Received a call from this number this afternoon at my business. Same conversation as the other caller reported. They asked if this was my business and if we took American Express, I said yes and then they hung up on me when I asked them who they were.

Received a call with the same conversation as the other two but the man added that his wife needed investment advice for her parents - when I tried to verify the number in case we were diconnected when I transferred the call we were suddenly "disconnected".  The call sounded as if it were a cell phone as the sound was breaking up.

Similar conversation.   Stay away from these people.  They are CROOKS

I received a call from a man who was very rude because he couldn't hear me very well...and asked if I took American Express I told him no I was a business to business vendor then he asked if I took Visa I told him the same...he then said goodbye..I noticed he was calling from Atlanta, I have severla customers in the area, but he was none of them...

recibed the same call today and a few days ago, an other one..I'm at Spain, the caller phone number isn't even from spain!!

I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize but this number was on my caller ID this morning.  My problem is understanding how they get the phone company to cooperate with them.  I did a reverse search and it says "Land Line Atlanta, GA"....the carrier should be listed so we can call the phone company to report this bozo.

my experience is the same as above. 'do you take american express?' answer is yes. he hung up. note: accent is farsi i believe. 1018am pacific time on monday nov16

Caller, definitely from overseas, asked if we used credit cards or just checks and cash. I asked her to repeat the question and then asked who was calling. She hung up. She seemed a bit confused about what she was asking and who she was talking to. I wouldn't have answered her questions either way. This sounds really suspicious, or at the very least, poorly planned.

Got call from female with heavy Spanish accent who wanted to know if this was a business and if we took American Express.  This was at 2:06 PM Eastern 11/17/09. Caller hung up.

Received call this morning 11/24 at 1145.  He asked if I took credit cards.  I told him no and he hung up.  He did have an accent and it could have been Farsi like someone else had mentioned.

Call received from a male caller at 12:10 p.m. today.  (10/28/09)  Caller asked if we were a specific business, response was yes.  Caller then asked if we took American Express.  Response was yes.  Caller was asked who he was with and caller then hung up.
We do not do business with anyone in Georgia and are a company based out of Texas.

Same as everyone else. Lady with a heavy accent asked if we took Amex. The first time she asked I could not understand her so she had to repeat the question. I told her 'yes' and she promptly hung up. ??? Weird...

Just got a call from 404-222-6918..asked if I took American Express and hung up..does anyone know what this is all about.

Overseas caller asked if we use credit cards or did we just operate with checks, etc. (Weird question!) Asked them to repeat it, then who they were. They pretended confusion and hung up.

Woman with a "Spanish-sounding" accent called and asked to verify my company name and if we take Amex.  I said yes, and asked what she was interested in buying.  She quickly said that was all she needed to know and hung up.  Sound quality of the call was very poor and there was a lot of backround noise, like she was calling from a boiler room or airport.  Not sure what the scam is, as we have no products that can be resold or fenced.

Got a call 404-222-6918. Nigerian/African accent. Asked if I took AMEX/Credit cards. Said why?. Caller hung up. Lots of background noise...possibly an airport or bus terminal. I am familiar with these scams...watch out!

Received call from a person who asked if I accepted Credit Card and wanted to sell something. When I asked for their names they would not give it.

Ditto on this...caller id showed "NA"....male with foreign accent. I asked if I could take message and he left the name Mario Arce, but would not leave number, said he would call back.

Same as above. wanted to know if I took amer express, yes,  then he said he wanted naked photos of himself. I told hem to call his mother. This time he hung up :)

I just got the call a few minutes ago and theline went dead as soon as I said hello.  This is a private residence not a business, so I don't know why I got the call.  And I DON'T take AMEX.  lol

Caller asked if I took AMEX?  I told him he had the wrong number.
Curiously, the same person called a few weeks ago with the same question?

This guy calls or texts repeatedly.  When you confront him, he claims not to speak or understand English.  He has an authentic sounding Hispanic dialect.  He continues to make pranks and it has been months.  He often claims to be a secret lover.

I didn't answer this call because I didn't recognize the number but I blocked my number and called back to see if they identified themselves upon answering.  The only thing I could get was that all circuits are busy.

Just got the same call 11-10-09 4:20PM  Same as all of the above.  Asked if we take AMEX.  I said Yes and he hung up.  WTF is this ?????

Called in at 11:53 am, same as most above, heavy spanish accent, male asking if we take AMEX.  After struggling to understand I apologized and hung up.  What kind of scam could this one be?
