Same thing happened to my today, what's wrong with this people !? GET A REAL JOB

Was on my business' caller ID. Called 4:36 PM on Mothers Day.

Just received a call from this number at work...like listed above no body there once I answered...scam!

THis person calls you thens yells hello hello hello .....then hangs up/ when you call him back he says on his voice mail Hi you have reached GM pure prank call

This was the second call today (the other call was from another strange number) from an "out of area" number that we did not recognize.  There was no response from the caller when answered.  
These annoying pests like this have been blasting our phone sometimes 5 or more times a day during the weekdays...now they are aggravating us on the weekends and holidays as well???  
I am beyond fed-up with this crap and I don't understand why we have to pay for our phone services as well as have to PAY SOMEONE TO NOT BE HARASSED BY THESE IDIOT PESTS!  

Same thing here. Calls and says "Oh I'm sorry. I think I have the wrong #."

SAME... wrong number and hung up.. asshat

I have a home office and this person (whoever it is) calls all hours of the day/night.  Just got another call with and when I answered they hung up.  Is this really what we pay people to do?  Is this the governments idea of "creating jobs" ?

It's totally a scam...thank god for caller ID. These idiots think they are smart. The call that came in right before it came across my caller id as "Private". I don't know about you but anything that comes up "Private" on a business line raises a red flag and never gets answered. I hit the button to send it to voicemail and immediately after that, the Omaha number came up...that call also got sent to voicemail. Must not have been important b/c they didn't leave a message and so I don't call back.

I too got this phone call today from the same phone number and exact same words from the guy as you did. Apparently this is across usa. I'm in Illinois and it was my medical office he called.

Got same call. Maybe this is a way to see if anyone is home.

Got a call from the number.  I didn't say anything and got the Sorry I have a wrong number but it was a recording.

As soon as I picked up a "man" said 'Hello?'. THE COMPUTER GENERATED VOICE said, 'Oh, I'm sorry. I think I have the wrong number.' and hung up. Fishing for someone to pick up for some reason. DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER BACK. They might be trying to charge calls to your number. It's ridiculous how "smart people" scam everyone instead of putting their knowledge to something good to help people, animals or the planet. Morons.

Dipstick called from Nebraska # 402-998-5021 - I answered thinking it was Omaha steaks because I had told them several times to leave me alone and they did once I got the message clear that the steak was good but because they hound me I won't order anymore.  Anyway, this other moron at 402-998-5021 said the same thing as you can read above that "I'm sorry I must have the wrong number".  He spoke perfect English so wasn't a limey or Indian tech person.  Seems like his mommy should have taken away his phone.  We weren't allowed to play on the phones or annoy people.  Since the Kenyan kid mesmerized the uninformed and took over the white house and made us commies the country is overrun with gays and community agitators illegals and terrorists who think nothing of getting in your face and bothering people forcing their crap sandwich on us.  I thought corn huskers were a better class than that and should boot him out of the state(s).  I chose telemarketer for call type but should have a call type named Dumb Butt or any of the other adjectives above.

I got the same call as everyone else. It's not a live human being, it's a computer. The only possible reason for the calls is to verify that the phone number is active and/or answered by a human.

I'm not sure what good reporting it to the FTC will do. There's no sales pitch.

The ultimate client(s) could be companies that make outbound calls for telemarketing and collections purposes, those companies could scrub their lists in almost real-time, saving costs associated with time wasted reaching out-of-service numbers and numbers where only voicemail or a fax tone is available.

Received a call from this number shortly before 8:00 PM tonight (Saturday). My answering machine screens all calls. The caller left no message.

a guy called and said he had the wrong number  what is he trying to do???!!

I just got a call from this #402-998-5021...I didn't answer and they (Whomever) didn't leave a message...I think I agree with "Business Owner  Omaha, NE...We all call him and say "My bad, wrong number!" then hang up." May no do any good of course, but it sure might give me a bit of satisfaction..

I never answer calls that show up like this on caller id. I just block & then come here to see whats up..

I answered and he said he thought he had the wrong number.  i said OK and hung up.  maybe he is looking for a woman to answer?

Business line call. Same junk. Caller says "hello?" --- followed by "I'm sorry, I think I have the wrong number."

Our business has received 2 calls from this number.  I answer with our company name, and a man's voice says "hello, hello, oh I have the wrong number".

Same thing a few minutes ago.  Had to double hang-up as his phone still on caller i.d.

Called my business phone at 11:30 am didn't answer...then they called again.

Leaves no message!
The voice mail provides NO information so beware this might just be spammer updating lists as to who answers their phones so he can sell the Lists to Telemarketers!
