I just received a call from these guys moments ago and the message was talking about a seminar they are having in my area offering programs to help home owners like me reduce the interest rate on my home loan, which struck me as odd since my home has been paid for 30+ years now. To call me out the blue is the same thing telemarketers and scammers do, so I am putting them in that category regardless if they are legit or not. If they are as legit as some of you as stated on this board, then why are they calling me offering assistance on a mortgage I do not have? Why not target those that they can help? This was the first call I received from these idiots, and it is my last because they have been blocked!

I reported to the FCC today about this number. I don't know what software they're using, but it tied up my phone when I tried to hang up on it (twice, no less!) and that irritates me NO END--who do they think they are??  This unnecessary pseudo mortgage idiocy (yes, my house is paid off) left 2 messages, too. UGH. Go online or call the FCC at 888-382-1222 and register your complaint against these unethical, illegal robocalls.

I am too old too receive these calls dail. I think these call should go to the attorney general.

I have never heard of NACA or signed up for any information from them and I'm on the DNC list (for what it's worth). Considering the leave a 2 minute recorded voice mail, they could include info on opting-out. There was no opt-out info on my recording and no info on their website. Their site is www.naca.com and I tweeted them at @NACAEvents asking how to get off the list. SO annoying!

I saw all the BBB complaints from people wanting their calls to stop and below is their canned response to each... Doesn't even include how to get off their list. Just sounds like "tough, we can call you so we are going to".

The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America is a registered 501(c) non-profit organization so THEY ARE EXEMPT FROM THE DO NOT CALL LIST. Did you bother to read any of the specifics of the DNC  Registry when you signed up? Apparently not.

Received a call from these folks, who apparently even have BAD LISTS!!  Happen to live in a PAID FOR HOUSE, and they want to help 'with a mortgage'!!!!????  So much for our government's NO CALL LIST!  It works as well as OBAMACARE!

Unsolicited call violating Do Not Call list

Got a call from this number this morning, it was a recording by a person calling himself Bruce Marks.  Bruce Marks' (CEO of the company originating these calls and the voice on the call) personal cell phone number is  (617) 835-4477.  Call him and let him know how much you appreciate these unsolicited calls that are in violation of the DoNotCall list and FCC guidelines.

Yes a confusing thread with deceptive and unfair business practices / tactics. No professional and ethical business uses telemarketers. Harassing and abusive telemarketing practices should be reported to all state and federal consumer protection agencies. Interesting when you read some entries at the beginning of this list of responses.  A couple of real glowing responses that seem paint them as saints.

I would bet anything those responses came from NACA lackeys trying to discredit all the complaints.  
As someone said - check the BBB and other sites for complaints.

Bobby,  I'm sure you mean well, but you are mistaken.  My house is paid for yet I received a call from these folks.  So, saying they only call people who can use their service is a bunch of "BS".

I put these "Telespammers" in the same category as "Rachel" who says she can lower my interest rates on my credit cards.  The funny thing is, I pay my credit card off each month so the interest rate doesn't matter because I don't have an outstanding balance.

Left message on recorder stating that they could lower your mortgage.   DON'T HANG UP--------same scammers just coming through on a different number in just another State, GA.    I GUESS they will forever try to find someone to SCAM.     NOT FALLING FOR IT.

BEFORE DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY YOU ALL SHOULD LOOK AT THE BBB SITE, THERE IS A WARNING ABOUT DEALING WITH THIS ENTITY.  IN THE PAST THIRTY DAYS NACA HAS BEEN REVEIWED 177 TIMES DUE TO COMPLAINTS. THEY APPLIED FOR NON-PROFIT STATUS AND THE BBB SAYS THEY AREN'T ELIGIBLE FOR CHARITY STATUS.  ALSO, NONE OF THE ADDRESSES LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE MATCH UP TO WHAT THE BBB HAS FOR THEM.

The address they have listed for their Georgia office is non-exsistent (it's a dental office) I didn't check any of the other addresses listed on THEIR website, just the one they're calling from

NACA is semi-legit.  They seem to think they do not have to comply with federal laws though, especially since the sitting president is friendly with them.  I tried to deal with NACA before and they are very racially and socially driven as well as being very willing to lie to you.  I almost filed fraud charges against them due to how they handled my mortgage application.  If you are from a certain racial and socio-economic class you may have better results as anyone outside of that they treat like crap.  

FCC complaint filed.

These people have called before but today is Saturday and they called quite early.  I called back, their office is closed - how about that - and left a message to not call my number again.  We shall see.......

Damn,  I can't believe how I screwed up.  Like an idiot, I bought a house I could afford worked hard and payed it off.  If I had really been smart I would have bought a house I couldn't afford and now I could have these folks use taxpayer money to help me take care of my mortgage.  

Funny,  with this this lousy economy no one seems interested in helping me cover the lost value of my house.
