guy named Chris called from 'Auto Registry' from this number. did some research on him, turns out its a scam. wants you to pay him $150 using online banking because its "secure" he says. Saw our add on Autotrader and guaranteed that he could sell the truck in less than one week. (as long as you pay 'up front' right away.....) also wanted it ASAP because he had "a buyer who really wants a truck before Monday" DO NOT pay this sun-of-a-gun!!!! Called him back and told him off :)

I got the exact same call. I asked for more details to be sent to my e-mail before I commit to anything. This is what I received,

The cost of our service is 159.00 and how you do pay is with online banking interact email money transfer witch the billing department will guide you through or i will guide you through. You will be receiving to billing receipts one through your bank and one through us that states the week money back. Once we receive the 159.00 what i do is i notify the client i give them your name phone number and email address where they can contact you and set up a date where they can come and test drive the 2002 Ford focus and give you a certified check. If by far this doesn't happen with in a week we do refund the 159.00 with our automatic system that will automatically send the money back I give you all are company information including my name phone number email address. Please if you have anymore questions feel free to email us back or ask when one of are representatives when they give you a call back"
This is how I replied,
"Please go ahead and never contact me again. Your spelling, grammar and punctuation are atrocious. I'm guessing you never graduated High School, hence the reason you need to resort to scamming people. If I was bothered with wasting my time, I would report you to the authorities. However, Karma will deal you what you deserve. Jail time.
Hope to see you locked up with all the other scam artists and demented criminals.
Sincerely,
Not buying it."

Ashley just called me and stated just what you have described. I told her to call back tomorrow so I could check them out first. Now I know what's going on and I'm not going to bite. What made me suspicious was the fact that after a few days from my AD I have decided that my asking price is probably too high and she was telling me that this is a very good price!

Bingo on Chris - claims he's local; I ain't buying it. Now it's sold in 10 days or your money back. Told him I was checking them out on line and would call him back. His voicemail isn't even set up. Stay away a long way.

Got the same call, I told them I would pay by credit card as then I could be gauranteed to get my money back. They don't take it, so I told them I was not interested and they hing up instantly without any goodbye. It was Ashley.

Recieved a call from Chris as well. Offered to find a buyer for my used car at the asking price. $150 finders fee to be paid up front (by me). Will have a buyer for me in 3 days. They deal in high credit risk cases. Find them a good car and finance it. No title transfer until the buyers money clears. Too good to be true? Looks quite similar to "Great Cars and Trucks" listed on ripoffreport.com
Why doesn't Chris buy the car and keep the $150 as he's financing it anyway. Chris found my vehicle ad on Trader.ca to make contact. Has ads listed on Kijiji looking for certain types of vehicles. Don't respond!
