This is a bogus number - my family doesn't apply for free trips.

I waited to see if anything else would happen and stayed on the line without pressing buttons, the call just hung up.

Eh, whatever.

Got the same call on my cell, but I'm in Houston. I may call back on my home phone. Sometimes people can steal your phone minutes off your cell and stuff. But I don't think it's for real. I always wondered how on earth would I know when I do fill out those contest entries, when and if I win, are they for real??? lol

I just got the same phone message  from JKA described by the others.  A family member entered our number and we've won two free tickets, yada, yada, yada.   Have 48 hours to claim my "prize".    I'm in central NJ and thought I already was on the no-call list with my cell phone -- but now will make sure I'm on there!

I'm Morris County, NJ - My cell number is currently on verizon but was originally on sprint, in case that helps/matters to anyone looking into this.

I just received the same call at 10:36 AM on my cell phone. I let it go to voicemail and got a message saying I had won two tickets for a drawing that one of my "family members" had entered.

This is ridiculous!

I'm also in northern NJ and just got a phone call. I pressed the numbers and went all the way through, same thing as everyone else but they actually did mention a city in northern NJ where the "Reception" was being held and where we could "pick up our tickets." At the end you were supposed to leave your name and phone number so they could call you back, but I hung up at that point. Sounds fishy for sure. I looked up the address they claimed you were supposed to go to, there is a law firm and financial firm there.

I dont like these things but a free trip in this economy sounded real nice to me. the presentation I went to was laughable merly but I walked out with a gift cert for a trip that i got to pay taxes on only. i guess its not bad for my time.

I'm in Northern NJ and just got the message, too. I did a Google search for the phone number 877-209-3600 and was led to this forum.

I've read through the messages and wanted to add a comment to help build the case that they seem to be targeting this area.

I did not call the number back nor do I have any plans to do so, although I was told that "a family member" entered some drawing and we won (my family members would NEVER give out my cell phone number).

All I can say is that if it looks like a scam, sounds like a scam, and smells like a scam...it's probably a scam.

402-982-0855 & 562-289-8137 & 240-699-8950 & 800-277-2515 same spammer!  I just got the same call to my cell phone.  402-982-0855.  My cell phone number is very private.  I don't do business on it.  I only use it for touching base with local family.  They did not get my number from my family nor friends.  I called Verizon to ask how the spammer got my private cell phone number.  Verizon claims ignorance.  Funny how Verizon will profit from this scam though.  They get to charge me more money because I answered my cell phone from a spam call.  I asked Verizon if I could be credited the money for the call.  Verizon said no.  I asked if Verizon could block the phone number from calling me again.  Verizon said no.  I asked if they would be willing to submit a complaint to some appropriate agency like the FCC, the BBB, or the police.  They said no.  They told me I have to do that myself.  They recommended I post my comment here and then submit a complaint to the BBB myself.  I will.  I asked Verizon about no call lists.  They said there is a no call list for cell phones and said I can google it.  I don't know if I should go on that list with my cell phone.  That's just one more organization that has my cell number out there.  One more organization where a disgruntled employee, looking to make a buck, can sell lists from.  Did a Verizon employee sell the list?  Is Verizon leaking numbers on purpose to make more money off of spam calls?  Are they purposefully lax in their security because of the profits they will reap?  They sure were not helpful in prosecuting the culprit.

I live in Morris County in Northern NJ and I got the same scam call two days ago from JKA from 402-982-0855 and the message on my voice mail was about calling back within 48 hours to claim my two plane tickets and hotel stay. Unbelievable.  First couple of seconds of the voicemail was cut off so I didn't catch the name the lady had but I imagine it was one of the names mentioned already.

I knew it was kind of fishy fromm the elation in her voice but I decided to press 1 just to see what it was (or what they would say). I presumed that bu pressing 1 I'd get a real live operator but I but decided to hang within 5 sec. into the recording. Does anyone know if the charge you for pressing any of the optioned numbers on the keypad? Thanks. Watch out guys.

got a phone call at 7:35 3/23/10 from 402-982-0696 asking for a Mike Johnson or his wife, didn't say who they were or what it was about, just hung up when I told him, he wasn't home, it's my son, he has no wife.  We are on a do not call list, apparently that list is totally worthless just like our government in stopping these calls, I am ready to turn off my phones.  I hate these calls.
