I work in a hospital and for a few years we had "Caremark" as one of our prescription choices. I loved it. I did all my prescription ordering on line. I never had to go to a pharmacy to turn in a prescription and it was delivered via usps for free. The hospital I worked for switched to Medco a couple years ago (basically the same thing just a different company). My husband loved the idea that I could get meds much cheaper than he could and I didn't have to go into CVS or any other pharmacy. He just got the same call you guys did and is so happy. Not only is he going to save money on his meds but he can get a 3 month supply and does not have to go twice to CVS - once to drop for Rx and once to pick it up. Granted this may not be for everyone, but when you are on 5 or 6 meds routinely it is a nice thing to have. He just told me that he goes more often than that because his meds are on different cycles. Yea...getting old is a B----! If it isn't one thing it is another :(

The caller ID was "CVS/Caremark." The automated message asked for my upstairs neighbor by name. (How would they have matched my neighbor's name with my number?) I checked with my neighbor, who is NOT insured on a CVS/Caremark plan.
The call-back number provided by the automated message (877-591-0787) led to anything but a human person. The robot kept asking for the seven-digit "extension" that the automated message had said to reference when calling the 877 number. In fairness, the correct "extension" worked (i.e., brought up the name of my upstairs neighbor), whereas bogus "extensions" I tried out did not work.
Then I called one of the numbers I found on the CVS Caremark Web site, 800-552-8159. The customer service rep I spoke with could not make head or tail of either my number, my neighbor's name, or the seven-digit extension. At that, I ended my "research," except that I found this site to share my experience on.

My mom has gotten up to 22 calls a day at all times of day or night. This has happened for two years straight and they blew her off every time until I threatened a law suit and federal criminal charges. Anyone interested in a class action lawsuit??

Weird that CVS/CAREMARK would even call us, we no longer get scripts there and haven't for quite some time. Get them cheaper elswhere with use of the $4. program, last I knew and we got scripts there they did not participate. Some places even offering some antibiotics for free now too.

Spammers. How to cost them money:
Dial their toll-free number as often as possible. Stay on line with them as long as possible. Be polite, and use up their telephone costs. Any 800 or 877 number is generally charged to the business on the basis of how many incoming calls they receive, and how much time is spent on those calls.
This is legal, and I think it is also totally warranted. It's certainly not going to open the consumer to any liability, because if they're going to be criminal jerks, I don't see that there's very much likelihood they'll be seeking out the authorities to inform them of the fact that you've been a NON-criminal jerk.

Received calls from this number and do not appreciate it. The news papers are supposed to publish their research on these numbers and aware the public. Media is not performing their duty.

Said it's from CVS Caremark. Hey, I called CVS (not Caremark) customer service and they agreed these calls are in poor taste and they'll contact Caremark for me

The voicemail said urgent information for processing is needed. I called the number back and it was an automated box telling me I qualify for prescriptions by mail. I will not be calling that number back.

Yes, we have received calls from this number as well --suspect it is from an affiliate of New York magazine which calls us frequently using this and a Florida phone number. They are on our do-not-call registry but still persist.
