But it called back a week after.
So I pressed the 9 key as asked, then hung up :)

Same call to the south of Switzerland. Actually I have installed a switch and this kind of call come just once to my phone. Today, after a couple of year, more than 30 phone number are on  my black  list... :-)

Don't waste your time with these clowns.  You'll get exactly what you deserve if you give your credit card number to anyone who calls you and asks for it, no matter who they say they are, or how sweet the deal sounds.  Here is the website I was directed to: http://pvt-usa.com/ (Pleasant Vacation Travel).

I got a phone call from this number at 10pm NZ time on 1 Feb. I was asleep when the call came through and stupidly gave out details before realising it was probably a scam.  I have been able to find a web site for Pleasant Vacation Travel but it the phone number there is totally different.  I have stopped my credit card payment and will be reporting this as a fraudulent call to the company.

Number unavailable, but same guy calling himself Michael Smith calling from Las Vegas and you've just won the jackpot Press 9 to claim your prize I just put the phone down. I didn't get the company name something corporation

My mother received a call from 001-404-382-7592 on Friday, the 15th of December at 16:06 as well, but she doesn't speak English very well. she thought they asked her, how she got his number, or how he got our number. so she just hung up the phone, as she also thought, that we might have to pay for the call.
but thanks all, for clearing this up. now I can tell her to just hang up the phone, should they try to call again.

Received a call from 1 404 382 7592 Since no one was home no message was left on the voicemail.

I'm from the Netherlands and I got called by this number too. It was around 20:30 Dutch time. Hopefully they won't call again.

Got the call today in DK. 17th. dec 9.15 from Mr Smith or whoever it was from Las Vegas.. but leaving people in suspense and false expectations are abselutely disgusting.. -  Press #9.. got to the bibs and bobs. but nobody took the call... as we have been to Vegas, i sincerely thord we have won the lottery of some sort, so i called again.. and the "Tele- guy" mumbled and jumbled and i asked him, jackpot and where did you get my number from.. he then hung up.. - i then thord to myself.. Don´t quit your Dayjob Bob... Looser

Got the same call in Napier NZ 8:04 pm - pressed 9, but then hung up

I received a call with the same "Las Vegas message" on the 16 december 2010 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Call not answered - I was not there.

They called here (Denmark) around 6.30 pm. No one answered in the other end.

Got a call from this Georgia landline number today in the early morning hours, did not ick up the phone as I was sleeping. I called back at 10:30 am and got a slurred name, "can I help you?" I dentified myseld and the man hung up. Tried again, and the man said he would transfer to his manger. Then the line went dead. End of story.

I have also been receiving this same call in Luxembourg.  It has occurred every week for at least 3 weeks - morning, afternoon and evening.  I heard the message once and hung up.  Now if I see the number, I just don't answer.  It does not go to the recorder.  The question is - where do we report this so we get these calls to stop?

Since wifey is American, I pressed 9 got to a call center agent asking me if I was interested in going to Cancun or Orlando. She mumbled something in between her teeth, and I asked to repeat the company information. Then heard the horn fall out of her hands and lost the connection.

THIS IS A SCAM. This is the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is lottery winnings, fabulous vacation, etc., and the fee is for tax, shipping, etc. They'll want your card info or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneyram, etc. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone.

15. dec. 2010, 10:57 dk-time: received by automatic recording, saying that I won the jackpot and should press 9 to confirm. I pressed 9 and then got an error message.
They are probably expecting me to call back on the number, so they can get some money over the phonebill that way...
