recieved a call at 3:12pm with a woman's voice recording "Your not who I'm looking for" and then a spontaneous disconnect. What a goofy way to get your kicks...

You should hold your judgment, and stop calling people names.  I have hundreds of relatives in the 402 area code.  I answered because I assumed it was a relative.  There is nothing wrong with answering one's own phone!

I was called by 402 982-0873 a few minutes ago.  It was a very bad connection but the caller spoke "mid-western, american, english" and offered me a free security system from their company if I would place a sign in my yard.  They asked me to say my first and last name and then hung up when I told them I was uncomfortable with their call.  Very creepy.

I recieved this morning a phone call from this number (28 Tuesday 2010 September). I did not asnwer it. I checked the number on internet and I found this page with this very helpful information. Almost 15 minutes later I recieved another call from 312-962-2790. In this occasion I answered it, and it was a robot. :(

Got a machine recording of a sales pitch for some kind of home mortgage service.

I always answer; In case at the end there's a way to get the moth******ers to stop calling? Never happens. >.<

Got this number, didnt answer, called back and got taken off their calling list.

Got the same call on my cell.  I don't have my voice mail set up so that people don't waste the minutes on my prepaid cell. I live in WI so this call is not state specific.  If you want to decrease or eliminate these types of calls you can call the Federal Trade Commission's Do Not Call Registry.  However, you do have to call from the phone(s) you want put on the list.  The ph# is 888-382-1222.  Good luck!

I just got the call on my cell. I also don't answer calls I don't recognize., Caller ID said 402-982-0830. I didnt answer, I assume it went to my vm. It was weird, never got a 402 area call, so I googled and got this site.

same number just called me too...didnt answer so it went to my voicemail...some guys saying about me making a minimum payment to a particular card...gave me 1800-676-9314 number to call back...NO WAY JOSE!

Got a call from this number today. They said, "Oh hi," and then that was it. I believe it to be a phishing call looking for valid cell numbers. There was no caller id.

Call the number back, and you will get a recording that says to press 1 to be placed on their do not call list.  Most telemarketers have this feature now.

Got call 6/30/09 at 5:55pm CDT on my cell phone with the same recorded woman's voice saying "Sorry to bother you" and hung up.  I thought it was weird because the area code was from eastern Nebraska and I grew up in Omaha (now live in Chicago area) so at first I thought it was someone I would know.  Called the number back from work and a recording gave an option to press 1 to not receive offers.  This is clearly a scam to find legitimate phone numbers.  By my answering (or even if I didn't and it went to my voicemail) they now know this is an active phone number.  Just like email spam.

I receive this call every single day on my phone.  I just don't answer it.  I am glad I looked to see if anyone else is getting this phone call.

I got it too"Sorry my mistake". I called it back and got a recording that said "Thank you for calling back, if you would like to be placed on our do not call list and no longer recieve marketing calls please press 1.  It may take up to 72 hours to removed from our list."  I pressed 1.

Got same call.  Said "I'm sorry.  Wrong number" or something like that.  Hung up.  It was a machine.  I feel like my number was being "tested."  Came from call listed as "private suite."

yah we also received a call from this private suite in the caller id around 6pm..weird!!!

Same today at 4:48 received a call that said sorry my mistake and hung up.
