CONSUMERS---BEWARE!  embintelligencecom 4072870562 or any variation thereof is a RIP-OFF!!!
I received my Chase Credit Card Account statement today (Dec. 19, 2007) and there is a one-time $4.95 charge for "embintelligencecom 404 2870562". At first I thought it was a legitimate charge for Embarq Phone Service, my residential phone service provider, but realized I would not have charged anything with them. The Rep at Chase said it was for a bookstore, perhaps an on-line bookstore or I may have made a small, insignificant purchase at a retail bookstore. I do NOT shop on-line, and I had no receipt for any insignificant purchase at any store. Chase transferred me to their fraud unit, removed the charge, and is closing out my account and opening a new one. Watch your statements closely and contact the fraud unit of your bank/credit card/debit card company if you see a charge for "EMBINTELLIGENCECOM".

Also, the domain name registration for embintelligence is listed as being owned by a Barbara Frye of New Jersey.

FYI -- I looked up area code 404 and it's Atlanta, Georgia.

Me, too.  I had an unauthorized charge for 6.95 on Dec 14 2007.  I called the phone number and got an answering service, same as most of the other posts.

Beaware People. I dont think it's caused only by the Equifax. I havent bought equifax credit report for almost a year. However, I do have True Credit MOnitoring System, and I believe this is from Transunion. I dont have other credit monitoring system other than Transunion.

So Transunion customers, be aware!

I got charged 2.95 for EMBINTELLIGENCE.COM purchase which I have no freakin idea of. What is worse, my account was overdrafted which gave me another 20 Dollars in Overdraft NSF Charge. THOSE B*****DS!!!! THEY COST ME $22.95!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !  !

I just got a charge from embintelligence.com as well.  Called the number, and it just went to an answering machine with a heavy accent.

I just canceled my credit card.

I have also recived a charge from this company. Funny thing is I work at the bank so they have messed with the wrong chick!

Statistically speaking, from the same public common denominator, personal use ?there is only one conclusion - Equifax is a culprit in providing or disseminating Credit Card numbers that are being used in fraudulent authorizations and charges.
I caught the charge of $2.95 from EMBINTELLIGENCE.COM MARIETTA GA. This charge appeared not too long after paying for Credit Monitoring service from Equifax.
Their explanation that this correlation is simply due to overwhelming use of their services is not logical in light of this peculiarity.
I will be contacting an attorney to instigate a Class Action Suite review.

Damn me too!! I didn't order anything and I have Bank of America as well. I think BOA has been hit with a security breach.

Has anyone found anything else? I am contacting yahoo and a few of my other tech sources I'll be posting more info as soon as I find some.If it has anything to do with Embintelligence.com scamming I will have them shutdown!

I too received this charge on my debit card.  last week I called their number 20 times on Tuesday, and 17 on Wednesday.  I NEVER received an answer.  I frantically emailed them several times and finally got an answer.  I have no clue who this company is.

I also have a checkcard charge on my B of A account that was processed on 12/1 and settled on 12/3 in the amount of $4.95. The I contacted the bank this morning to dispute the charge, and of course I have to cancel the debit card and wait 5-7 days for a new one. I'd like to know how they got my information since the card very rarely leaves my sight, and is still in my possession. I also RARELY buy anything on line and have NEVER downloaded an E-Book which embintelligence.com says they do.

I noticed a charge on my bank account and found that my debit card # had been used to purchase a book online. I immediately contacted the phone # listed and spoke with a woman who sounded as if she was basically sitting in her home conducting an alleged business (embintelligence). I will be reporting this to the BBB. My name, debit card #, address, and card security code was used to allegedly purchase something from this supposed company and that warrants signficant concern. The woman alleged that someone with a yahoo email address is the one who made the purchase (kafcam57@yahoo.com). I immediately deactivated my debit card after this.

I have received an charge to my credit card account for embintellegence.  This is a card that I never use and only keep for emergencies.  I called the phone provided by the credit card company, but only got an answering machine.

I have a charge on my bank account and have no idea who these people are or how they got my account info.
