BS...I mean who is going to go on a cruise to the Bahamas alone, and secondly nothing is free in this economy. Its all business!
Strngr1 2010-10-12 16:52:34 Unknown
If you had called someone who has caller ID and they work for telemarketing companies, then it is possible they got it this way. Did you put it in the Do Not Call List? They also stole and exploited the number from the list, unless proven otherwise. We as consumers have to figure out a way to stop those telemarketing companies from this kind of exploitations.
