we keep getting called even @midnight time, what the hell is going on?

Got this call 16:45 PDT, June 11, 2010. Automated voice claiming I was a valued Canadian Tire customer and I won travel money.  Pressed 1 to talk to someone, but just hung up as soon as they picked up.

Number 403-201-9988 is from Alberta, Canada but the originating number could be from anywhere

Now that VoIP is here big time, telemarketers, bill colectors and whomever can make national and international and make them appear local or national to us.

Basically, if you dont recognize the number, don't answer it. If it's someone you know and they call from a number they normally use, then their name etc. should show up on your phone.

What erks me is that I use Rogers (among several providers) and only Rogers phones put through these useless calls. Mine is a Pay As You Go, so this call would have been long distance for me!!!

For shame ROGERS!

Just called me too. I didn't answer. Judging by the comments, stay away from this one! Or call them back pretending to be an officer investigating fraud and see if you can get a confession and post it here. lol.

Didn't pick up.  No message.  Probably a scam.

Got a call stating I am a Canadian Tire customer that won 3000 travel dollars.

Scam!

403-201-9988 called and a robot voice told me I am a valued Canadian Tyre customer and that I had won 3000 "travel dollars".

I hung up obviously.

Got a call from this number stating "as a loyal Canadian Tire customer you have won 3000 travel dollars, press 1 to accept"... obviously I did not.

Received call  from 403-301-9988 - no message left - did not call back

My home received a double ring (was this perhaps on my fax line?) and when I picked it up there was a recorded message saying it was the Canadian Tire and I had won 3000$. Then they said I needed to press 1 to claim.

Telus was absolutely no help whatsoever and told me to report to phonebusters.com. I called the 1800 number and received the message, due to high call volumes we can not answer your call.

I *69'd the number and got 403-201-9988

the telcos have to start beeing better than the scammers

just called my office number, said as a Canadian Tire customer I just won... I AM NOT a Canadian Tire customer, if they call back I will press one and let them know they called a law firm.

this number just called and didn't leave message. didn't recognize number so didn't pick up. clearly this is a scammer from all the notes I've read below. Thanks for letting me know.

didn't get to phone in time, called back said "Number you dialed is not in service", so if it's not in service, how did they call me???????

They've called me 3 times now, so I pressed 1 to try to get a person on the line.  A person came on and asked me if I had a credit card.  I wasn't about to give out the number, but there's no harm in knowing I have one.  I answered, "Yeah." and they hung up.  Called the number back, got the same recorded message, and it immediately hung up after I pressed 1.

Scammers can somehow fake the caller ID and poor Mains is probably a victim too. Somebody send him a postcard?

Its a freakin automated number and says that I won money.  I didnt even bother as soon as I heard it.

Didn't anyon call Rogers? I did and they said they never heard of this. They said they would chase it down beccause their name was being used.

Call from 403.201.9988. Misses the call. When I tried calling it back it told me the number was not in service. I am in Vancouver, BC

In my opinion, it should be ILLEGAL to solicit cell numbers!!!  This is absolutley unexceptable.  Nevermind the fact that noone should be soliciting ANY phone number....
This number calls both my husband and I's cell phone on a very contant basis!!

TRIED CALLING THEM BACK  SAYS THIS NUMBER IS NOT IN SERVICE.

This number just phoned me, I let it go to voicemail as I do with all numbers I don't know. It left a blank message on my voicemail.

I got a call sept 15 from 403 201 9988 i missed it  when i called back it was no available.

Called me twice today. This offer is available to rogers customers only... I'm with telus...
