I have receive afew phone calls from this number - one call was at 3:00 AM.  Needless to say, I was upset.

It sounds like people are laughing in the background and then they hang up.  The laughs are very faint but nontheless very annoying.
Does anyone know how to get rid of all these marketing calls asking for money?  I am tired of them and tired of them intrupting my dinner hour.

These b*****ds have been f'n with me for 3 months. Finally answered, some bullsh!t for the blind. Do not get me wrong. I give, but only to organizations that don't run 95% admin bullsh!t fees. I called back, there is a option to put thyself off of list, did that, 5 minutes later the f'ers called again. told him i opted out, he says that will take 3 plus days. Asked him for his number, t**t tried to give me a 800 num, told him no, i want HIS num, asks why, i says you got mine why the f i can't have yurs so i can hassle you four times a day like he is me. Got a bs story and a sorry and it hung up. POS like all useless scabs that can't get a real job, for whatever personal reason.. ie fn BRAINFNDEAD! Don't get me wrong. I give, just not to c-suckers that take my donation and use 95% fur admin s***, lets face it this pos is getting paid somehow. I am a member of LCI, they have no admin bs fees, and they do not solicite over the phone EVER! LCI has done and will do more for the blind than this t**t will ever. As you can tell iM pissed. These jackoffs have been hassling me for 3 months now, usually 2 times a day. Lions Club International has been providing guide dogs for the blind here for many years, in saskatchewan that is their thing. It takes over 5g to train a dog for the blind. LCI does this, and they don't phone solicite. And if you need a guide dog, they GIVE it to you! aND DON'T CALL YUR A*** TILL YOU DIE LOOKING FUR MORE CASH! LCI is smart, they have enuff in the bank to cover admin from interest, everything above is fully to the cause. LCI is run mostly by people that are retired, and get paid ZERO to help with everything, specialy to help new members get started. I am on national do not call list, fn joke, now they know my num. I still want the num of fhead that haS BEEN PHONING ME LAST THREE MONTHS, fair is fair, my turn to f his day for a few months. ALL telemarketers are wannabee trannys that have no mother and can't get a real job. End rant,.... I guess

Got a call from this number.  It was a man saying he was from something that had to do with people who are blind and he was raising money for voice recognition computers for blind kids.  I told him I could not give at this time, etc.  He wouldn't take no for an answer and at one point interrupted me and told me to be quiet so he could finish what he had to say.  While he was speaking I told him I was going to hang up - there wasn't even a pause in his sentence - and I hung up.  I was very angry.  I will no longer give to charities over the phone.  This person seemed very aggressive for a charity.  I asked how he got my number and he said the listed phone numbers which is interesting because my name is not listed with my phone number.

called but did not answer have been recieving calls for a while but dont no who it is. also on do not call list and is sick of this still happening

We sign-on for the no call list and we are still receiving unwanted call.
Need to know who is calling so they can be reported to the CRTC.

I advise against giving $$$ over the phone to a stranger "charity" that calls you. You're only rewarding their behavior and it's hard to tell if they're real or scam. The better thing to do is to get their name, then look up independent sources for their contact info, contact them using this independent source info (and not the contact info the stranger gave you over the phone) and give to them then because you know for sure they are the legit charity you want to give to. Another problem is 3rd-party fund-raising companies that claim to collect donations for charities but give only a small fraction of donations to the charities themselves so it's best to give directly to charities, never to strangers who call you.

Same thing I recieved a call twice a day for the past couple of days from the following number
(403)770-7897 and no message... a week or two before that it was some other kind of charity! ..But the question is... Is this "legit"

They've been calling at around 11:00am. Not leaving a message either.

This number calls at all hours of the day. And it's everyday at least twice. They've called here eight at night and never leave a message. I don't answer their calls because I don't know who it is and it's a little weird they don't leave any message. I find it fishy.

are there kids that called you because it sounded like a prank call from girls.

The company was not Canadian Institute for the Blind but the Canadian Council for the Blind or something like that.  The guy was really pushie and when I said I could not support at this time he continued to push and laid a guilt trip on me.  I tried calling the number back as it is local but there was a busy signal.

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind is a registered charity with Canada Revenue.  It's based in Toronto and the website for the charity is http://www.cnib.ca/.  The question is whether the caller was actually from CNIB or not. Minimum donation of $250?  I agree that sounds fishy.

With a minimum donation of $250 I might add.  Who has that these days, sounds fishy to me.  Has anyone asked for their Charitable status number?  Might be a good idea to do so.
