never left message but has called several times

Recorded message claiming to be from Air Miles. Dumb coming through as an Alberta number, any service like that would come through as a 1800 or 1888 number. Then you can barely hear the scam artist on the other end of the phone. SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOO obviously people running a scam!

If you hit the * button fast about 20 times..it kicks your number out of their list. This trick works for robo calls and even telemarketers.Hope this helps (-:

automated calls are coming to every number at my work (Vancouver, BC), I pressed "1" to speak to someone, when I said remove this number from your list, he just hung up. very annoying, its been going on for the last 2 weeks.

403-986-2586 was a missed call on my cell; when I googled the number I was directed to this website.

Received a call from this number, automated message saying, "Because you are a special WestJet customer, you will receive a special prize. Press 1 now to claim your prize."

I just received a call from this number claiming to be from Expedia and press 1 to claim my prize. when I pressed 1 I  got transferred to someone asking if I was over 25. i then hung up

I work for a major phone company in Canada and I will pass on a little secret. The phone companies Bell Telus, Rogers, MTS etc are all in on the scam with the telemarketers. They make money by selling services to the telemarketers. When the telemarketers start their campaign the phone company sees what is called a "mass calling event" coming from 403-986-2586 in this case. the phone company techs will sometimes even put a choke on the number that blocks perhaps 1 in 20 or 1 in 100 calls so that it limits the amount of calls coming into their network. If they didn't do this then the calls from the telemarketer can overwhelm the network and take a toll on the DMS-500 switch and even cause it to fail regular traffic.

So the phone company knows exactly what number is a telemarketer. If they want they can easily put a 1 in 5 block or block the number completely, but hey choose not too. Now if the CRTC had any balls, they would force them to block these numbers. Unfortunately the CRTC is in bed with the phone companies.

Unsolicited call to my cell phone, of which the number I have NEVER given to any company or organization. No message left.

Didn't even tell me which company he was calling from, I told him I wanted the best "free" deal. He told me I was a loser and wasn't able to win anything.

called, I didn't answer, no message. I get dozens of these calls EVERYDAY!!

Just called 3 hours ago on my cell phone advising that I press 1 to collect 2500 airmiles...just hung up and will contact Airmiles tomorrow

crazy how many people have replied here.  Just had this number dial my cell phone (bell), never answered it, and for some reason decided to look it up online.   Wonder if we should be reporting this kind of stuff?

got a robo call offering a free prize to a preferred customer from Telus press 1, press and got several musical tones then the call went dead I reported to Telus, 2 min later and was informed that it was a scam

called my cellphone while I was away from it.  Left no message.

People,never ever return a call to an unknown number.Why?You could be liabel to pay an outrageous fee (like $2,500.a minute)for making the call,and your server has no choice but to charge you because you voluntarily made the call!

They just phoned me a few minutes ago. They said that as a Rogers customer I qualified for a free gift, press 1. So I did, then a woman came on the line and said I'd won a free trip. She had to verify that I was over the age of 35 and did I have a valid credit card? I said yes to both. She transfered me to a man who said very quickly where he was from (Global something or other, he spoke really fast) and asked for my name. I said I didn't understand why he was phoning me to award me with a free trip if he didn't even know my name and he hung up instantly. Seems like a big old scam to me!

Called saying i won a prize as a valued Rogers customer. Pressed 1.  Woman with thick accent started talking.  I told her i could not understand her.  She hung up.

So you all know, the "do not call list" only applies to Canadian companies. Political questionnaires/polls and most charities are exempt as well as many other types as a first call. Some good American companies also respect the list but they don't have to.
And at the top of the list...
Why would a scammer follow the do not call list? lol What they are doing is already illegal, why would they care about a list.
PS: Did you know the do not call list expires? You have to re-add your number every 5 years.

Receive this mystery call too and did not answer. I look it up and it brought me here. Thanks all for your posts.

Couple calls on my cell now from this number robo voice, says thank you for using Telus, press 1 now. Called Telus, they know nothing of who this is. have now blocked this number, they'll get voice mail every time. Bet they don't leave a message. :)

They called my cell didn't leave message.  When I call back my calls fail.   Hmmmmm
